Please check the status of order 4077055. I pre-ordered the anniversary edition of CotCT in August and have received no notification that it has shipped yet. Additionally, I have not received the PDF. I placed this order in time to get it free and am an AP subscriber. Please tell me when this is going to ship. Thank you.

Any suggestions for a module that deals with defending a city? I am aware that Rise of the Runelords book 5 deals with that, but, I'd like to avoid that since I want to run RotRL one day. I am open to any system or publisher that deals with defending a city from an assault, as I can convert most systems to Pathfinder with a little work.

Curse of the Crimson Throne spoiler:
My players wiped on Vreeg. They seem fairly cavalier about their deaths, saying, "Oh, well, the next party will probably be hired to find out what happened to this party." I would like to avoid that scenario and teach them that what they do has an effect on the world, even their deaths effect the world.

To that end, I am considering having the Shoanti declare war on Korvosa for failing to return Gekken's body in a timely matter. I think the queen would encourage war, and possibly use it in conjunction with Sabor's "execution" to stir up more riots within Korvosa.

Hi, there! I am running a CotCT game for my step-daughter and her boyfriend. This thread will contain tons of spoilers for CotCT. With only a few minor tweaks here and there, I plan on running CotCT more or less straight from the book. I plan on posting my session notes here, because, why not?

The party consists of:

Eldrin, Level 1 Half-Elf Ranger
Erza, Level 1 Human Enchanter (Wizard based)

And here are my notes from our first session:

The scene opens with our heroes at a fare in celebration of Korvosa's 301th anniversary. Accompanied by two women in full plate armor and wearing helmets that only show their faces, the castle senschal, Neolandus Kalepopolis takes the stage. He announces King Eodred's illness, and says that while the evening festivities are canceled, it is the King's wish that everyone enjoy the fair today. He goes on to announce the formation of an elite Queen's unit, the Grey Maidens.

After concluding his speech, the party is treated to a production of The Passion of St. Akila, the first citizen conceived and born in Korvosa. Akila was favored from birth by the goddess Pharasma and was instrumental in predicting many raids on Korvosa. When she predicted the Great Fire, she still fought the fire, even though she foresaw her death.

After the play, the party explores the festivities. Eldrin and Erza decide to participate in an archery contest. On Eldrin's first shot, he hits a bullseye and impales his arrow half way through the target. Erza is less successful; missing the target, then nearly shooting her own foot.

Looking to nurse her wounded pride, Erza takes Eldrin on a pub crawl. She has some Honey Mead served at a tent run by the Posh and Turtle Inn. At the Bard's End Tavern's tent, she is served a Slippery Nipple. They skip the sweet breads and pastries offered at the Three Rings Tavern's tent and end at the tent run by the Jeggare's Jug. At the Jeggare's Jug, Erza enjoys some Chelaxian pepper whiskey, saffron vodka and Talatian fire whiskey, before participating in the drinking contest.

Erza handily drinks down a sorority girl from the Academae, a dwarf who appears to be half off his stool all ready, a heavily tattooed Shoanti barbarian before facing off against the grand champion, a stocky man who looks like Korvosa's answer to the Hell's Angels. They both pass out and a winner is not declared for this year.

While Erza is passed out, Eldrin orders a massive Reuben and sticks Elf ears on Erza. Erza comes to three hours later and finishes Eldrin's sandwich. They then decide to check out the Sasserinian Roulette table. Outside of the Roulette tent, a man is hawking 2g to watch the show and a 500g prize. Once inside, the pair discovers that Sasserinian Roulette consists of picking one of six daggers, then stabbing yourself in the heart. Five daggers are harmless, one dagger is very much real. Erza decides to compete for the 500g prize. Eldrin stealths to the front seat in the house to watch the show. Still a little drunk, Erza picks dagger number 3. She lives to tell the tale and wins the 500g prize.

They then wander into the tent of a dwarf selling medicinal herbs and spices. They use some of Erza's winnings to buy two doses of healing herbs for 100g. As Ezra is reaching into her chest to pay, she finds the following message written on the back of a tarot card:

“I know what Gaedren has done to you. He has wronged me, as well. I know where he dwells, but, cannot strike at him. Come to my home at 3 Lancet Street at Sunset. Others like you will be there as well. Gaedren must face his fate and justice must be done.”

The pair then decides to consult the fortune teller's tent. There is an ominous “Closed” sign on the tent door and nothing inside, just dust. They then decide to go check out 3 Lancet Street. Eldrin finds a bum, gives him 10 gold and questions him about the house. The bum tells him that he hasn't seen anyone in that house for months, and he's lived on Lancet street for years. Eldrin gives the bum 10 more gold for more information. The bum doesn't have any more information, but, seems very...... grateful.

