Human (Varisian)

Still here. Just not much to say with Arianna's disgust concerning the Abadarians.

Human (Varisian)

"Of course we are staying, Corso." Arianna says with a smile.

Her expression changes when commenting on meeting with Abadarian again, "I suppose listening can not hurt, although I imagine it will only be to ask us to do what his precious rules will not allow him to do without payment." she says, obviously still bitter from the previous dealings with Ishani.

Human (Varisian)

Perception DC 15: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (8) + 3 = 11

Not taking particular notice of the illness that seems to be plaguing Korvosa until Gyllan mentions it, Arianna looks around in shock.

"What manner of plague is this? And so sudden...we haven't been gone all that long."

Human (Varisian)

Ready to move on fromn ranch whenever everyone else is. Spells prepared are as listed in my profile:

0-Level: (4/Day) message, guidance, detect magic, light
1st Level: (4/Day) ray of enfeeblement, burning hands x 2, ill omen

2nd Level: (3/Day) glitterdust, augury, blindness/deafness

Human (Varisian)

"Thank you for the hospitality. A pleasure to meet you, Master Goodwill. Hopefully she will behaive herself a bit better for you than she did on the way here." Arianna says, shooting a glance toward Trinia.

Human (Varisian)

Arianna remains near Corso, trying to take note of anyone paying more attention to Gyllan and their contact as opposed to Corso's tale.

Perception: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (10) + 3 = 13

Sorry for the prolonged abscence. It's been quite the busy month..

Human (Varisian)

Arianna waits in the common room with Gyllan and Corso. "I realize we put her in a bad spot, but that woman is going to be the death of all of us."

Human (Varisian)

"I will try, but make no guarantees." Arianna says to Iozif before heading off to confront Trinia.

"Trinia, I can understand your need to blow off a bit frustration from your experiences of the past few days, but unless you are intent on reliving those experiences, you must calm yourself and prepare to leave. It is already very likely we will have to depart sooner that anticipated due to the attention you have drawn to yourself."

Human (Varisian)

Arianna breathes a sigh of relief, seeing Iozif step in. "Hopefully not too much damage has already been done and we can get out of here with minimal difficulty in the morning."

Human (Varisian)

Sense Motive DC 18: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (12) + 3 = 15

So far, so good...although I do wish she would settle down a bit... Arianna thinks to herself, silently enjoying a drink and watching around the room.

Human (Varisian)

Arianna smirks, seeing the behavior of Trinia, and mutters under her breath to no one in particular. "So much for keeping a low profile..."

Human (Varisian)

"Absolutely, though we should still take care to not draw too much attention to ourselves."

Human (Varisian)

I vote to stay here. Arianna will room with Trinia in one of the two adjoining rooms.

Human (Varisian)

Arianna shrugs, hearing the offer before whispering Gyllan's ear "If we take the offer, we are likely to be purchasing stolen horses."

Human (Varisian)

Arianna nods in agreement with Gyllan and Corso. "Agreed. As things continue to get worse in the city, it will only become more difficult to spirit her away."

Human (Varisian)

Bluff (aid): 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (6) + 4 = 10

Human (Varisian)

While I'm not strongly opposed to the idea of mounts, Ulgrim has a point. If we are trying to look like beggars, beggars typically don't have mounts. On the other hand, couple of horses or ponies pulling a wagon with a few people trying to leave could be beneficial.

Human (Varisian)

Arianna nods in agreement with Ulgrim's words. "It is good to see that you are relatively safe, Trinia, we shall do our best to see that you stay that way...hopefully our efforts will be more successful than our previous try."

Human (Varisian)

Spells ready as per profile. Ready to move on when everyone else is.

Human (Varisian)

As will Arianna. She is also willing to chip in for the scroll.

Human (Varisian)

Arianna's words still dripping with disgust for the situation says, "As I said before, I am will to help pay the Abadarian's price. Just do not hold your breath waiting for Ishani to make any deals, Gyllan, he has said as much that it is in his church's nature to do so."

Human (Varisian)

Arianna follows Iozif into the room with the sick child, in hopes of being a help to the more experienced healer. "Iozif, if there is anything I might be able to do to help you, just say so."

Human (Varisian)

"A noble concept indeed. Just not so noble that the servants of the god of law, merchants, cities, and dare I say nobility itself will do anything without being paid." Arianna says, obviously disgusted by entire concept.

