Reading 7DttG I've noticed that the temples of Sarenrae and Shelyn are not very active or sought after during the plague, which is especially weird in Sarenrae's temple's case, as she is a goddess of healing. Normally I'd ignore this, but my group has strong ties to both of these temples so I need to know how they are facing blood veil.

I was thinking Sarenrae's temple could be sabotaged somehow by the Queen's Physicians, in a similar way to the Bank of Abadar but much more brutally so it has to be quarantined. Maybe putting blood veil on their holy symbols or healer's kits?

As for Shelyn's clergy, I've decided that in my iteration of Korvosa the High Priestess of Shelyn is a very old, very very senile woman who can't get around on her own. She needs help from her fellow priests preparing and casting her spells and her mind is only clear when she's under the effects of a fox's cunning spell or potion (but she's aware that the rest of the time she's losing her mind, and tends to despair when "cured" in this manner), so the only way the temple of Shelyn can provide high-level divine spellcasting is if the PCs can secure a reliable stream of potions of fox's cunning.

Also, at some point, Ileosa is going to realize that the royal treasury is shrinking so she is going to seize the shelynite's art collection and riches for herself and leave them destitute.

I don't know how these ideas would work. I would appreciate some input. Thanks!

Hello! I am about to start running CotCT and I have some doubts. I am a rookie GM with a tenuous grasp of the game mechanics when it comes to balancing encounters and calculating appropiate EL for the party and such, which is worrying because I only have three players. But that's not really the issue. I would like some (any) advice on how to run this campaign, because I am feeling a little lost here.

My biggest issue so far is with Gaedren Lamm and the background traits. The whole Old Fishery thing is over in a minute or two and never mentioned again, and no resolution is provided for the background traits. Does a framed PC manage to clear their name, and if so, to go back to his college or temple? Does a PC with the Missing Child find said child? If I know my players, they are going to want closure for these things. I know it's my job as a GM to introduce these things in the campaign, but I don't know how and when it's appropiate.

Traits like Love Lost, Drug Addict and Unhappy Childhood are more complicated. I can't think of any way of giving a PC closure if they pick any of these traits. After all, their loved one is still dead, the drug addict either recovered or died, and a former child slave has already moved on with their life.

I appreciate any advice you can give me about running CotCT in general, and about the trait thing in particular. Thank you.

Hi! This is my very first message. I'm not a native English speaker so please excuse me for any mistakes I might make.

I'm about to start the War of the Righteous campaign path, and I think I need some advice on both character build and concept, because I'm not sure if it is playable. I have to add, though, that my group and I are really into dysfunctional, broken characters.

I really like the code for the paladins of Shelyn, so I decided to play one. My idea is a human paladin that thinks that, as an agent of Shelyn, he's not allowed to have any negative emotions (wrath, hate, envy, anger, etc) and represses them in a rather unhealthy way. He feels envious and resentful of all the other people who can show this emotions, then angry at himself for feeling envy, then angry at himself for feeling anger, and so on. He copes by putting of a façade and behaving like an incredibly cheesy all-loving do-gooder.

As for the build, I don't really know what to do. We have a witch and a wizard (I don't know their builds) and another player who hasn't decided yet. We rolled 4d6 for the ability scores and I was really lucky. My scores are 12, 13, 14, 15, 15 and 16. I appreciate any advice.

Thank you in advance!