Eldrin then attempts and fails a climb check to climb to the top of the house across the street and survey what's going on. Failing that, he lurks suspiciously in the dark alley across the street.

Erza enters the house and detects faint illusion magic. The house is a simple living room/ kitchen area with one bedroom. She reads the note left on the table and declines the offering of wine and bread. She checks out the bedroom and finds it to be fairly unremarkable. Eldrin sneaks into the house at this point after asking the bum to keep a lookout.

Zellara enters the house and greets both Eldrin and Erza, much to Erza's surprise. She asks them to “deal with” Gaedren Lamm and after some debate, they decide to go after him. Zellara preforms a harrow reading and off they go.

The pair rolls up at Westpier 17 and does a good job of scouting out the outside and peering in the windows. They open the door and Eldrin goes into the fishery floor to do some scouting. He sees Bloo, Giggles and 26 occupied hammocks. Eldrin attempts to throw Giggles into the wooden vat, but, is unsuccessful. Erza and her compy familiar join the fight. Giggles renders Eldrin unconscious with two blows from his flail. Though the compy puts up a good fight, at one point scoring a critical hit and scrawling “Compy was here” into Bloo's flesh, the compy is rendered unconscious. Erza casts Charm Person on Giggles and then finishes off Bloo.

Erza rectally administers the healing herb to Eldrin and her familiar. They then interrogate the Charmed Giggles for more information, which Giggles happily provides. They then tell Giggles to take off all his gear throw it into the ocean, which he does. They then send the loin-cloth clad Giggles off on a two mile walk.

After Giggles is gone, they free the orphans. The orphans are kind of confused and wonder where they'll go, but, Eldrin tells them that any place is better than here.

The pair makes their way downstairs and scouts out the under pier and abandoned boat. They then return to the building and confront Gaedren. Erza wins the initiative and hits Gaedren with a Charm Person spell. Under instruction from Eldrin, Erza asks Gaedren some questions. Eldrin wants to know where his moms is. Gaedren replies that he sees a lot of people's moms. Eldrin specifies that he is looking for an elf. Gaedren says that he saw an elf come through here a few months ago, but, he passed her on to someone named VL.

Erza attempts to convince Gaedren to turn himself in, but, he merely laughs at the suggestion. Erza then asks Gaedren to “Come here,” here being right next to Gobblegut. Eldrin attempts to shove Gaedren into the water, but, the end result is more like a hug, instead. Eldrin attempts and fails to shove Gaedren into the water again. This time, Gaedren catches on and starts fighting back. Erza keeps Gaedren pretty well locked down with Daze, and Eldrin gets a few licks in, before Gaedren's butt is eaten by Gobblegut. Moral of the story: be nice to your pets. Then, they collect sweet, sweet loot, which includes a hatbox with Zellara's head.

Zellara appears to the party and thanks them for dealing with Gaedren. She explains that she doesn't feel that she can move on yet and doesn't know why. She also says that's kinda freaky, because she used to be a pro at this whole circle of life thing. Eldrin asks what she wants done with her head. Zellara instructs them to drop it off at the shrine to Desna. She promises to keep in touch and disappears.

As Erza and Eldrin exit the Old Fishery, they hear the town crier yelling, “The King is dead! Long live the Queen!” The smell of smoke and the sounds of riots fill the air.

“F*** the Whore Queen!” One of the townspeople yells back.

The party makes it back to Zellara's house and Eldrin successfully stealths to and from the Desnan shrine. They hunker down at Zellara's to ride the riots out.

I am running Curse of the Crimson Throne for my step-daughter and her boyfriend. We haven't started yet. The party comp will be a Half Elf Ranger, Level 1 and a Human Enchanter, also level one.

I would like to drop a DM NPC in the party to round out some skills where they are lacking, but, I am not sure which class. I would like to avoid a Paladin, Druid or Cleric, because I don't want to trivialize the second book in this AP for them. On the other hand, I am hesitant to drop a Witch or a Bard in there, because I don't want to overlap spells with the Enchanter and steal her spotlight. I'm not super stoked about a Rogue DM NPC, but, I'll go with it if necessary.

To complicate matters, the Ranger is a DEX based Ranger.

So, I figure the group is light in the following areas:

- Tank
- Divine Magic and Healing
- Trap Finding/ Disable Device

I'm OK with giving any DM NPC, Rogue or not, the Disable Device skill. All characters can check for traps with Perception.

My goal is to support the players and not overshadow them. Which class will fill these gaps the best and not steal the spotlight? What is the biggest weakness of this party.

Thank you for your advice. I am new to Pathfinder, and I haven't played it in about a year, so I'm a little rusty. Any and all advice is much appreciated.
