I'm starting up a new campaign soon with my first cavalier - my second-ever Pathfinder character - and I'm a little confused about where to use the stats/feats of my character and where to use my mount.

I'm looking at a (surprise, surprise) Charge build with a horse and a lance. Lotta damage, probably low versatility - so far I'm just playing with the options.

I noticed the Trample feat, which gives my mount a free Hoof attack against an enemy I overrun. Then I see Charge Through, which allows me to make a free overrun against a target in my path when I Charge someone else. Seems like they'd be fun to combine.

My problem is that this is a low-level campaign. We'll be capped at level 6, so feats are in short supply. I've barely managed to fit all of them in, but only by dividing them between my character and my mount. This is where it gets tricky.

I got the impression that if I just make a standard overrun, that it's actually my mount who does the maneuver. That makes sense for me, since it's my mount that's moving. Then it also makes sense that my mount should get the Improved Overrun feat. So far so good.
Now I need Charge Through, which requires Improved Overrun. So I'd like to give my mount that feat as well.
The Trample feat requires Mounted Combat, which my cavalier already has, so I'd like him to get that.

That got a little hairy. It makes sense to me that my mount does the movement and I do the attack, but when it's a combined Overrun/Charge, I can't figure it out.
Would the above be legal?

Thanks for any input!
