1d20 ⇒ 8

Armand attempts to jump after the crow man, keeping the pressure on the coward.

Trained in Jumping, will add might effort if needed(don't know difficulty of test)

Armand watching as his mental assault is dodged, decides to pull the daggers out of his legs and move in closer so he could squeeze the life out of that bird with his bare hands.

Spending next turn pulling them out.

1d20 ⇒ 2
1d20 ⇒ 14

1d20 ⇒ 8

Armand takes two daggers to his knees and becomes immobilized. He roars, not in pain, but with fury, unleashing his thoughts and directing a mental onslaught as he feels himself unable to move.

Paradox Onslaught (mental), adding effort for damage if possible.

1d20 ⇒ 13

Armand ducks under the arrow and moves to attack the one eyed crow.

1d20 ⇒ 15 Adding might effort for damage.

I posted my Round 3 with round 2 reactions(on the previous page)

My resonance shield lasts 1 minute, about how many rounds? Minor effect is attacker takes 1 damage while activated.

Armand misses wildly but quickly recovers in time to dodge multiple strikes both close and from afar.

Closer Bandit: 1d20 ⇒ 18

Crossbow: 1d20 ⇒ 11

Round 3 Action:
Armand, ideally positioned, counter attacks after dodging with his stony fists and swings at the closest bandit, pronouncing with his large legs to add weight to the attack. Trained in jumping, don't think a roll is required, just adding description for using effort.
Add Might effort to add damage: 1d20 ⇒ 18

Armand launches himself at the Crow, furious he continues to fight against overwhelmning odds. Ignorant bird!Armand thinks to himself as he swings at his good eye with is fists but misses horribly.

1d20 ⇒ 3

I'd take a dagger for Quinn since we stepped up to confront one eye. If not, then deflect one of the arrows onto an attacker.

Armand acts with lightning reflexes as he dodges both shots and moves forward to close the distance between him and the one eyed crow man.

You won't live long enough to regret this day! he roars finally activating his resonance shield.

1d20 ⇒ 20
1d20 ⇒ 10

Posted earlier my round 1 action, activating resonance field and moving closer to the 3 enemies that are closer. I want to be able to attack next turn, so if I need to expend any effort or roll an action to do so, please let me know. Trained in Jumping if that helps leap over their cover or get me closer somehow.

Round 1 Action:

Armand activates a resonance field around himself hoping to shield himself while in front and exposed to possible multiple enemies attacks. A faint red glow eminates from Armand's stony skin as he readies himself for any attack.

Cost - 1 Intellect point.
Is that cost reduced by my Edge? making it 0?

I posted leaving town under the assumption stuff translated to this recursion, I would have purchased a first aid kit (because I'm trained in medicine) and some fur/hide light armor. If it's not too late can I just say I purchased them at full price?

Initiative : 1d20 ⇒ 2

Trying to wet your beak on the wrong travellers! Armand roars stepping forward with Quinn. I will crush you with my bare hands he yells intimidatingly.

1d20 ⇒ 2

Or not...

Armand has all he needs and more, having an extra range weapon should anyone ask to use one.

As they make their journey he feels once again at home in the wilderness and appreciates the tranquillity.

1d20 ⇒ 5

His mind wonders and he more self absorbed than usual, unable to notice much around him.

I don't have any outlets Armand replies in kind, No need for me to wipe my ass with rabbits suddenly realizing he no longer needs to use the toilet or worry about which leaves are safe in the wilderness.

Agreed, let's return to the Tavern we ate at and rest. I won't need a bed, doubt it would support my weight anyways... I feel as though I could sleep standing up in this form, though I might require a shaking to awaken.

[ooc] I don't mind if we skip ahead to the next morning, we'll get cheap rooms and/or share, Armand doesn't need a bed, just a place to stand. [/b]

Armand takes the map and replies : I believe we have all we need, we shall return when we have the rod. Then stands ready to depart with his companions.

As they leave he asks if anyone wishes to shop around town for items or information before departing for the mountains. He suggests some food for the journey as surely they'll need to eat and unsure what lies ahead of them.

Armand looks over each and suspects what a few of them are before they're explained, not yet understanding where the knowledge comes from, but content that they aren't being deceived.

The wrist band could be helpful in getting us back here and out of a tight spot once we've recovered the rod....That mirror might help us to peer inside a room before we enter, which could prove valuable once inside the ruins....That wand might summon a creature that could distract the Hydra, but we must be careful that it doesn't attack us instead...I am particularly interested in the head-band he says with a smile, picking it up for closer inspection and putting on his head, but only after he takes one of the eyes of the bird he carried before and sets it down on the table. I think it'll fit...If we need to go toe to toe with the Hydra he might have a few skills worth stealing that might mean the difference in life and death...Yes, I'll hold onto this one if no one objects, but I can't carry too many, one of you should carry an eye, if its too disgusting for you we could trade it in the markets for a more useful cypher.

After fiddling with the headband and making sure it fits and he can put it on, he stows it in a bag, assuming no one else makes a claim on it.

