Most of the crew goes below to checks for breaches, Boabdil turns to you with a grim look.
Ekjori and Bill Pug are now standing and looking to you. Four unknown Mwangi men rush to the edge of the islet - three pull back one who tries to swim for your ship. Two women pale complexion, but burned red stand huddled together in the center of the islet. The reef is difficult to see - it looks like an unmoving cloud of dark and light meringue or lava rock.. with spiky "tendrils" - all the same hue as the water itself. each launch will hold six medium-sized.
jury-rigged mast and rigging rolls: any engineering, or craft (carpentry, shipbuilding) who care to help, please roll. I'll also take prof(sailor) checks.

"Aye." Boabdil knocks First Mate Du'bing on the shoulder - who yells out "Weigh anchor!" Boabdil adds to the command "Eyes on all sides. I want Dub at the helm. All other hands gather up what we have to work with." He beckons Aersten, Gatherine, Garborn, Iolana, Marco, and Tusara.
"Iolana and I are giving thought to cutting the mast to the Moana Tarqona to replace the Tamarind's." He points to the bigger ship's mast damage is mostly at the very top. The undamaged portion of it is tall enough for the Tamarind. "We can craft a new mast for the Moana Tarqona... " He points to the Island of Devil's Arches.. "Good straight trees. Four or five days... maybe a week to finish."
"Good to meet you, Master Enrotheld." Boabdil bows.. less formally. He looks out as Marco refers to the reef islet, and nods somberly.
Gatherine wrote: When she came upon the dusky Boabdil, she greeted him and welcomed his safe recovery, relieved to see he hadn't been slain.Oi!! Happy day, indeed.Missed you.Worried you'd been murdered. Stepping away from the interrogation, Boabdil smiles big, and knocks Gatherine's shoulder with a fist. "Good to be seeing you, Miss Gatherine. I'm still waiting to see how much is too much for you to lug around witchoo." He steps around her to see the new bag. "Sharkskin, eh? Good.. good. Keeps the water out." loot from Sito: small punching dagger and light crossbow Sharkskin Adventurer's Sash (waterproof)

Boabdil nods to Iolana, and gives the order... "Bring him out."
Boabdil leans into Craw's personal space "My friends here are going to ask you some questions." He keeps eye contact for a moment before moving from Craw, and motioning for you to go ahead. Current conditions give a +2 to Interrogation. Boabdil's presence gives an additional +2 to Intimidate or Diplomacy... until a roll is missed by 5 or more. The more specific the question, the harder it is for him to "blather". 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (15) + 7 = 22
The remaining crew of the Moana Tarqona cross onto the Tamarind to reunite with their allies and friends. Interrogation of the Captain and his two remaining slaver/pirates, as well as discussion of the current situation is kept for when Iolana wakes. Iolana regains consciousness in about an hour. Boabdil, Captain of the Moana Tarqona immediately calls for a meeting to discuss the matters at hand. He nods a welcome to the newcomers, then gets too business. "We must decide our next move. We know these pirates brought us here to sell to this sea witch. We know they received us from their allies - who took us and your research from our ship. Those pirates... Morbel the big gnome and his shipmates must have or have sold your research." He sighs and grumbles a cuss in Bonuwat. "We lost Bill Pug and Ekjori to the fishmen." He gestures for Du'Bing - who hands him a spyglass. Boabdil points to the horizon. "Six out there... thousand feet out look like they're passed out on top of the water... must be an islet in the reef." He looks through the spyglass before holding it out for another to look. "Hard to tell, but I think Bill Pug and Ekjori are among'em." Some options (in addition to discussing what Boabdil's brought up)...
The Sargavan coast comes into view. Boabdil - who has served as first mate to Captain Cale, calls out to cut the sails.
Over the past few days at sea, Tol, Gelik, and Mugambi had been conspiring over the idea of buying up a tavern. They now seem quite serious, and quickly take Boabdil up on his offer. They take one of the jolly boats to shore to "shop around" for some property with potential. The crew is in no hurry to leave. A seasonal spiritual gathering they make a point to attend occurs a few weeks from now.. not terribly far inland from Eleder. You've decided to sell the information you've gleaned from the ruins. To the highest bidder with at least a modicum of moral fiber. You have the luxury of time - to feel out the worth of your discoveries, before beginning to entertain offers from factions likely to have interest.
You hear the wind pick up outside and the boat starts rocking a bit .. not too viciously, but the calm has ended. Two sailors come down from the deck into the dining area to tell the First Mate they need to speak with him .. while they are there they each chug a bowl of stew before walking out with Alton.
Gatherine:
There is a long pause after the pounding on the door stops .. and then you hear the crack of splitting wood. First Mate Alton's second swing of his axe does enough damage to the door to be able to kick it open "You! .. go sit down! .. the second you open your mouth .."Now! Not a word!!" Alton walks past the dining area .. and then back toward the kitchen, this time with an axe .. You hear him smash the door down and yell at Gatherine until she finally enters the dining area..
Tol:
You don't get a good view .. but you have seen inside a bit before .. it is a hallway with steps down to Aerys and Ieana's cabins .. but you have not been past the door (D) on overhead view.
Mugambi:
You take your time .. Ishirou gets bored and decides to get drunk, he starts singing in what sounds like the saddest Tien song ever written .. he sobs while you soak, scrape, clean, apply salve, and wrap his foot.. by the time you finish he is passed out... you get cleaned up in time for dinner ..
Dinnertime rolls around you are all on the first of two dinner "shifts" The dinner table is made up of roughly half crew, half passengers.. Averin, Mugambi, Iolana, Gelik, and Cahill on one side
You have been sitting for a few minutes, and can hear a bit of a racket from the kitchen..
Tol: Alton listens and nods as you speak to him out on the deck "Yes well, I understand.. I was a threena- er I was quite young when I felt the call .." he stops short and looks past you .. a woman's voice behind you.. "May I speak with you Alton" you turn just as the door shuts again, the door to what you understand to be Ieana's cabin .. someone you have not seen once.. "I'm sorry if you'll excuse me .. we can continue this at dinner perhaps.."
The first mate intercepts Iolana .."Captains still sleepin .. he's been taking late nights at the wheel ever since Cahill and Mauersberger both passed out on duty."
He then tracks down Mugambi "Our passenger Ishirou has a minor injury when you get a chance.. " you would know where his cabin is .. one level down and near stairs
One of the crew returns having retrieved the first mate. First Mate Alton gives Mugambi a 'that's enough' look.. he then looks at Gatherine, the mess on the deck, and turns to Tol "A stowaway ....and you know each other?" He leans in toward Gatherine and speaks plainly, without a hint of hostility or humor "You're on the ship now .. we aren't about to throw you over. But, if you can't pay your way.. you work, if you don't work.. we turn you in at port. Now get cleaned up .. you (points to a sailor) help Tol clear out the storage area near his accommodations." |
