SPECIAL ABILITIES
Link (Ex) A summoner and his eidolon share a mental link that allows for communication across any distance (as long as they are on the same plane). This communication is a free action, allowing the summoner to give orders to his eidolon at any time. In addition, magic items interfere with the summoner’s connection to his eidolon. As a result, the summoner and his eidolon share magic item slots. For example, if the summoner is wearing a ring, his eidolon can wear no more than one ring. In case of a conflict, the items worn by the summoner remain active, and those used by the eidolon become dormant. The eidolon must possess the appropriate appendages to use a magic item.
Resilient Lady Adria’s feat means that Borgov does not disappear when Adria falls asleep or unconscious.
Share Spells (Ex) The summoner can cast a spell with a target of “you” on his eidolon (as a spell with a range of touch) instead of on himself. A summoner can cast spells on his eidolon even if the spells normally do not affect creatures of the eidolon’s type (outsider). Spells cast in this way must come from the summoner spell list. This ability does not allow the eidolon to share abilities that are not spells, even if they function like spells.
BACKGROUND
Originally Lord Lucan’s squire and companion, Piotyr Borgov adapted to the role of butler and manager of his Lordship’s household upon their retirement from adventuring. He duplicated his loyalty for his master upon the mistress of the house, and of course, the adorable infant Adria. He watched with pride as she grew up, never seeing her flaws, and doted on her as much (if not more) as her own father. When his master was killed through treachery, on his watch, he swore his enduring soul to the protection and security of Lady Adria. That devotion even held when he gave his life to buy her time to escape an ambush. But even death could not keep him from serving his master’s household, and Borgov soon reappeared as Lady Adria’s eidolon, adopting his own appearance, though missing some of his skills and memories.
DESCRIPTION
Borgov appears in perfectly pressed and arranged butler’s livery, and no stain or tear of that clothing lasts long. He is tall and broad, with his greying hair brushed back. His steel grey eyes are piercing and miss little, and his soft baritone voice has been a comfort to Adria for many a night on the road.
