Description:
Astrid has red long wavy hair and green eyes. She can become fairly pale but if exposed to the sun she takes on a skin tone more akin to her vasirian blood.
She's 5'10" tall, most of that due to her quite long legs.
On her lower back she sports a tattoo of a rose with an intricate motif of thorns, a symbol of Nocticula is hidden among the thorns, noticeable only if you know where to look and what are you searching for.
Background:
While many engage in the life of a pirate for the promise of wealth, or freedom, some does it for the thrill.
That was the case for the man known as Captain Jaryl "the pretty", a moniker never pronounced on his presence.
He gained that name both for his appearance, as he was well groomed and somewhat androgynous in his look, and for his appreciation for the art.
Jaryl was the descendant of one of the first free captains and one of the ones who eventually founded Bloodcove after retiring later on, and while his notable ancestors granted him a certain notoriety among pirates, the thing that made him famous was the tales of his extreme debauchery.
As he roamed the sea searching for the ultimate experience he took upon a cultist of Nocticula as her mistress, and eventually named her first mate. An act that enraged his crew and eventually lead to mutiny and the marooning of the couple.
Jaryl died on that island, his mistress survived.
She was found and brought on Hell Harbor along with her newborn daughter.
Astrid grew up there, she became a singer in the Three-Horned Hall, and sometimes, working on his mother's brothel.
In time she grew quite obsessed with the attentions she received and she outgrown both the opera and the brothel.
Tales of her mother's exploit with Captain Jaryl fascinated her and she started to work on a way to replicate those adventures.
She seduced a young captain and embarked with him on the seas, enjoying a nice share of the spoils for a minimal amount of effort.
That captain died after a few months and got replaced by an older man, harder to manipulate and less desirable for Astrid. So she departed after a stop at Port Peril and started to hang out at the Formidably Maid, a local tavern, searching for her next prey.
Unbeknown to her, in the end she was the one preyed upon.
