Background:

”I guess with the name Bishop I was destined to join the clergy here in Sandpoint. My aunt, the mayor, thought, given our family’s history of public service, that it would be a good place for me to be. My parents were just grateful I didn’t join the guard and become responsible for patrolling the coast road or defending the town from the nearby Brinestump goblins.
It’s been five years since the late unpleasantness, when the former chapel burned to the ground and took Father Tobyn’s life. Although I was only 13 years old at the time I can still remember the chaos and fear that ran through the town. Since that time the once humble chapel, dedicated to the six major deities of the region (Abadar, Desna, Erastil, Gozreh, Sarenrae, and Shelyn) has been rebuilt, with the help of my aunt and Father Abstalar Zantus, who became high priest after Father Tobyn’s’ passing, into a glorious cathedral soon to be rededicated to those original six gods and goddesses.
I must admit to some nervousness, as the newest acolyte of the Church of Desna, that I find myself, along with the other acolytes, standing behind Father Zantus waiting for the release of the swallowtails and the beginning of the consecration ceremony.”
