Background : Juliska was proud to be an alumni of the Karcau Opera . Being feted by gentlemen and covered by gifts was a plus but being kidnapped by an opera lover vampire for her to sing to him was a bummer. While his captor did not assault her violently , she did see some of her fellow captive being drained as a result of not being up to par and the vampire was fond of sharing blood with his chattel .
Also discovering that she was pregnant as a result of an erstwhile rendez vous was also not a joy
When, after four months of captivity , she was freed by a group of pharasmin crusaders due to the deductions made by a Professor Lorrimor , she was grateful. And when as a result of her captivity her pregnancy developed complications and the counsel of Professor Lorrimor saved her life and the one of her babe , let just say that Lorrimor did join the list of her personal saints .
Aral was brung by her mother daily telling him what he owes to the professor and relating to him how she survived with her wits by not giving in to the constant terror she was in. He has absorbed these tales thoroughly and lives to one day repay professor Lorrimor .
his debt to the pharasmin church has also led him to becoming a vicar in a church of Pharasma but Karcau's cosmopolitan atmosphere did insure he is no prozeliting zealot even if he ache to be more in the front against the never ending battle against undeath . the discovery of the taint of undeath in his blood has only reinforced this stance
