background:
Arim Inva grew up on the Plane of Shadow, however he was unlike many of the members of his clan. Something about him was strange, and almost alien. As he grew it began to show even more, and the older he got, the more apparent it became that he wasn't just of Fetchling blood. Many races would have cast him out for his difference, but the prowess he showed with the elemental forces, especially electricity, through sheer force of will was instead heralded as a great omen. But there still lurked enemies in the Plane of Shadow, and his powers were needed ever more as time went on. He became an assassin for a time, though he often forgot about the stealth part, instead using the brash tactics of a simple killer instead. Sometimes it seemed the plane itself was affecting him. His powers began to grow even stronger and he enjoyed the life of a celebrity for a short time for the work he did. Two years ago, however, he was called to travel to the Prime Material to gather information about it and it's inhabitants, and if he could, to find a place his people might be able to cross over when they desire. It was then that the chief of his clan told him the truth about his blood, he was descended from a blue dragon that terrorized the clan long before Arim was born. After the dragon had his fun in a human form with many of the women of the clan, they rose up and slew him after hunting him for a week. Arim was the only child to survive and be born. The chief then handed him a katana and told him that it was the same sword his mother used to kill the dragon those many years ago.
When Arim arrived, he met a traveling group of showmen. Deciding it would be the easiest way to get around the strange new world, he asked to join, demonstrating some of his sorcerous powers for them. They accepted and for a while he was a showman in the traveling show, spending his nights scouting the nearby areas for any sign of a crossing point for his people. After many years of searching, Arim heard tales of a magic deck of cards that had many strange occurrences attached to it, and strange rumors that the cards were another world entirely. Though he tended to disbelieve it, he knew that another world meant another place he could possibly lead his clan to. And so he headed out to find the deck, and just maybe to return home.
personality/physical description:
Arim stands 6' tall, and weighs 120lbs. To the common onlooker, he looks extremely thin for his height and very lanky. His skin is very nearly snow white, but it is covered in very pale blue scales that almost seem as if the color had been almost totally drained from them. His pupil-less eyes continue the motif of drained color with a very faint green tint to them. He dyes his hair a deep shade of purple, and it is one of the few things about him that doesn't look drained of it's color. He either wears his royal purple robe with golden stitching, or one of his outfits from when he was a traveling showman. His only other outstanding feature is that despite being a sorcerer, he carries a strange exotic weapon, a katana named "Dragon's Fang", that to anyone who can sense magic, radiates a strong amount of magic. Although he is almost never surprised at the items other adventurers may carry, sometimes he has a hard time believing that he himself is carrying a magic weapon.
His years on the Plane of Shadow didn't pass by without leaving a few marks, and staying away from those he loved hasn't been easy for him either. He is sometimes prone to slip into his training from back home and become almost paranoid, though sometimes he simply sees his clan in a nearby shadow instead of the enemies of his clan. His time with the traveling show also left some interesting marks. It taught him to be free and enjoy life to the fullest, and when paired with his occasional paranoia leads many to believe he is mentally ill, however it is just him enjoying life while he can, when enemies are nowhere to be found.
