Background:
Baralas was born in the Town of Tamran. His father, Aldyn and mother, Cora ran a furniture shop and he and his older brother, Talmas helped in the family business. Baralas was only 12 when the Night of Raining Fire occurred. While he and his mother were ushered to safety, his brother and father were not so lucky. Talmas died in the initial assault, and Aldyn fell in the retaking of the town a few months later. With their home and shop gone, Cora took Baralas back to her family’s home in Phaendar.
Over the next few years, Baralas grew into a wild child. Wanting to strike back at the Molthuni who killed his brother and father. Several times he attempted to join groups of warriors fighting the Molthuni, but his inexperience kept him from being taken. Finally, Cora spoke with an old friend of the family, Aubrin, who had once belonged to the Chernasardo rangers. Aubrin was a hard taskmaster, and soon the wild, rude and spoiled child began to transform into a capable warrior and productive member of Nirmathi society.
Now almost finished his training, Baralas chafes once again to be out and hunting Molthuni invaders. While he has learned to temper his hatred for them, he still hates them for what they did to his family. Just a few months ago he was finally allowed to join a group tracking intruders in the woods. While they did not find their quarry, he was still able to show off his woodcraft and tracking to the satisfaction of Aubrin. Now he waits with his new armor and weapons still unbloodied for the next recruitment by the Chernasardo rangers. Aubrin has spoken to his old comrades and they may be willing to take the youth on, if his skills are as advanced as Aubrin has told them. For the time being, he waits at the family compound practicing and dreaming of the adventures to come.