There doesn't seem to be anything overtly offensive, I still have this cypher Armand says, raising up the jewel he believes will explode in fire. But perhaps we can peruse the markets on our way out, each of you should be able to carry another cypher that could prove more helpful if the fighting gets thick. Then turning to the mage he raises the jewel and explain where he got it from. Those Farstons summoned some skeletons and after we killed them, one of them dropped this showing him to confirm his own intuition and limited knowledge of the cypher, looking for confirmation from the Mage, having never actually used a cypher and still a little unsure of their strange nature.

I hypothesized the same earlier Armand says after the mage breaks the impossible news. Do you know how many recursions there are? How many have you been to? he says inquisitively, letting his guard down now that the mage is so willing to share information and confirm his own thoughts.

After some answers, Armand turns to the group, If you all feel ready, then perhaps we should arm ourselves with what he has to offer and be on our way...The trail of the Farston's grows colder with each passing minute he says turning his gaze to Cassie, not optimistic in being able to find them, but hating to be the bearer of bad news, which was too often in his profession.

As long as the geas includes your end of the bargain then I'm unopposed to the terms... Perhaps we might recover the artifact without slaying the hydra if its easily distracted... Can you speak more of this artifact you wish us to recover? Does it have a name?

What is a geas? Also we should know more of this artifact we are to retrieve. If you know of no weaknesses for hydras we should research it before departing.

Humm.... I'm sure we are physically capable but perhaps ill equipped for such a task, could you tell us more of the creatures, any weaknesses? Do you have any map or locations that you could note for us? Looking to the others for confirmation.

I believe it to be a fair bargain perhaps.

Have you ever heard the Earth expression, "Give a man a fish, he eats for a day, teach a man to fish, he eats for a lifetime.?"Pausing momentarily for an answer...

I for one would like to learn more about traversing recursions and controlling our abilities. Can you explain more of the task you would have us do?

Armand takes a seat on a cushion close to the Archmage. My name is Doc Bayou, I hail from the recursion Earth. carefully not speaking for others, not wanting to the show their hand too soon.

Perhaps I divulged too much, but I didn't see another way. He might be our best lead in understanding how we came here, which at this point is more important than finding the Farstons.

Armand continues forward keeping an eye out for traps and taking note of any strange feelings he has when nearing objects in the house.

Indeed we are of the quickened Armand replies, having never heard the phrase, but certain that the mage holds knowledge that could be helpful to him and his companions.

If your knowledge is limited to Ardeyn alone then we have overestimated you and you have underestimated us. We do not shrivel behind doors and bared windows, you know nothing of what strange places that lie beyond and its not our responsibility to educate you in those matters. Keep to yourself and your small world, for we have more important matters than conversing with small minded fools. Armand replies angrily, having his humbleness returned with such disrespect.

Please forgive our ignorance oh mighty Archmage of Zanthar. We have traveled further than you can imagine in search of the Farstons, they are powerful mages who threaten destruction wherever they traverse and we fear they may bring trouble to Lornvale. We do not come here without trepidation, but we offer whatever we may in exchange for your wisdom and assistance. The townsfolk spoke highly of you but not of any channels, we beg your forgiveness and pray you consider our warning. Armand says genuinely, but with difficulty, not used to being so humble or talking to faces that appear in doors.

Perhaps there is something we may do in exchange for your assistance, we are not without skills and talents that could be of use.

First post was better, but Paizo ate it...

During the walk Armand attempts to form a coherent story with his friends.

So lets say we meet this grand wizard, what are we going to say? Are we going to tell him the truth of how we came here or are we merely in search for the couple from Earth?

Just making sure that whatever/whoever speaks doesn't upset others with their approach, so figured on the walk we might try to decide how to approach and what to say.

Upon arrival, after having discussed some reason for their unannounced visit, Armand eyes the strange door with delight, turns to the party for approval, then knocks solidly on the door 3 times.

Well, let's go find this wizard shall we, perhaps he's more willing to meet with someone of Qephelym ancestry. Armand says standing, ready to leave the bar and begin the search.

I seem to be familiar and able to identify most of the strange objects we've encountered. Don't know how or why, but I can. While we were dealing with that bird, I was able to imbue my body with electricity, though something peculiar happened before we came here, while engaging those skeletons, I was able to mentally assault one, it happened before I even knew what I was doing, as though I had always known how, but somehow the power lied dormant. I believe we are just as special as the place we've traveled to, and that there are more places and people like us in this reality and others.

Thank you dear, you've been most helpful Armand says, then returns to the table and shares the details of his conversation with everyone and the new lead on a powerful Wizard.

He might be a good place to start.

Where can I find such a powerful wizard in this city?

What if I wish to use an item more than once? Can your master recharge items such as these?

Armand ask to inspect the amulet and attempts to discover what it can do.

1d20 ⇒ 12

Where might I find more items such as this? How much does it cost? Do you have a shop? he asks between her responses, trying to gather information on the items as well as their origin.

1d20 ⇒ 17

Armand is surprised and intrigued by the creatures response, though not displeased with the offer of trade, eager to understand the economy and value of goods here.

Her complete disregard for his offer and words is too robotic, knowing any woman on Earth would probably find offense to being called "legs." Her response draws closer scrutiny with his sharp medical eye as he engages further.

