About Balik Deepdelver
Short and stocky, as most dwarfs are, Balik carries himself with a easy swagger of confidence. His long, coal-black hair is tied back in several tight braids, and his mustache and beard are likewise styled. His green eyes gleam with a barely contained anticipation, and his features are often held in an assured smirk. He wears a blue and gold vest, covered with a dark brown great coat. A bandoleer filled with black-powder bullets and various glass potion jars is draped over all this, and a leather belt holsters a dwarven clan pistol and a battleaxe.
Born in Dongun Keep, Balik quickly proved, from a young age, to be a skilled in gunsmithing. This skill lead to a love of the art and the weapons in general. He learned everything he could about gun-play and the craft of creating and maintaining the weapons. In addition he spent a few decades in the guard of Dongun Keep both as a guardsman and a gunsmith. However, Balik's mouth got him into trouble more than once. Once, when he failed to control himself, when a given foolish orders regarding the crafting of his weapons, he explained the mistake to his superior in a manner that bordered on insubordination. Angered when he was 'invited' to leave the guard immedately following, he decided to leave and see the world. His travels quickly brought him to Absalom and the Pathfinder Society. Despite his
Balik's mouth tends to act before it's checked in with his brain. This causes him major problems as he is gruff, and a tad judgmental when it comes to people who are (in his opinion) talking about things that they have no knowledge of. While he never really means to be rude, and sees it more as just telling wrong people that they are, in fact, wrong, he often comes off as abrupt, gruff, and ill-mannered. Balik loves three things; guns, solving his problems by shooting guns at enemies, and convincing others that guns are one of the best possible weapons one can wield. He travels through the world at large is in part due to his anger at having been thrown from the Dongun guard and partly to spread knowledge and use of his true love: firearms.
