"Let life steady us all in the face of these unyielding horrors. I am still learning my own abilities Sir Ruoren. I have only healed allies in this manner before. In my training at the local temple I was taught that I can flood the area around us for 30ft. with life's healing energy. I have never encountered horrors like these before, but according to my studies they should be weakened or destroyed by this energy." Asara stands firm against her own fear and the power of the undead to strike fear into her heart. Her strength sustained by her hate for them and her own determination to not see any of these new friends perish at their hands. In the spirit of doing what everyone else is doing bless would give us all a +1 on attack roles and a +1 on saves against fear and when I channel is will do 3d6 of damage to all undead within the 30ft range.

"We should stop them as far away from the cave as possible so as to keep as much distance between them and the others. No one else will die by these creatures fowl hands if I have anything to say about it." Asara moves to the front of the group slowly demonstrating caution and concern for attracting too much attention to herself. "I shall focus my life energy on the ghost. I do believe its evil will be no match for the power of life." Asara's hand still shakes, but the determination in her voice seems to be also signify a steadying of her nerves. Asara plans to cast bless when the undead are about two rounds away and then will ready action channel positive energy with the intent of harming undead when they are one round away.

1d20 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4 Asara clutches the small silver cross that dangles from her wrist on a silken cord in her left hand and loudly says, "Let life's energy steady us all." Asara casts bless on the party. She then clutches the shield in her left hand and her mother's mace in her right clumsily readying herself for the incoming onslaught and mumbles, "This is for you mother."

Taken aback by the odd appearance of Jaed, Asara thinks to herself, "strange times indeed." Attempting to hide how overwhelmed and concerned she feels Asara smiles and says, "Nice to meet you all even if it is under such concerning circumstances. Can someone tell me more about what is going on? I have the sense that bad things are coming, but am not sure what they might be." Out of what is clearly a habit she holds her silver cross in her hand and rubs it as she speaks. Although it is out of her character she is suddenly concerned about the motives of these peculiar strangers. roll sense motive [d] 1d20+10 [/d]

Looking at the man with concern, Asara stops in her tracks and responds, I have grown up on the outskirts of this small town sir. Clearly strange happenings happenings are coming. It seems my fate is calling me to the road and the road is calling me away. I will gladly accompany you if you will have me. I am Asara and believe I may be able to be helpful although I have never ventured far from this place. Asara begins to move into the circle. She seems determined and distracted at once. It is clear to anyone experienced that she is not comfortable with the way the armor she is wearing fits her. The weight of the armor and weapons seem to be unfamiliar on her slight frame. Her blond disheveled hair and pale skin give her a ghostly look. She is clearly young, far too young to be out on a night like this.

I am not exactly sure how to jump in at this point, but here goes. I am going to use the "holy" nature of the cave as my in. Gonna throw in some quick character background to sort of make up for how much I have missed. All of my posts won't be this long. On her way to the cave to meditate, as she has everyday since the voices came to her, Asara is distracted by the weird happenings in town. She can't seem to shake the eerie feeling that she has had over the past few days. She had never invested much in the rumors and legends of the small town she had been raised in, but tonight she was wearing the armor and weapons that her mother left behind when she was called away by the church of Sarenrae to fight a rising tide of undead in a neighboring kingdom. Something told Asara that after tonight she might not be able to head home. Besides the voices have been calling on her to begin traveling to deepen her understanding of the mysteries of life. As she walked she ponders her mother and the events of the past year. She has been gone for well over a year and Asara has accepted that she probably perished on her quest. She was always uncomfortable with her mother's service as a Cleric of Sarenrae and resisted the ongoing religious teachings of her mother. It came as a surprise to her that in the months after her mother parted she began to hear voices. Voices that told her many things, but called her to ponder and protect life whenever possible. Since that night when the voices called her to the local cave rumored to be a holy spot Asara has returned most nights to listen to the voices and meditate. Although she began taking her ongoing teachings at the local temple more seriously she did not invest her faith in them. She seemed odd and distracted. The only place where she has been able to quiet the voices has been while meditating in the cave where she was lead that first night. With all of this on her mind she stumbles into the area surrounding the cave and spots a group of strangers the like of which she hasn't seen in town together before. Trusting in the fates she calls out, What has the lot of you out here at this time of night? What are you doing in the cave? The boldness of her words does not disguise the fear in her voice.
Xane, He said we take max at first level so wouldn't you have needed to roll 4d10 and add your ten from lvl 1 + con bonus/lvl + favored class bonus/lvl (if you went this way rather than skill)? I could have done mine wrong though. I am just figuring this stuff out. All, I have my character up. I need to do equipment stuff and write a brief background story still. This is [b}Tomas[/b] |
