Can I have swim checks from everyone please except grn'nak whose on the side of the bank. You can take 10 if you want.

I'll take 10. With a Str mod of 2 and an armor check penalty of 0, that gives me a result of 12.

Since the lead seems to be a popular postion, Armandia follows last to guard the rear.

So in addition to trying to spot any possible dangers in the water, she looks behind now and then. Perception = 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (7) + 3 = 10

I, too, will probably be unable to post until Sunday.

Female Chelaxian Cleric (of Iomedae) 1

Armandia seems oddly distracted by the fox eating the crow. Abruptly, she turns. "Hm? Oh yeah, let's go."

Female Chelaxian Cleric (of Iomedae) 1

"Funny, I've never had this effect on an animal before." Armandia slowly crouches down, just to see if the fox will lick her or bite her. Focusing her attention on the fox, she absently mutters "Oh, could someone check the hobgoblin for treasure?"

Female Chelaxian Cleric (of Iomedae) 1

Armandia cuts the birds' throats to make certain they're dead. Then she checks the hobgoblin and, in the unlikely event that it shows any sign of life, asks the party "Do we want this one alive for interrogation, or something?" Assuming that no one objects, she cuts the throat of the hobgoblin as well. Once assured that all enemy combatants are dead, she returns to the party.

Presumably, Grn'nak or somebody has gotten rid of the arrow and tended to Brit's wound by this time. If not, I'll do it.

Then Armandia mutters "Right. Let's see if my faith is any stronger this time."

IOW, let's see if I can roll any better. I'll channel positive energy this time, in the hopes of healing Brit, Grn'nak, and the fox all at once.

Channel energy = 1d6 ⇒ 5

Also, Armandia retrieves her crossbow, and all the bolts that she can find. Unless Allan_Treebeard says otherwise, I'll assume she finds them all, returning herself and Mezari to full complement

I still don't know if the terrain is difficult.

It makes a difference, because of the way I want to move. By moving to H-19, then diagonally to G-18, then diagonally again to H-17, I can get behind the crow in I-17 without provoking an AoO. The idea is to try to flank the crow with Grn'nak, so he will hopefully move 5 feet and flank the crow with me so he can get the sneak attack bonus.

If the terrain IS difficult, then this will take my entire turn, and I won't be able to do anything else.

If the terrain is NOT difficult, then that movement only took a single move action, in which case I also want to drop my bow and draw my longsword, so I can threaten the crow and truly flank it with Grn'nak.

Female Chelaxian Cleric (of Iomedae) 1

Initiative = 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (13) + 1 = 14

Is the terrain still difficult? I'll probably want to use a move action to move as close to the enemy as possible and, assuming that I'm still not close enough for a melee attack, shoot the closest enemy that's not within melee range of any ally.

Attack = 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (12) + 1 = 13
Damage = 1d10 ⇒ 9

Female Chelaxian Cleric (of Iomedae) 1

Armandia is cautious too. She does NOT approach the fox, because she doesn't want to scare it even more. She does, however, draw her crossbow and a bolt, look around for possible hidden dangers, and listen for any suspicious sounds while staying rooted to the spot.

Perception check = 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (10) + 3 = 13

Female Chelaxian Cleric (of Iomedae) 1

"Yes, let's go."

Female Chelaxian Cleric (of Iomedae) 1

"I'm sorry... what's all this about a shaman?"

Female Chelaxian Cleric (of Iomedae) 1

"Let me see about that leg."

Armandia loses her "Magic Stone" spell to cast "Cure Light Wounds." hp healed = 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2

Grn'nak wrote:
"Hrrghn...wonder if he was the shaman, or just cursed by one?", while pointing to the discarded placard.

"Good question. Zombies could come from arcane OR divine means..."

If the archaic symbols on the placard are religious, perhaps Armandia might know of them? Knowledge (Religion) skill roll = 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5

EDIT: What is it with this <bleep> dice roller?!? Except for my Diplomacy attempt, I haven't made a single decent roll this game!

Female Chelaxian Cleric (of Iomedae) 1

This may be my last chance to post for another day or two, so I just want to make it clear that I'll wait to see the results of the zombie's actions in round 3 before I declare my own actions in round 3.

Female Chelaxian Cleric (of Iomedae) 1

"Curse my lack of faith," Armandia mutters. "A holier person could have felled that abomination at once."

Unfortunately, my BAB is 0, so I can't combine drawing a weapon with a regular move. So...

She tries to circle around the zombie (moving diagonally to H-10) while drawing her sword.

