Others may have mentioned this, but I couldn't find anything. Also, I'm not sure which forum this would best fit under, but here goes... I've been having issues with opening the Inner Sea World Guide Lite PDF on any iDevice using iOS 7. Thought it was my old phone just being old, but my brand new 5S is having the same issues. It opens and manages all the other PDF's amazingly well, including Core Rulebook Lite and Bestiary Lite. It's not just iBooks either (of which the new version is notoriously bad). Neither my web browser nor any other reader can open it. It will attempt to load but a moment after the cover flashes, the app quits. I checked the size of the file and the Lite version is only 50mb shy of the full sized Inner Sea World Guide (287mb). I've tried downloading it several times to make sure I got the right file loaded and not the full sized one, but maybe there is something else I'm missing. Thanks!
This may seem like a silly question, and also may have been asked and answered already, but... just how many characters are you guys making every year that you need a giant stack of books to pull options from? I'm being serious here. It seems to me that there are enough permutations of races, classes, feats, skills, and other options that even just the Core Rules would be enough to last an entire campaign. I'm my groups' GM and I don't feel the need to have a giant pile of books to choose from, even though I'd LOVE to have them all. The only 3.5 splat books I own are Forgotten Realms and WarCraft (NOT World of...) and as much as I'd love to use some of those bits, my groups really don't need them. Granted, that's just us, but I am very surprised to hear anyone say that PF doesn't have enough options. I know no one said "no options," just "not enough," but between the Core, APG, Ultimates, ACG, Mythic, and setting books, I'd never get to all of it. Really, a lot of complaints I see on forums tend to reflect player dissatisfaction with their GM's more than anything else. I'm not attacking anybody, but I really think a less than enjoyable game is much more on the GM's shoulders than the system's or the company's. Barring certain books is the GM's prerogative, but at the same time if a player brings a solid character concept to the table that needs a little splat here or there, whether it's 3.5 or 3PP, they should be flexible. After all, the character is the one thing the player should have the most control of in a world ruled by one person. I'd be remiss, though, if I didn't say I wish Paizo would consider PF2. I think the old system didn't get fixed enough, as beloved as it is.
They didn't make anybody sign any NDA's at GenCon either, but I have signed it for the packets. I think more than anything else, especially after my talk with Mike Mearls at the Night with D&D event, they want people to share the system and talk about it; they just don't want people selling it and passing it off as their own.
Here is the DLC John mentioned above: Amiri Your player picked the right Iconic to ask for! Only thing this lacks is the story material featured on the character folios.
My advice as a local: make the trip to Mass Ave. to Chatham Tap or over to Bourbon Street Distillery just off the IUPUI campus. They have the best food for the best prices and you won't feel like a swollen goblin dog when you're done. And if you're a beer connoisseur, make sure you try Triton and Upland (as seen on Parks And Recreation). The other, more in-your-face local brews can't hold a candle to these.
Seems like most of the PFS sessions are on the south side and my whole group is north side. It's difficult for me to get my own close group of friends to play more than once a month, so if anyone on the north end of Indy is looking to start regular PFS sessions at The Game Preserve, they're always willing to make room! |
