Background:
Bevis Mherone grew up in crime-riddled Blackspire, a city in a gargantuan obsidian tower in northern Nesmir ruled by mages, the only son of Noris Mherone, one of the mages ruling the city. Bevis was the apprentice of his father, but one day his father was murdered in a coupe by another mage who wanted to take power for himself. Bevis
Mherone escaped the city and left Nesmir.
Bevis traveled to the city of Risarn, the capital of Illyntir, and became a student at the Arcane College there. He was quite the troublemaker and was soon kicked out. He then took to the streets and joined a group of thieves called the Sixfingers, lead by a man named Saevan “Sixfinger” Drolis. Over the years, Bevis Mherone became quite an asset to the boss, and at age nineteen he became a liutenant in the organization. He convinced Saevan to let him take some men and go to Blackspire in order to set up a base of operation there, with the true intention that he wanted to get revenge on the magelord who had killed his father.
A gang war between the thieves of Blackspire and Bevis and his Sixfingers broke out, a war which Mherone quickly lost. Mherone was taken hostage by the Blackspire thieves who discerned who he was. It turned out their leader was an old friend of his father, and he was allowed to leave on the condition that he never returned. He couldn't return to Risarn, as Saevan Sixfinger would most likely have him killed for his failure, so Bevis traveled to Oderon in which peace had recently returned after the War in the Wake.
He reached Phendras, where he became the assistant to the private detective Nym Sorvin. Bevis Mherone is now 29 years old and has been in Phendras for nine years. Two years ago Nym died of old age and Mherone took over the busin
