Yeah, I would also like to go on, but we haven't heard from our GM in a good long while...I don't think our chances are great. Hope he's alright!

Male Vampire Dwarf | HP: 170/170, AC 23 T 19 FF 17 | Rage: 24/31 | Ki Pool 7/7 | Grapple CMD: 40

Any chance of continuing onward anytime soon? Hope I don't come off as too impatient here, I'm just really looking forward to getting this fight underway.

Male Vampire Dwarf | HP: 170/170, AC 23 T 19 FF 17 | Rage: 24/31 | Ki Pool 7/7 | Grapple CMD: 40

*facepalm* Sorry, totally forgot. That whole 'courteous advance warning' thing threw me, apparently. ;)

We still alive and kicking here? No rush, just checking in.

Bognus squinted across the courtyard at the armed elf on the other end of it. "Wait a tick...Is tha' Leolathinus?!"

He barked a pleased laugh. "Now tha's more like it! Always wanted tae see how long th' Lionhardt could stand up tae th' Bluebeard. Come get some, ye pointy-eared bloodsack!"

Male Vampire Dwarf | HP: 170/170, AC 23 T 19 FF 17 | Rage: 24/31 | Ki Pool 7/7 | Grapple CMD: 40

Bognus planted his fists on his hips as he surveyed the soon-to-be battlefield. He growled.

"This all ye brought? We gave ye all th' time ye could ever want tae and tha's it?"

He spat on the ground and jerked a thumb towards Karactus. "I cannae e'en give this 'un a proper told ye so if'n tha's the best ye can do."

He unslung the broad waraxe from his back and started to advance. "Come on, then, ye milk-drinkin' sons o' whores! Show ol' Bognus yer best!"

Bognus eyed Nuandis for a moment, then spoke, his tone that of fatherly advice. "Tha killin' ain't tha interestin' part, lass. It's th' fightin'. Throwin' yer power against tha o' a foe tha's worth th' time, seein' who comes out on top. Ain't nothin' like a true contest."

Back in town, ready to roll.

Male Vampire Dwarf | HP: 170/170, AC 23 T 19 FF 17 | Rage: 24/31 | Ki Pool 7/7 | Grapple CMD: 40

Fair warning, I'm out of town the next few days. I'll have my computer and the internet, so I may be able to post, but my free time will be coming at a serious premium, so no guarantees.

Male Vampire Dwarf | HP: 170/170, AC 23 T 19 FF 17 | Rage: 24/31 | Ki Pool 7/7 | Grapple CMD: 40

Bognus gave the enchantress a flat look. "If'n yer puppet needs somethin' aside his own hands, there's a couple'a swords lyin' down the hall jest thar." He waved toward the eastern hallway. "Ye kin find 'em buried under the meat of tha other two."

Male Vampire Dwarf | HP: 170/170, AC 23 T 19 FF 17 | Rage: 24/31 | Ki Pool 7/7 | Grapple CMD: 40

Bognus's eyes narrowed dangerously, but he let the crack pass. For now.

Male Vampire Dwarf | HP: 170/170, AC 23 T 19 FF 17 | Rage: 24/31 | Ki Pool 7/7 | Grapple CMD: 40

I submit as evidence of my restraint that refrained from working in a "Hi ho" joke at the end of that bit. Dwarven work ethic!

Male Vampire Dwarf | HP: 170/170, AC 23 T 19 FF 17 | Rage: 24/31 | Ki Pool 7/7 | Grapple CMD: 40

Bognus's brow furrowed, his face uncharacteristically thoughtful for a moment. "Ye...want their souls ta ask their god a question."

He leaned in, feigning a conspiratorial whisper. "Ye know tha's starkers, righ'?"

He threw up his hands, stalking in a frustrated little circle. "E'en if Mitra is payin' attention, e'en if he knows who the blazes ye are, e'en if he gives a rat's arse about such things, he kin just tell 'em that an enemy o' the faith took over the Sergeant's brain, and he'd be tellin' tha bloody truth."

He stopped his pacing and pointed a meaty finger at Karactus's face. "E'en if ye are what I'm startin' to think ye might be, murderin' a few o' his least servants ain't gonna give nae Lord o' Light a bit o' pause, old spook."

He faced the 'man' fully again, fists planted on hips. "Ye know as well as I that these li'l bits ain't nothin' more than a petty taunt ta somethin' as big as Mitra's church. We've gotta finish up wit' the small fry an git outta here fer real afore ye can get ta whate'er grand plans ye've got, an' the rest o' us can git movin' with our own."

