As a female, Astrid was brought up by her mother learning the ways of the household. While the men were away trading and raiding family life was relatively peaceful. The conditions were harsh at times but as a village all came together to be sure everyone prospered.

At the age of fourteen Astrid was married to a young man Sigurd. Astrid became the head of her own household and it was not a year before she had her first child named in honor of his father. Astrid’s husband was a good man and provided well for his family. Astrid had two more children, a daughter Swanhilda a year and a half later and another son Keiran two years after that.

Shortly after the birth of her son Keiran the village was attacked by rivals. Unbeknownst to all the greater powers were orchestrating events. Dark powers had sent these rivals to attack the village and steal away Astrid. It was during this attack at Freyja made her move more directly.

The Goddess pulled the young woman into her own realm as she fled from the village. Freyja explained to her that she was a special young woman and that she was willing to guide Astrid to her grand destiny. She also explained that the attack on the village was an attempt to capture the young Norse woman and exploit her for their own end.

It was a lot for Astrid to take in at first. Not only did the gods they worshiped exist but so did many of the evils that they feared. Astrid also mourned for her lost husband and children. It was many years from that day that Astrid discovered that her youngest son, Kerian, did survive the attack with those who managed to escape the village. It was many more years before she would be allowed to see that son in person.

At first Astrid remained within Freyja’s realm, learning mostly from her servants and at times from the goddess directly. Times passed differently within the Goddess’ realm and while a year or two might have passed for Astrid decades or more would pass in the real world. Astrid was allowed for a time to remain in the real world where she would learn what was happening with not only the world but her own family as the many generations passed.

Astrid was taught how to use her natural beauty as a weapon. And in a short time Astrid could manage to gain a foothold within a region. The longer she was allowed to remain, the more her influence would spread. While Astrid could be a potent force if she stepped into the lime light, Freyja made sure and Astrid actually preferred, to work behind the scenes. She became an intermediately for many influential people, fixing their problems one way or the other as circumstances demanded. This also put the woman in a position of power of knowing a great many things about people.

Astrid’s latest foray she was asked to gain access to Monoc Securities She was not told what tshe was to look for but to find a way in and report when she did. It did not take Astrid long before she found the leading man of one of Monoc’s top operations in New York, Ivor Ragnvald. It took longer than most but Astrid took her time to foster the relationship with Ivor. Astrid never lied to Ivor explaining that she was a ‘Fixer” and had an associating with Frejya, but she did leave out much of her past. Astrid had been careful over the years not to leave too many trails to a new life many years ahead. What was provided checked out when the man ran her background, as any good agent would do.

It was almost two years before Astrid broke down the man’s defenses and was let into his life. And while it was an assignment from Freyja herself, she had fallen for Ivor. He was someone that even Astrid had come to trust and love.

Two months later, Ivor was being assigned at Monoc’s head of operations in Australia, replacing Egil Kron who had mysteriously vanished. Ivor told Astrid he was leaving the next day. He was torn as he too was in love with Astrid but knew he had to go. He was very surprised when Astrid seemed to drop everything and go with him to Australia.

In the last nine months Astrid has done what she does best and has established a base of contacts and work for herself. After informing Freyja of her progress the Goddess was quite happy and has informed her to continue her efforts.
