Grand Lodge 1/5

If I purchase one of the "D" hexes, I spend 2 prestige points to acquire the land, then I get 2 prestige points back, so there is no net change in my prestige. The only possible advantage is that there are more hexes adjacent to the hexes I already own.
The "B" hexes make sense to me, since my total fame score increases, giving me access to more and better magic items. The net cost for a "B" hex is 1 prestige point, because I spend 2 and regain 1.

Do I understand this correctly?

The question I neglected to ask was whether my understanding was correct. So you answered my question. Thanks!

We are playing Emerald Spire, using the fast/slow advancement suggested. If I understand correctly, I get 4 fame points for a level in fast mode, and 2 fame points for a level that I play in slow mode.

(Or less, if we don't complete what needs to be done.)

The "Land Rush" boons are available in either case, for a cost of 2 prestige points.

Pray forgive my poor searching skills if this has been answered already. I am not nearly as clever as this character, with her 16 INT and lots of Knowledge ranks.

Ah, well.
At least I can get a bonus on my Day Job roll. Hurrah. Yippee.
I cannot cast Read Magic, but it seems that I do not need to do so, since the class description says I do not need to decipher magical writings. I assume that text applies both to spellbooks and to scrolls.

It also appears that I can copy formulas from a wizard's spellbook, but not from scrolls.

An investigator adds her level to Craft (Alchemy) checks when making an alchemical substance (which I can't do anyway in PFS). An investigator can also use Craft (Alchemy) to identify potions, but the bonus does not apply, if I read the rule correctly. Have I the misfortune to be correct?

Where is it established that an investigator cannot use a spell-trigger item?
Alchemist's alchemy class feature specifically states alchemists can still use spell-trigger items. Investigators lack such wording.

Well, now...

I am not quite as happy now as I was before I read this thread. I had missed that difference.
