This truly is a general's plan. But we are where we are. We go forward and meet the ambush, or we find another way out, which seems unlikely. The alternative is we find whether the guard knew about the ambush. The pirate says all this very quickly, then adds Are there stables to go through?

The pirate falls in behind Bostarg and hisses quietly. Strange. We mocked the idea of planning our escape and now we're looking at contingencies. Our best killer mocks the idea of killing. I had hoped to form up with folk who knew how to work as a team. He snatches up a dropped weapon and rolls his eyes. If you intend to leave the three men, I can put them to sleep at least, though I'd rather save such magic for new adversaries.

Avrandes reacts with a confused look. Refuge from within? We can handle ten or so guards if we act now. We can recruit the first workers on my ship or the first warrior in yoyr rebellion. And we can rob the king of one of his holding facilities. We should leave straightaway, and leave this place in rubble as we go. Holding up here means giving them a chance at reinforcement.

The quiet human speaks up. I thought it interesting that talk before our rscape was a waste of time, but talk during it seems worthwhile. He looks around for a moment. My friend, if you supply us with this information, you must know your life is forfeit. Join us in abandoning this place and prevent your own execution. In fact, if we burn this place, the bodies left behind may cover our tracks and allow us to take others. We could begin our little uprising with a labor force.

[Ooc]Sorry, gang. I posted already and it vanished. Happens a lot feom my PC and posting from my phone is a learning experience in progress. After getting full view of the map, Avrandes will move towards the door where the noise is from. He will cast sleep immediately if the guards sound animated and prepared to join the fray. He will wait til next turn if not.

Perception 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (20) + 1 = 21 This is certainly going well. murmurs Avrandes as he looks to the East. Beatrix' warning causes his face to tighten into a hateful grimace. He moves to the room where some guards may still be asleep and murmurs a few words. The spite in his voice keeps them from being intelligible. I cast sleep on the guards, with the intention of preventing the alert ones from waking the rest. Will DC 15.

The pirate witch says nothing as the other prisoners debate use of the giant. If he's only a distraction, he whispers to Haruk, let him run into the prison to draw the soldiers away and hamper their pursuit.[/] He eyes the ogre's size sppreciatively. . If we intend to use him abroad, he should narrel through our final exit. If he lives, we keep him.

Also casting mage armor. Avrandes nods approval to the strong man with the daggers. Agreed. We can die cursing them defiantly, or... here he looks at Haruk, they can die after their families learn of their hidden sins and they confess they should have treated their prisoners with more compassion. The former pirate notices the quiet stance of the rogue and holds out a palm for silence. Perception 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (15) + 1 = 16

Two more posts eaten. I don't actually mean to go so long without posts. Looking into clearing out my cache for Paizo tomorrow - this is the only site that does this. So, erm.....were we really that averse to taking a few minutes to form a plan? I only get two first level spells, ya know. : }

Avrandes clings to the iron bars and searches the rooms beyond for the rush of more guards. Without looking back, he hales Morthos, making no effort to hide the annoyance in his voice. This is why a few minutes to plan would have been better. Now instead of escaping beneath notice, we may have to push past every soldier here. When a pirate boards a ship before the ships collide, he drowns. Avrandes delays, waiting for more guards to appear in the cells and hallways beyond. Can we get clarity on how many prisoners are in neighboring cells?
male human witch 1
Your new found friend should open these doors and let the other prisoners loose. Not to escape, mind you. Just to cover his tracks and keep the guards from noticing us. Avrandes looms sideways at Morthos while he moves near the cell door and looksa across the prison floor. We had three days, my new friend. Acting rashly means unforeseen events. We may wish to know the others' gifts before we call the guard down on ourselves. Looking over at the red-skinned priest, he says. Your friend. Ask him how many guards on this block and when relief is coming.

The pirate strokes the scar along his jaw, still seated but grateful to have his hands back. Everyone wants to play their role. I say we share information first. Bringingthe citadel on us seems unwise when we could take full stock of our resources and plan from there. He looks to make eye contact with several of his new companions, settling with a grimace on Haruk. After all, I would never board a ship without knowing my crew. Joining combat with the wrong ally is a sure way to die in less than three days. Giving his comments a few moments to resonate, he purses his lips and begins again. I am empowered with some skill in magic. I can curse guards who may notice us, and put several to sleep if we encounter a patrol. I can fight, and I can be trusted to pull my weight here and out there.

It makes sense to abandon this place together, and also to leave someone else holding the blame. If you are being provided a safe place to rest while the next journey is determined, there's no reason not to pool our talents and leave together. The witch-pirate looks out to the jovial guards and sneers. They seem like idiots now, but they are organized and hold the advatnage. Let us hope they are not prepared for the likes of we.[/b[ We get a ruling on whether I can point and cast message?

The human with the scarred face looks at the kercheif on the floor. He could kick out at a guard bendong to pick it up. Or perhaps it lay on the floor concealing a skeleton key. He considers several other possibilities. Avrandes watches the guard carefully. Moving his mouth slightly, he mouths quiet words and points awkwardly at each cell mate. Cast message on any prisoner I can point to in my chains. Give them the noise they expect. But use this means to plan our escape. We must know our plan and our resources. And we must know who intends to stay. I will meet this benefactor at the moors before I decide whether to reship.

The second pirate, last in the procession by virtue of his recent capture, sits and observes. The movements of trained guards. The posture of the prisoners as his procession passed their cells. The recitation of the anxious gnome. The early comments of the other inmates in the room. His expression is dull, as if he were fighting sleep. His torn tunic is stained with sweat and blood. A prominent scar crawls across the line of his left jaw, making his face instantly memorable. At long last he speaks. I spent three days on driftwood once. Three days is more than most will survive. But before my ship broke apart, I took a half-empty waterskin from another deckhand. I was lucid the whole time. Three days with naught but my fate to consider. It's a long, sleepless time. He looks over the other prisoners quietly and then nods his support. Three days is plenty of time. |
