Actually, what it more reminds me of is when Mark Rein-Hagan decided to go West to Hollywood to seek his fortune after the success of the Original World of Darkness. And Mark is doing...what?...now? Kinda sad, actually. I thought he had a lot to contribute but after an initial buzz...he dropped out of sight. Sure, White Wolf continues but, at least in my mind, the New WoD pales in comparison to the Old WoD.
I kinda hope Monte--gods bless him for everything he's done for our hobby--doesn't overestimate his cross-genre potential in the way that Mark did. I'd hate to be asking "Whatever happened to Monte?" in a couple of years...
