About Betim Blackbeard
Betim Blackbeard was born on April 13, 457 in the clan of Thirnolihm. As a youngster, he took an apprenticeship with the Khir Kohldur (gold and mineral mining) and Girgaruhm (making rock tools and rare jewelry) clans where he spent 4 years each. During this time, he rescued and aided a cougar that he raised as a pet. After his apprenticeships, he returned home to find his clan had been exhiled for cheating and lying.
Once he found where his clan had relocated, they murdered his cougar and arrested Betim. Betim escaped in the night. He rescued a druid’s companion and was offered an apprenticeship as a druid. He spent the next years in mostly isolation with his fellow druid companions. He started to worship Gozreh, the god that rules over nature, the sea, and weather. Over the year, he learned how to train almost any animal and mastery over plant life.
Most recently, Betim trained a wolf, badger and eagle that remain in the forests outside of Norvall. Today, his companion is a grizzly bear that is about one year old. The grizzly is loyal and remains at Betim's side.
Since his best friend died in 541, he's lived in total isolation as a nomad. He is an expert in survival and stealth.