Female Chelaxian Cleric (of Iomedae) 1

I hope you're not all waiting for ME. Because I want to see what the zombie does before I post my next action, just like last round.

Obviously, if Allan_Treebeard just hasn't gotten around to posting yet, that's fine. I just want to make sure I'm not holding things up.

Armandia walks foward holding the glowing symbol of Iomadae towards the zombie. Flashing holy light shoots forth from the symbol in all directions searing putrid flesh from rotting bone as the beast is hit with its full force...

Heh. Maybe to the other PCs it looks that impressive. To Armandia, it looks like a weak, dim, pathetic light... perhaps indicative of her faltering faith? she wonders.

Thank you. Yes, I figured that the opponent would probably beat me in initiative, so I would see it and change my actions accordingly.

Armandia walks forward 15 feet (a move action) and holds up the holy symbol hanging on her neck.

Channel energy against undead 1d6 ⇒ 2

Female Chelaxian Cleric (of Iomedae) 1

And by the way, how literally are we supposed to interpret that map? Are we, for instance, supposed to treat the trees that take up less than a square as typical trees, and those that take more than one square as massive trees? Should we assume, when moving, that every square has light undergrowth (as you seem to imply by saying "there is difficult terrain all around you")?

Female Chelaxian Cleric (of Iomedae) 1

Initiative = 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3

EDIT: And seeing as how I've rolled crap for initiative, I think I'll wait until my turn to post my actions.

Brit stands up, makes a quick but thorough check of his gear and will lead the others into the woods.

"Lead on," says Armandia, who follows Brit.

Female Chelaxian Cleric (of Iomedae) 1

"It was nice meeting you, Laurel," Armandia says, (although this is, in point of fact, the first time Armandia has spoken to her,) and leaves to join the others.

Female Chelaxian Cleric (of Iomedae) 1

Diplomacy check = 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (14) + 6 = 20

Plus the "Charming" trait gives me another +1 if the bald guy might find Armandia attractive.

Female Chelaxian Cleric (of Iomedae) 1

Under the circumstances, I guess the DC for a Diplomacy check would be insanely high. Still, I can roleplay it, even though that won't do anything.

Armandia keeps her hand far from her weapon - not that this fools anyone for a moment - and approaches the bald man. "Excuse me. I'm terribly sorry to intrude, Mister... what's your name?"

Female Chelaxian Cleric (of Iomedae) 1

"I'm with you."

Female Chelaxian Cleric (of Iomedae) 1

I deducted 4 sp.

Armandia can only nod grimly. She knows well the look of people waiting in death's shadow, and it never gets easier to take. She joins the others without a word.

Female Chelaxian Cleric (of Iomedae) 1

Armandia frowns. "I WAS going to stop at the temple today... but I guess you're right. Being ready for this job takes priority."

She then inquires at the inn about an available room.

Female Chelaxian Cleric (of Iomedae) 1

"Well," mutters Armadia, thoughtfully. "I may have doubts that I can really do any good in this world, but how much harm could it do to cure a disease? THAT'S worthwhile, anyway." She stands up. "I'll volunteer," she says, not even asking about payment.

(This will probably be the last time I can post, until late tomorrow night, at the earliest.)

Female Chelaxian Cleric (of Iomedae) 1

I kind of got the impression that Felmor, Mezari, and I were having one conversation, while Britton and Grn'nak were having another separate one somewhere else in the bar.

"I came here looking for a temple to Iomedae. I heard that there was one here. Do either of you know anything about it? Or about this Lady Cirthana who's supposed to be in charge there?"

Female Chelaxian Cleric (of Iomedae) 1

After a split-second hesitation, she replies "Armandia. So tell me, what brings you to Falcon's Hollow?"

Female Chelaxian Cleric (of Iomedae) 1

"Is the wine any good?" Then more softly: "Oh, why do I bother to ask? I'll take the wine if it tastes like vinegar."

Female Chelaxian Cleric (of Iomedae) 1
Felmor Traker wrote:
"Name's Felmor by th' way. 'preciate you keepin' me company, lass. I figure us strangers have to stick together right?"

Armandia turns, surprised to hear this. In Galt, people are very suspicious of strangers - sometimes rightly so. This looked like a chance for a good conversation. She approaches the table. "Hi. Mind if I sit down?"

Female Chelaxian Cleric (of Iomedae) 1

Armandia sits down and waits for the Barman or a barmaid. Out of habit, she keeps her eyes peeled for any sign of trouble, yet her primary thought, having made a long and tiring journey, is whether Falcon's Hollow has decent wine.
