Vret perks up a little at Svetlana's words and blushes. I would like that, I really would, but I don't want to be disloyal to the King. He and his friends rescued me from imprisonment and torture under the hands of the Stag Lord and I promised myself to serve them for a year and a day. I swore it on the Fangs of Jaidz and that is an oath I must honor.

He looks at Ibram-I'm sorry your Majesty, but I think my words may have been braver than my spirit. Is there any way that that I could serve you without having to kill all kinds of things?

Vret heals his eidolon before dismissing Kynn back to his home plane.

The death took place a few miles outside of Milo town. So are you setting up watch on town or out in the farmlands.

10 days? Golly Mr. Darkvision, that's a looong time! :D

The HP are a bit obnoxious but the eidolon's don't heal except for the summoner spell 'restore eidolon' so those aren't replenishable like regular HP. The eidolon is vulnerable to 'dismissal' and 'banishment' spells and Vret can't keep him around if he's asleep or unconscious.

Perception is so high after burning a feat (+4) and GP on a magic item (+5) not because of the build.

Which is admittedly a pretty significant drawback to this build. Action economy is way better with a separate summoner/eidolon and Vret is quite vulnerable by himself without his Kynn armor. I'm envisioning a Ben 10, Blue Beetle, Shazam/Billy Batson character. Also explains why the Stag Lord was able to capture me and hold me prisoner. Now that I have powerful friends though.... :D

Umm...your Kingship? If at all possible can you explain to your other subjects at some point about my relationship with Kynn? I don't want to scare anyone or cause a problem in town, especially as I am just getting used to being around so many people.

Vret looks from Tirnel to Ibram in confusion, clearly uncomfortable with the change in attitudes amongst the adults brought on by the newly arrived folk.

Vret eyes the newcomers warily clearly uncomfortable being around this many adults he does not know.

He moves from foot to foot waiting for Ibram to reply to Tirnel.

Vret tells Tirnel that he sees a large assault force coming to waylay the trading post. Tirnel prepares his meteor swarms and cloudkill to repel the filthy invaders....

Nervously-It's a large group of humans some armed and wearing armor, but the rest just regular old folks. I even see some kids! He says the last a little excitedly, clearly hoping to have more folks close to his own age around.

Vret does his best to get a look at what's going on past the wall, jumping up and down to look over the top of the wooden stakes.

Guys, it takes me a few moments to summon Kynn. Should I do it now or should I wait? Will the folks here understand I'm not going to hurt them? I'd hate to do anything that would make Svetlana not like me...

Vret spends his time in the kitchen with Svetlana doing chores and trying to be of use. He generally avoids any large group gatherings of people but it is clear that Svetlana and Oleg are quickly filling the long void of the lad's parents.

I'm trying to put as much of the calculation into my detail character sheets as possible for Vret and Vret-Kynn. Feel free to double check and make sure I'm not missing anything (I'm sure I am).

It is absolutely a lot to keep track of....

When I was younger my village fell victim to some plague or sickness, and I was one of the sick. I got better, but many others died, including my parents. Soon after I was orphaned my village was attacked by bandits who killed those that could not escape. I was badly wounded but was able to flee into the woods. I lived on my own in the woods for many years alone and recently encountered some patrolling men that turned out to be new bandits. I followed them back here to this place and tried to pick them off a few at a time. The Stag Lord was a cunning hunter though and trapped me, bringing me back here to give 'sport' to his men.

The young man, who introduces himself as Vret, looks at the party uncomfortably-If we are going to travel together there is something I need to show you. Don't freak out....

He frowns in concentration and what you previously thought were faint scars on his forehead begin to glow; the glowing runes are in the form of three iridescent claw marks.

The boy looks at the helm and waves of different emotions wash over his face-anger, pain, hatred, fear; until it settles into a cold smile and what you can only guess at as a sort of malign happiness.

So....are you my new keepers or are you here to give me my freedom? If you free me I will pledge myself in service to you for a year and a day. To meet the fates that you meet, to fight the enemies that you fight, to make your causes my own. This I swear by the Fangs of Jaidz.

The young man-boy looks up from his sitting position as the party enters the room. His flesh is raw where the shackles hold his body and dark crusted blood covers each section of metal. Clearly he has been trying to escape his bonds for some time. His body is badly bruised as if from repeated beatings. His dark brown eyes peer out at you through his dirty straw-colored hair. There is a feral look about him and he tracks your movements like a predatory cat or wolf.

He sniffs the air as if trying to catch a scent. His voice comes out raspy, dry, and cracked-You are new men of the Stag Lord? Best be about your business. You can be no worse than the others.