The dwarf leaned back on the wall, fingers drumming impatiently on his crossed arms again. "I'll allow ye this one fer yer pride's sake - but there's work yet ta be done, so after this, quit yer showin' off and let's get on wit' it."

Male Vampire Dwarf | HP: 170/170, AC 23 T 19 FF 17 | Rage: 24/31 | Ki Pool 7/7 | Grapple CMD: 40

"Then bloody well explain it, or I'm doin' this my way," Bognus replied, waving irritatedly at Nuandis to get the Sergeant to get on with his business while they argued.

Male Vampire Dwarf | HP: 170/170, AC 23 T 19 FF 17 | Rage: 24/31 | Ki Pool 7/7 | Grapple CMD: 40

The dwarf snorted. "Will ye "gain any satisfaction" out o' takin' another five minutes ta show off yer puppet?"

He squinted up into the eyes of Karactus's stolen flesh. "Look, the trickery an' sneakin' about is all well and good when ye've got an actual threat ta deal wit', but why in every Hell are we botherin' to waste our time wit' this trash? Fer all we know, bustin' us loose set a platoon o' real paladins marchin' their shiny keisters over here ta come escort us down ta tha last dustin' grounds. Tha' might be one hell o' a fight, but we kin only take so many o' 'em wit' us, so let's git this done and be on."

Male Vampire Dwarf | HP: 170/170, AC 23 T 19 FF 17 | Rage: 24/31 | Ki Pool 7/7 | Grapple CMD: 40

Male Vampire Dwarf | HP: 170/170, AC 23 T 19 FF 17 | Rage: 24/31 | Ki Pool 7/7 | Grapple CMD: 40

Bognus strolled past the door on his way to the barracks with a satisfied smirk on his face, shaking his hands free of bits of brain and meat.

Male Vampire Dwarf | HP: 170/170, AC 23 T 19 FF 17 | Rage: 24/31 | Ki Pool 7/7 | Grapple CMD: 40

Talking about this game the other day, a friend of mine point out this feat to me: Bushwhack.

I thought it might be fun when he mentioned it, since Bognus has a surprisingly decent Stealth, but if we keep engineering situations like this, I definitely need to pick it up.

Male Vampire Dwarf | HP: 170/170, AC 23 T 19 FF 17 | Rage: 24/31 | Ki Pool 7/7 | Grapple CMD: 40

As the guards rounded the corner past the door, Bognus slipped out into the hall with undisguised glee, his booted feet making disturbingly little noise as he crept up behind the unsuspecting mortals while they continued down the hall, further away from their sleeping comrades. His hands reached out for the guard in the rear with deadly intent.

Seeing the 'Sergeant' turn back away from the room, Bognus smiled with all his fangs, then slipped back inside the room where the others waited. He raised a fist gleefully, signalling the rest that the spook had finally finished with his task. Pressing up against the wall by the door, Bognus lurked, his hands flexing with eager malice.

Bognus, picking through what was left of the Sergeant's gear, eyed the little gem suspiciously for a moment before shrugging and slotting it into the second space on the compass hanging from his belt.

Ne'er met an ioun stone I dinnae like.

That done, he stalked down the hall, surprisingly silent as he followed after Karactus. Sure that his allies would object if he simply barged ahead, he hung back for the moment, just behind the last turn in the halls as he waited for the signal from the spirit...man...thing.

Bognus grunted in response, scraping a bit of guard out of his front teeth with his thumbnail. "Oh aye? Thanks e'er so fer yer graciousness, lass."

Despite the surly words, though, the burly dwarf did seem mollified for the moment. He eyed Karactus's transformation with a look that was somehow impressed and contemptuous at the same time.

"Nae bad," he admitted. "Seen better in me time, but nae bad. Shoul' fool tha goat-suckers waitin' fer us, I s'pose."

I'm cool without the belt - Karactus is pretty much right in his assessment of who it would be better for. I wouldn't mind the Dex bonus, plus it's a higher Strength than my current belt, but the grapple bonuses on my current one are nifty, and I certainly have no use for the Con. Strap it on with my compliments.
The stone...the stone is a harder call. It is damn difficult to get ahold of Bognus's brain, but if it happens, there could be problems. I think probably handing it over to Ulmah is a reasonably smart bet, since she'll get more use out of it. Man, I'll hate it when we're proven wrong, though.
Oh, wait a second! I nearly forgot - Bognus picked up a 3-slot Wayfinder's compass, which would let him get an additional effect out of the stone. Specifically, in this case, 5% chance of evasion on Reflex saves. That isn't much, but I think it's enough to tip the balance. With that, I vote that Bognus snatches the stone.

