Bazuuk was born in the market lands around the city of Tranau. His mother human and his father an orc. This was not a pleasant arrangement founded by love but by the trails of war in the wild-lands.
His mother the victim of a orc raid and captive to a tribe of orc who abused her beyond his birth. She become a toy for the tribe throughout his youth before she was finally tortured to death before his coming of age.
Throughout her torture he was also a victim from the time he could walk both to the sights of his mother's brutalization but also to his own beatings. In those years he stayed close to the camps mostly chained feet and hands together carrying heavy loads of wood and gear for the warriors given only slight more freedom each year. He brought the orc warriors food and water cooked by the other slaves, mostly women onsite.
After his mother's death around his 13th birthday he began the ritual of the markings. With each week for the next 3 years he would receive a single mark each week. These would come in the form of cuttings from different weapons and different warriors in the clan, sometimes he would be burned or branded if you will. But it seemed the older he got the more severe the week's tattoo.
In this horrifying childhood there was happiness. He often spent his free time tending to the animals before they were slaughtered but also with the other slaves. His life changed however the day he met her, a human female his age who had a softness about her. She called herself Kametree. She was an absolute delight that would become the joy to his world, a reason for living.
From the day she arrived at the camp he protected her for she also reminded him of his mother somehow. He could not let anything happen to her, especially not the things his mother experienced.
His protection of the girl lead to many beatings from the orc tribe but somehow knowing she was not harmed pushed him through his own tortures.
Over the next few years as they both got older they became closer, not lovers but closer like family. Then one night everything changed. He awoke in the dark to see the camp ablaze and the sounds of fighting all about.
Death filled the air. There were deafening screams, crying, yelling, and in this he could think of nothing more than getting to Kametree. Still in his chains and out of sight of the women he became frightened at first then calm. He beat the chains from his ankle with a nearby rock and rushed out into the madness where he could free Kametree. As he moved through the smoke and dodged the men as they fought all around him he noticed her running across the camp. Near inches from his own death on countless occasions he met up with her and they ran into the forests to hide.
They would spend the next 6 weeks close allies in the quest for freedom. They avoided guards both human and orcen as they headed toward Tranau.
Bazuuk had learned a lot from his time in the tribal slave camp about geography, mapping, climbing, and nature due to his many excursions into the woods and hills for supplies and the countless stories told by the overly festive orc warriors celebrating their battles. He had even learned a bit about magic that would help them steer clear of the spell casting raiders.
Finally just a few weeks ago they made it to the outskirts of Tranau where they have spent there days working for an honest wage with a local merchant who took them in not entirely for kindness but for protection and cheap labor.