Turning her attention to her companions, "If the girl is beyond our aid, I would be willing to contribute to the Abadarian's price."

Human (Varisian)

That's weird...I swore that I posted with the requested d100 roll earlier today. Oh well...

"Were you able to do anything of use for the girl?" Arianna asks.

Human (Varisian)

Arianna follows along, content to let the others do the talking for now, more intent in seeing to the young girl.

Human (Varisian)

Arianna arches an eyebrow at the scarred man's behavior before saying to no one in particular, "Lords and lady? That's a far cry different from what I heard the last time my caravan came through this city."

Human (Varisian)

Spells prepared as listed in my profile.

Since DC 10 knowledge checks can be made untrained...

Knowledege (Local) DC10: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (8) + 3 = 11
Knowledege (Geography) DC10: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (8) + 3 = 11

"While I will not speak for the others, I have a few minor curative powers and I am willing to see if there is anything I can do for the child." Arianna says, sympathetic to the man's story. "Though it should be said, Sgt. Soldado, that is not a guarantee that I will be able to help the child."

Human (Varisian)

In response to Ulgrim's question, Arianna says, "I am not sure it really has anything to do with us, but it certainly seems odd and noteworthy enough that we both heard something about it."

Otherwise, the young woman sits and listens to the banter back and forth about Orsini.

Human (Varisian)

Later.

Human (Varisian)

Making her way back to the Three Rings, Arianna meets up with the others.

"Information has been hard to come by, though one who sought my guidance reported of seeing a sinister looking ship, having black sails and a single yellow lantern. The ship supposedly refused inspection as it sailed into the Jeggare River. When it neared North Bridge and still failed to make its intentions clear. The man continued his story, saying the watch fired on it and destroyed it. He claimed to see no survivors, but it was dark and he was on his own watch at the time. Any of you hear of anything similiar?"

Human (Varisian)

Diplomacy (Gather Information): 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (17) + 2 = 19

Arianna had spent the majority of week since Blackjack's appearance plying her fortune teller's trade in various taverns and inns throughout Korvosa, taking note of the temperament of the city's citizens in respect to recent events.

Following the events of last night, the young witch makes a point of going to the group's designated meeting place to hear what the others may have heard.

"Go to the castle? I would prefer not to." Arianna says, he distaste for what passes for a monarchy evident. "Now, I would like to see if we can speak with her elsewhere."

Human (Varisian)

"I suppose we could try to find him, but I can not imagine it would be easy."

Thinking about it bit longer, she adds, "I am sure that the queen's loyalists are doing all they can to find him as is. That being said, I am not so sure we should try as we may only succeed in aiding the queen's efforts."

Human (Varisian)

RE: Another AP?

I suppose the most important question is, if you (DMDE) decide to run another path, which one would you like to run?

Now with that out of the way, here's my 2 cp (in no particular order):

Rise of the Runelords - Tried to get into a lasting game for a while with little success.
Mummy's Mask - I've always kinda had a thing for ancient Egypt.
Wrath of the Righteous - Just because...
Shattered Star - If not RotRL, why not its sequal?
Giantslayer - For similar reasons to Gyllan's.

Human (Varisian)

Well done, DMDE. A thoroughly enjoyable game thus far. As to the possibilities of another game, I'd be up for another one.

That being said, I know how much work running a PbP game is, and cannot imagine trying to run 6 games and considering starting a 7th. All of your efforts are greatly appreciated.

Human (Varisian)

A smile crosses the young witch's face as she sees Trina and Blackjack escape. Just as she is ready to leave the mob, she is taken by surprise by the field marshal.

Listening to her words, Arianna's faith in at least part of Korvosa's establishment is renewed.

Turning to Iozif, "A drink? Sounds like a lovely idea." Arianna says as the group leaves the area.

Human (Varisian)

Arianna briefly stares, shocked and pleased by the appearance of the other hero Zellara spoke of during the Harrow reading. Seeing the executioner prepare to strike down the apparently unaware mystery man, the young witch yells out "Blackjack! Behind you!"

Reaching in her pouch for a pinch of ground mica, Arianna targets the executioner and any of the guards she can without catching Blackjack in the spell's effect.

Glitterdust, Will Save DC 15 or be blinded

Human (Varisian)

Very cool, indeed. Thanks for taking the obviously significant time to do this. :)

"It would seem that our path is clear. We must go to the execution, not at the behest of this increasingly corrupt government, but in hopes of meeting and assisting the hero or heroes Zellara spoke of." Arianna says, looking to each of her companions, hoping that they all feel the same way.

