About Bergal Kazben
Bergal stands at an impressive 6'3", with broad shoulders and a thick frame. His skin is tinged a slight green, mixed with tan, and his piercing pupils are an emerald green. Small ivory tusks jut up above his lips from his pronounced square jaw and underbite, and he's often seen smiling, which comes across as a bit goofy at first glance. His raven hair is buzzed short, and his left ear is torn in two--the clear evidence of an old battle wound. Bristly stubble seems to perpetually live on his face, despite his efforts to look clean-shaven.
He has kind eyes, but subtle passion infuses his gaze. Duplicity or wrong-doing quickly rouses his temper, and Bergal more often settles disputes with a combination of measured conviction and a show of brute strength than with soothing words. His outbursts are tempered with an unusual sense of serenity when tending to the sick or poor, and he very swiftly moves to defend the innocent in moments of desperation. This can give others the impression that Bergal sticks his nose where it does not belong, but he sees it more as righting the wrongs of his past, and spreading the good word of Iomedae to those who need her aid.
His heritage has endowed him with great strength, but has unfortunately cursed him with an inferior intellect. As a result, Bergal seeks the most direct, lawful solution to any problem. Though, he tends to interpret the law creatively when it comes to cowing spineless thieves into returning stolen money, or invoking the threat of divine judgment upon brigands to turn themselves into the proper authorities.
A white tabard, emblazoned in the center with the mark of Iomedae, covers his scale mail, and tall boots reach up to his shins. On his back rests a large greatsword, covered by a small wooden shield. At his hip rests a polished longsword, which he carries always as a reminder of his service.
