Also, I think I've now hedged the archer in so that a 5' step won't get him clear to shoot without provoking an AoO.

Baddacus unlimbers his axe and with a surprising roar of rage sweeps at the nearest swordsman's legs.

"Maybe he'll send us for cheese next?" Baddacus offers with a grin. Once everything is packed up, he shoulders his axe and leads the group back out.

Glad that Drandle Dreng included a few scholars among the group, Baddacus keeps his axe ready in the event that brawn is needed over brains. When they arrive at another room with stuff to read, he takes a cursory look around, but soon settles back and leans against a wall to wait.

"Let me know if there is something that needs hacking."

Baddacus considers the names on the shrines and looks to Simon. "Those names from the wall. One of 'em was Karina somethin, right? The gnome left that paper with her name on it at his house. Didn't you say there was some sort of religious somethin-or-other referenced in the words on the Wall of Names?"

"Hmm." Baddacus gives a curt nod.

"Let's listen to it now." Baddacus says eagerly. "Someone should be ready to write down any message it has."

"I have a Wayfinder." Baddacus says, pulling out an engraved version from a pocket.

Having paid the unholy janitor for access, Baddacus is more than happy to make him earn his bribe. Moving to the sarcophagus he heaves agains the lid to push it off.

Take 20 on a strength check if needed for 22

"Hmmph." Baddacus frowns at the amount of gold needed to pay off the priest.

Baddacus has gold and will insist upon splitting the cost of the bribe later with Zuriel.

"Ok, how much?" Baddacus reaches into his belt pouch and grabs a handful of gold.

”So … be ready to show him the letters as evidence, followed up with bribery and diplomacy?”

"Diplomay, bribery, selling your souls. Asmodeus is a bastard." Baddacus glares at the priest with contempt. "I have some gold. If a bribe is offered I would suggest starting at 5 gold and see how he reacts."

Baddacus stays silent during negotiations, his visor down to conceal his angry face. Priests like this one stand for everything Baddacus himself stands against.

"If it makes anyone feel better, that kind of knowledge isn't found in the school of hard knocks either..."

Baddacus displays his greataxe to Simon. "Got my hands full."

"Good work you two!" Baddacus congratulates his companions. "Soo... Not sure how this helps us. Should we copy this down and head to Arkath'a tomb?"

Taking Fimbrik's message, Baddacus climbs back out the window and rejoins the other Pathfinders.

"The gnome's long gone. Left this however, which points right at the Wall of Names if you ask me."

Did the potions break or are they still good? Baddacus would take them if they are.

Baddacus shrugs and climbs up to break a window.

Baddacus volunteers to go through a window if no one is forthcoming with lockpicks.

Baddacus waits for the Simon to reconnoiter, and chuckles as Cathis cramps his style. Looking at all the newpapers, he wonders if the gnome even lives here anymore.

"Dreng is either a fortunate drunk or a true master of disguise!" Baddacus says as he looks over the documents. "I think we'll have to visit all these locations, but we may as well start with the gnome's home. Heh, that rhymed."

"A choker! Well it can choke on this!"

"I should have suspected something else was motivating Dreng." Baddacus says, clearly impressed with the discovery of the secret chamber. "You can't drink your way to being a Venture Captain."

Moving to the desk, he examines the contents. "I'm not much of a scholar. Anyone here able to sort this out and tell us why it's important?"

His mood vastly increased after a drink with Janira, Baddacus doesn't even throw a glare at Simon when the man elbows him. The truth is, he's now a little curious himself about the old "dungeon" under the Wounded Wisp. "Well I doubt we'll find the lost treasures of Azlant down here, but it isn't boring either."

Stepping to the plank, he tests it with his weight and carefully steps onto it.

Baddacus marches past the coat check, offering only a dismissive grunt to the teen standing there.

When Heryn explains that the fool's errand must wait for her break he nearly looses his temper, but being in a bar has its advantages, and when he spots a friendly face among the locals he orders a couple drinks and heads over to offer her one.

"Well met, Janira! Been a few months since that confirmation run, and the Captain's have finally decided to give me some work. But, would you believe Dreng's got me on a mission to raid the wine cellar? Bah!"

Baddacus' axe clangs to the ground, his mouth hanging open. "Wait... so we really are getting him booze?"

I've played and run it before.

An armored warrior crests the top of a deserted side-street and looks down upon the gathering. Bristling with weapons and carrying a double-bladed axe over one shoulder, he approaches at a slow stride. From a distance he cuts an imposing figure, but as he reaches the group you realize that he is a halfling, and only about half the height of the average human.

Upon Dreng's surprise reveal he jumped into a fighting stance, and was just about ready to bury his axe in the Venture-fool's head, or maybe kneecap, when he realized the ruse.

Breathing heavy through his nose, he's annoyed by the trick, and insulted at the job. "We're here on a mission to get booze!?"

"Hruh?!" A curious snort comes from behind a couch near the back of the Lodge. A clatter like the pots and pans in a kitchen comes from area, then a double-bladed axe rises into view and begins marching towards the door. When it comes out from behind the couch an armored halfling is revealed to be the cause of its movement. Tall folk nearby earn a scowl, and those in his path get a growl to move aside as he makes his way to a meeting.

Baddacus snores loudly. A stout halfling in hide armor, he sprawls in one of the chairs next to a bristling pile of weapons on the floor. He arrived ready for battle, but that was five minutes ago, before the history lesson put him to sleep.
