Ba'andu is the son of a medicine man from a tribe in a country far away, exiled for reasons he never told Ba'andu, and an unknown dead mother. When his father arrived at the first city with Ba'andu, an old man helped them settle in a little cabin outside a small town named Hallowfield. Here Ba'andu grew up with his father teaching him his strange magic, and helped him create a magical bond with his pet viper Kaya. He taught him to curse and to cure people, to be proud and never let anyone do you wrong or hold you down.

Ba'andu likes to play up his magic as more mysterious than it really is, and in Hallowfield he is viewed with a mix of fear and respect, with people often keeping a distance from him. He is known as one you don't cross if you don't want your manhood or worse cursed, but the rumors don't do him justice. If you are respectfull he is good hearted and will help you if he can.

Recently he was contacted by the old man who helped him and his father and asked for a favor. He was becomming old and wanted to see his daughter a last time, but she lived in Hallowfield and he would need an escort to travel the dangerous roads. Since Ba'andu grew up there and know the wilderness pretty well the old man asked him to accompany him on what may well turn out to be his last travel.