Where do these goods come from beautiful? I'd like to see what you have, perhaps we could trade? he asks half interested in what strange items she might have and half hoping to get her to reveal anything of use in deciphering where they are and the previous theory he's shared with his companions.

Raising the glass he offers again, nearly forcing it on her and maybe spilling a bit on her accidentally, so he might further examine her physiology and reactions.

Armand takes more interest in Scorpion Woman and her robotic like behavior. Motioning to the others, he says Anyone else feel something odd about her? I mean, if we came here from somewhere and the mix of people here is so great, then it stands to reason that people could be coming from an infinite number places to here. People...I mean things...Heck I don't know what to call them...Or US!..Going to Earth they'd appear as humans, but here we may appear as a number of things. Perhaps if such thing is common knowledge then it may not be a difficult task in gaining more information about returning home. Though I'm reluctant to begin conversating and give away our total ignorance or the best kept secret ever. Either extreme could arouse suspicion among the sober...Perhaps someone with a loose tongue and appetite for Ale might provide more details. Armand arises and grabs the fresh Ale that no one wished to enjoy and approaches the Scorpion Like Woman.

Hey there legs, can a Lion buy you a drink? he says, offering her the glass and awaiting some response or reaction.

Looking for a pair of people that might of came through here, who might look the same, in a city of humans and others like us...pausing momentarily for the sarcasm to have its effect. Like looking for a needle in a haystack that looks like hay... Why would you assume they'd be at the Inn if they have money, couldn't they have a residence or more likely a store where they conduct business? I doubt the dollar has a great exchange rate here.

We all came out that portal looking different. I think their unique skills might be how we locate them... Assuming of course they travelled here. Regardless, we might begin by bartering the eyes I collected, there are surely other items with strange powers here, if I get close enough, I should be able to identify them. That's the best lead I've got. Though we aren't sure if such items would be sold on the open market or underground as where we are from. careful not to mention Earth by name, never knowing who or what might be listening.

Armand takes a sip and taste nothing, feeling it go down and then trapped in his chest he determines he doesn't have a digestive system and fully realizes the nature of his new form.

This will be wasted on me, perhaps you all can share some he says putting the glass forward for others to consume.

While this isn't the best place to chat, we can decide what to do next. Any ideas on getting home? Assuming it's even possible...

So much for that experiment he says as he takes a drink, trying to identify the ale, a lover of craft brews back on Earth... What the hell are we doing here, pretending everything is normal he thinks to himself.

In regards to money, he looks at his own and says I've got this currency, hopefully it's acceptable and/or enough... Luckily I don't need to order anything else and I'm fine sleeping outside under the stars if rooms are to expensive.

I'll take a glass of your strongest ale. Armand replies, wondering if he even has a digestive system and if alcohol will have any effect on this physiology, more an experiment than need. Though something to relax him at this point would be welcome.

Armand follows their new guide, relying on her knowledge and prestige in this land.

Ales!!! I hope this form allows me to relax? Armand wonders silently, the smallest frown comes across his stony face as he realizes further what hes given up in exchange for certain strengths.

Looking to the warrior, Armand replies: Thank you for the suggestion, I'm sure it will be our first stop. Are there any particular laws or customs we should be aware of while in Lornvale?

I don't think we'll find much shelter here from the looks of it. I think we should just push on towards the city if you all feel you can go on.

Let's get off the main road and try to make it to the edge of a forest, somewhere more concealing. Then we can rest and enter the town after we've had a chance to recover.

Good to rest or push on, whatever is clever.

That is true, I also have some of the currency and we seem to have other equipment suitable for this reality. It would stand to reason we as well would fit in and have little cause for alarm...However, without more information, our ignorance could jeopardize us before we know it. I say we play it safe, maybe split up to be safe when we enter the village...Whatcha say?

I never mentioned my real name, introduced myself as Dr. Bayou, no worries. I've yet to mention anyone by name because I wasn't around in the beginning and we haven't really introduced ourselves yet, something I plan to do at our first camp.

Armand looks to Marcus, While I feel I can continue, I cannot imagine how you are fairing, though I am curious...from a Doctor's perspective. taking a moment to consider Marcus' lack of sweating, he replies, Only mammals have sweat glands, do not be alarmed, though I imagine you might require warmth to be comfortable, though I have no idea of your current physiology, its rather... Strange.

Turning to others, I imagine we all have peculiarities that may prove useful on our journey. Speaking of which, say we do meet some locals, how do we plan to communicate? Do we just say we came here from another world and expect them to remain calm? Would we as humans? he asks the group, hoping to develop some story we all may follow in order to avoid rousing suspicion.

Good point he says in reply to Quinn. We do not know what awaits us there and who. Friendly or hostile. I do not wish to risk that without proper rest. If we do decide to make camp near here, then we need to take turns keeping watch. I would like to rest first, as this form is peculiarly tiresome and a short break simply won't do for me to recover my strength.

I don't have the first rest period for recovery rolls as everyone else does, so I'd need a little more rest than others to make a recovery roll, just a heads up.