As for Seth, I'd kinda rather we get somebody reliable to take him over than just handwave him away, but I also admit I wouldn't especially mind keeping the group tight. If somebody who knows what they're doing wants to take over, cool, but I have no real objections to him floating away if that's easier. We've got two flavors of spellcasters, a utility/control fighter and a bruiser/lockdown specialist (plus possibly Kessa, a Monk/Alchemist for...wow, I have no idea what her deal is), so I think we're good to go, balance-wise.

Male Vampire Dwarf | HP: 170/170, AC 23 T 19 FF 17 | Rage: 24/31 | Ki Pool 7/7 | Grapple CMD: 40

Bognus's lip curled in scorn as the Sergeant blithely removed the last hope he had of defense. His arms crossed over his broad chest, and his foot started tapping.

Male Vampire Dwarf | HP: 170/170, AC 23 T 19 FF 17 | Rage: 24/31 | Ki Pool 7/7 | Grapple CMD: 40

*shrug* Whatevs. Unless there's something really weird about any of those bits of gear, I can't think of a use Bognus could possible put any of it to. He's much more anxious to get moving again than to bicker over loot.

Male Vampire Dwarf | HP: 170/170, AC 23 T 19 FF 17 | Rage: 24/31 | Ki Pool 7/7 | Grapple CMD: 40

Bognus's beard twitched.

Oh aye, we'll surely be needin' this fat git tae take some willow-lovin' Mitrans while they're abed.

"Bah," he muttered.

Male Vampire Dwarf | HP: 170/170, AC 23 T 19 FF 17 | Rage: 24/31 | Ki Pool 7/7 | Grapple CMD: 40

The vampire's mouth moved with a single syllable, something like "bah". He released the officer with a silent grunt, stomping back toward the door to stand lookout.

Male Vampire Dwarf | HP: 170/170, AC 23 T 19 FF 17 | Rage: 24/31 | Ki Pool 7/7 | Grapple CMD: 40

Bognus strolled casually through the door, cracking his knuckles without a sound. He cast about for the sergeant, reaching out to grab ahold of the unfortunate.

Grapple: 1d20 + 27 ⇒ (7) + 27 = 34 Assuming I can find a valid target, anyway.

Male Vampire Dwarf | HP: 170/170, AC 23 T 19 FF 17 | Rage: 24/31 | Ki Pool 7/7 | Grapple CMD: 40

"Bah," Bognus said simply, ambling forward. "If et's all the same to ye, I'll jest grab 'im once ye make et all quiet-like. No sense in lettin' 'im get a chance tae move around." He shakes his head irritatedly. "I'll leave 'im in one piece 'til the lass gets 'er shot in."

Bognus poked his head around the corner, glaring down the hallway where Karactus had gone. He looked back at the others, all patiently waiting. He drummed his thick fingers on the wall, clearly growing impatient.

"Always with the waitin'," he grumbled under his breath. Turning to look down the hallway again, he scowled. "I'll show ye bleak eternity, ye puffed-up spook."

Bognus held the distended necks of the two corpses in his fists for a moment, their necks instantly snapped before he even began to fight in earnest. He scowled, disappointed and annoyed. "Bah. Tweren't even fighters. Not even worth tha trouble."

He lashed out suddenly, smashing in one of the barrels with a vicious blow. He examined the ruined container for a moment, then frowned again as he realized it hadn't vented his frustrations at all, as it would have in the old days. Instead, it just sat there. A little ball of irritation, waiting in his chest. He growled and stalked out of the little kitchen. "Let's go find somethin' useful tae do."

Bognus, quickly growing irritated with the lack of action, drew his axe from its makeshift sling at his side, examining the wide blade closely and scowling at each little nick in the blade. When he was done a few moments later, he looked up, his gaze moving back and forth between the others as they went about their various preparations.

He shrugged, then set about looking for something to serve as a whetstone. "I'm all fer a battle plan, but we're gonna want tae get a move on sooner rather'n later. These," he gestured to the corpses all around, "Mighta been easy pickin's, but if'n we give their elites too much time tae organize, they might be able tae put up a real fight."

He paused suddenly, as if realizing something, then grinned. "Right then. Never mind ol' Bognus. Take all tha time ye want." He ran a thumb carelessly down the edge of his weapon, the magically sharp blade never penetrating his hide. "A real fight'd suit me jest fine."

