Background
Robert "Bobby" Cipowski was born in Cicero, IL, the youngest of 7 children. He has long been fascinated with computers, and so it was no surprise when he pursued degrees in Computer Science. After getting his undergraduate and master's degrees from UIC, he began work on his PhD. However, the weight of his student loans, rent, car payments, and everything else became too great and he became involved in an internet-based credit card fraud ring involving worms and zombie computers in an attempt to get out of debt. He was eventually busted by the FBI, resulting in a number of years in jail as well as expulsion from his PhD program. Now, having put his days as a white-collar criminal behind him, he lives a humble life as a low-level tech for a giant telecom corporation.