Human (Varisian)

I wouldn't mind actually playing it out, but if you would prefer not to that's fine too.

Surprised to actually see Zellara again, Arianna's eyes widen, as she carefully listens to the ghost's advice.

As Zellara's shade vanishes, Arianna whispers quietly, "Thank you for your guidance."

Card Spread:

1d6 ⇒ 6, 1d9 ⇒ 2 = CHA, NG
1d6 ⇒ 4, 1d9 ⇒ 8 = INT, NE
1d6 ⇒ 1, 1d9 ⇒ 3 = STR, CG

1d6 ⇒ 1, 1d9 ⇒ 3 = STR, CG - Reroll
1d6 ⇒ 1, 1d9 ⇒ 5 = STR, N

1d6 ⇒ 5, 1d9 ⇒ 7 = WIS, LE
1d6 ⇒ 2, 1d9 ⇒ 7 = DEX, LE
1d6 ⇒ 1, 1d9 ⇒ 7 = STR, LE

REROLL 1d6 ⇒ 4, 1d9 ⇒ 2 = INT, NG

CHA, NG = The Theater: This is the neutral good card of charisma. It represents prophecy, with a true prophet acting a part as the puppet of the gods.
INT, NE = The Idiot: This is the neutral evil card of intelligence. It represents folly, greed, blackmail, bribery, or hubris.
STR, CG = The Big Sky: This is the chaotic good card of strength. It represents momentous change, as when all the slaves of a nation are emancipated.

CON, N = The Teamster: This is the neutral card of constitution. It represents a external force that drives the subject on.
INT, NG = The Wanderer: This is the neutral good card of intelligence. It represents a centaur collector who appreciates things others discard as junk.
STR, N = The Bear: This is the neutral card of strength. It represents pure strength that cannot be truly tamed or trained.

WIS, LE = The Eclipse: This is the lawful evil card of wisdom. It represents loss of faith and purpose, and the subject's doubt about his abilities or prospects.
DEX, LE = The Avalanche: This is the lawful evil card of dexterity. It represents disaster: an unthinking panic and destruction that overruns all.
STR, LE = The Fiend: This is the lawful evil card of strength. It is a devil that devours the masses of the innocent, and can represent the deaths of many in a disaster.

Human (Varisian)

"Unfortunately, it sounds like you are right, our only chance is mere moments before her execution."

As she in want to do in times of indecision, Arianna begins a Harrow spread, this time using Zellara's deck in hope of inspiration.

Human (Varisian)

"I am not suggesting anything of the sort, I am demanding we do something to help a young woman who needs our help because of a situation we helped get her into."

Human (Varisian)

In order to quit memorizing the spell, Arianna would like to purchase a wand of mage armor, assuming that is alright with you, DM DoctorEvil.

Human (Varisian)

"Even when those who enforce those laws are corrupt and unjust? When these laws become nothing but self-serving is that not the very definition of tyranny?" the young witch asks, joining the dwarf in a drink, though something a bit less stout in nature.

Human (Varisian)

Arianna arrives at the tavern and sits with the others. "We have to be there, an certainly not at the behest of that woman. We owe it to the woman who trusted us with her life and now finds it forfeit."

Looking around the tavern, she turns back to companions, "What if the field marshal is right and a riot breaks out? Do you think we could use that to our advantage to free Trina?"

Human (Varisian)

"I agree, we must do what we can to get her away from this mess." Arianna says, obviously furious with the situation.

Still steaming, the witch mutters under her breath, "A perfect example of what passes for justice in this wretched city."

Human (Varisian)

After the group is well past the Hellknights, Arianna mutters "Well...that worked far better than it had any right to."

Human (Varisian)

Aid Corso's Bluff: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (7) + 4 = 11

Arianna goes along with the plan as best she can, though the performance would be far less than convincing except for Corso's brilliant work.

Human (Varisian)

I'm still here. I think that is still from my temporary departure from the game a few months ago.

Human (Varisian)

Arianna nods in agreement with Corso's assessment.

"Do we have all of his pieces now, or do we still need to pay 'Big Yuck' a visit." she asks with a resigned tone in her voice, as if she already knows the answer to the question.

Human (Varisian)

With few other alternatives that could be helpful, Arianna focuses on the creature, attempting to curse it with misfortune.