Bognus, his battle rage ending along with the exciting part of the fight, caved in the last guard's skull with one last bored slam into the wall as he nodded along to Karactus's suggestions. "A good idea, that. Could also stand tae avoid any nasty little traps they might 'ave set up. Patches o' magic sunlight, wards against tha likes o' us, that sort of thing."

Body Bludgeon does actually cover creatures larger than medium.

"Medium creature deals 1d10 points of damage, and so on."

The only flaw I'm seeing in your build is that even though you have the ability to grapple multiple creatures, Body Bludgeon still states that your victim is a two-handed weapon. Though, I'm ok with it.

Edit: Also, where is the constrict damage coming from? I'm seeing tetori don't get it until 15th level.

Edit2: I completely forgot to answer the blood drain question. I don't see anything that would prevent you from using blood drain multiple times a round.

Damage dice: Yeah, but it doesn't use any of the standard dice progressions, so things get weird quick. That's all I meant.

2-handed Body Bludgeon: Whoop, I totally missed that! My bad. Thanks for letting me get away with it - I think maybe another -2 penalty to hit (as with oversized weapons) would be appropriate to balance it out?

Constrict: Constrict is coming from the Anaconda's Coils belt.

Blood Drain: Sweet. My victims will die that much faster.

In the ongoing vein of "I never thought of this before" - can I Power Attack for my attacks in a grapple? I assume Constrict can't benefit from this, but Animal Fury and Body Bludgeon, even grappling for damage, I figure I ought to be able to take the hit to attack rolls and CMB, yeah? For some reason, I'd always missed the fact that you take a hit to CMB as well, so it seems to me I should, but...*shrug* heck if I know. I leave it in your capable hands.

Oh, and to reiterate a question from before: should I be Blood Draining multiple times a round, or no?

Oh God. You guys just love making me scratch my head over rules here.

I suppose if we classified a living thing as an improvised weapon he'd still only have a 10 ft range with it, with the -2 penalty for each range increment increase. Also might have to put a total limit on distance, maybe 10ft for max load, 20 ft heavy, 30 ft medium 40ft light loads. Damage would be something like d6+str per 10ft thrown and the target thrown at would take d6+str per 10ft thrown +d6 per 10 ft thrown for every size category larger than the target.

So if Bognus were to manage to throw a Huge creature 40ft at a medium creature the huge would take 4d6+str and the medium would take 8d6+str.

EDIT: If Bog threw a Col creature 40ft at a fine it'd take 36d6. As insanely improbably as this scenario is, and as hilarious as it would be, I think maybe I should change the extra damage to 2d6 per size category larger the creature is than it's target, regardless of distance. That'd make a 40ft throw from Colossal to Fine a 20d6+str chuck. Still decent!

Heh. Just to add on to this, Body Bludgeon specifically causes me to treat them as improvised weapons. Technically, if I took Catch Off-Guard, I wouldn't even take penalties when using them in melee, and Throw Anything would let me throw them around. Also, from Improved Natural Attack, we know the following: "A weapon or attack that deals 1d10 points of damage increases as follows: 1d10, 2d8, 3d8, 4d8, 6d8, 8d8, 12d8." So, a Huge creature would clock in at a 3d8 damage dice, and a Colossal...uh...6d8. Hm...actually, now I think about it, Body Bludgeon doesn't seem to follow the usual damage increase tables: Tiny creatures are 1d6, Small creatures are 1d8, Medium 1d10 (I don't think they every thought about someone going larger than Medium creatures with this), so I guess it's kinda a GM call from there. Just for reference, though, don't scratch your heads too hard - I think this is a little too nuts, so I'll probably never do it. Well...with living creatures, anyway, I might do the throwing-their-corpses thing.

The trick is gonna be getting to do this to anything bigger than Large size in the first place. At the moment, the only reason I can even do this to Medium creatures is thanks to the Titanic enchantment on my bracers. I'm unaware of any way I can ever go larger than whatever my current size is - if anyone knows of something that lets you use abilities as if you were more than one size category larger than you are (since multiple enhancements of this type don't stack), let me know and we'll see about bludgeoning dragons with other dragons.

I'm entirely too tired to type up all the dice necessary for it right now, but Bognus is going to drag his current target southeast with him, then grab ahold of the guard currently two spaces south of Sethirom. I'll get to the official post tonight, but there's my intent just so y'all can plan. I've also already moved myself in roll20.

Yeah, he's going where I take him.
