At 1:00am this morning a fire started at Grenfell Tower, a 24 storey residential tower block in London. 200 firefighters and forty engines were in action tackling the blaze. The situation is still in progress, but fatalities are confirmed.
Here's the Grenfell Tower Fire pages on the Guardian and BBC.
Some of the stories, pictures and videos involved are distressing.
If you're in London or near, those pages have links to sites accepting donations to help the survivors.
But at least parliament was able to stop (in 2015 and 2016) laws being put in place to require private landlords ensured their properties were 'fit for human habitation'. Wouldn't want the poor darlings profits to be hit by unnecessary regulation, after all.
