I was waiting for selen to respond but I think i'll just go ahead, assuming the casts a light spell if she has one, otherwise I have darkvision 60 ft. to help myself

"I will see about where it goes. But maybe we should also examine those tubes" Arrahska dives back down, splashing her tail fin and disappearing beneath the surface. She follows the copper tubes under water.

"I can see in the dark actually, but some light might help, if you have something that stays lit under water." There is an expression of joy on Arrahska's face that none of you have ever really seen from her before.

When Selen finishes making her way down Arrahska simply releases the spell on herself and then slithers over to the cave. "Looks like I should check this out. I hope you don't mind me swimming in our potential water source."
She gets down on her hands and slowly slips into the water, savoring every moment of the water surrounding her from her face along her body and tail up to the tip of her fin. After a few moments of looking around under water and just enjoying the tough of it, her head breaks the surface again "It's been too long... I will see where the cave goes."

Arrahska invokes words of power, holding on to the magical energy she calls up the stairs. "I got down okay, looks like this is skippy's nest. You can come now, one by one, just to be sure."

Casting targeted glide and holding the charge. Ready action to cast it should anyone fall on the stairs.

"What I had in mind was not a spell to hold the stone together but to let anyone glide down safely should the stairs give way below them. But if Skippy uses it regularly, it should be stable enough to hold any one of us.", Arraska slides forward and tries the stairs. Not having the anatomy for which stairs are designed she has some problems at first but begins making her way downstairs. "When I say it, you guys follow one by one."

Arrahska looks at the staircase "This looks precarious, but I know a spell that should allow us to get down safely."

"Skippy it is!" Arrahska cheerfully proclaims their new companion's name, before focusing back on the task at hand "We can stow the stuff that might be weighing us down in one of these buildings and then move on to exploring. As for water I think we can get some from the nearby stream, although I would want to check if it is safe first."

Arrashska finishes her spell, and Slobad grows to twice his original size.

"Not a lot I can do about this creature. I'm afraid,", she backs off, spear still at the ready.

So it turns out that I never really spent my starting gold aside from a spear and haramaki, and as a result I have nothing useful at the moment. I'm not even sure why this is, might be that my log in timed out while i was doing my inventory.

Arrahska incants a spell and directs its energy into Slobad, causing him to grow to twice his original size. "This might help."

Enlarge person on slobad. Casting time is one round so he will only be enlarged from turn 2 on, but it's currently the only meaningful thing i have in my repertoire at least against non-humanoids.

I think it's alright if you roll initiative for everyone, Avian, that might easily save up to a day in posting time.

"Hmmm , maybe some sort of arcane force literally exploded there, leaving all of this in its aftermath..." Arrahska says looking at the crater near the center of the parched circle. She then turns her attention south. "Those ruins might tell us more about the people who lived here. Maybe even have some answers to this mess. And if nothing else at least provide decent shelter."

Arrahska extends a hand to her familiar "Thank you, Vorana, you can come back."
As the sea krait slithers back up and around her arm and melds into a tattoo again she turns to the others: "I think I've seen enough. We should find out what caused this and how dangerous it really is."

"I wouldn't think so, the magic on the other side of the barrier seems to be what animated those plants. This magic seems completely unpredictable, it seems to completely deplete the moisture from everything within it, which is why everything is parched. At the same time it did, that to your armor, while dispelling any spell passing through."
Arrahska puts her right arm forward, displaying the winding snake tattoo.
"Vorana dear, I am going to need your help.", the tattoo starts to unattach from her skin and take the more tangible form of a ringed sea krait. "You're not going to like this, but I promise I'll make it quick.", she sets the snake on the ground, "please cross that barrier for me again.", while the snake turns to slither across the barrier Arrahska attempts once again to levitate the stone, by casting the spell at it through the barrier. While she does this she keeps her mind focussed on Vorana's emotions.

I want to see if the spell would work being cast through the barrier, and also see if my empathic link with my familiar works while it crosses through and is on the other side of the barrier.

I can think of so many more experiments to perform with that barrier, but I dont know if we are getting too hung up on a detail here.

"The same thing as with my detection spell. It was dispelled. I think for your safety you shold take your armor off before crossing. I don't know if the barrier would destroy the enchantment or just suppress it momentarily."

"I'm not sure how immediately dangerous it is to us. We seem to be able to move through just fine after all." Arrahska looks around for a small object, like a stick or stone, when she finds one she casts another spell on it. "Let's hee what happens if i move an obviously visible magical effect through the barrier."

I cast mage hand on any nearby rock, stick, or even clump of dirt and mover it back through the barrier with the spell to see what happens.

"The barrier reacted with your armor somehow, Slobad." Arrahska now also crosses the barrier. "It's magic, all right. But something is fundamentally wrong with it... Not just this,", she points at the separating line: "but with magic itself. It's as if it is... broken, in ruins. Something must have caused this, and it might be a potential danger."
