"I can't either, if that makes you feel any better."

"So, anyone else here wake up with an odd feeling of divine protection?"

"Well, at least I won't be the only one stumbling around," she said with a grin.

"And no, I can't say that I did. But I've definitely discovered new appreciation for the art of getting out of the way of sharp things travelling my way."

female human Fighter 2

Anyssa looks around. "Let me guess," she said wryly, "I'm the only here who can't see in the dark, aren't I?"

All leveled up and ready to go.

Hopefully everyone has levelled up fine? It's been a bit stop and start lately, but with luck we havent lost anyone over the new year

I haven't had a chance to level yet. I'm still playing catch-up after the holidays. But it shouldn't take too long. I should get some chance to work on it tomorrow.

female human Fighter 2

"Yeah, getting out of here is a good idea. I don't fancy dying today," she says, wincing a bit.

Could someone please tell me if I am still wounded and if so how much?

female human Fighter 2

Anyssa keeps her starknives in hand as she tried to hide.

Perception=11

female human Fighter 2

Anyssa shrugs. "I'm not the sneakiest, but I'm not horrible at it either. I'll go with whichever group you all think is best. I don't mind either way."

"Well, at least you didn't have to act like you just came out of the Shire. Now I feel dirty."

"You get used to it. Acting like less than what you are, I mean. It's not like you don't know the truth. It's just an act." She shrugged. "It's what I've been doing every day for years."

female human Fighter 2

Anyssa stands waiting, a blank expression on her face, as if she were too stupid to have any other. She trips over her own feet a bit but manages to right herself without too much disruption.

6gp would be enough if you can go with that.

Don't forget the 20 gp that Antius gave us.

Which she gave to her family. On the theory that they needed it more than she did.

"Okay, well I have six gold." She'll hand over the money since he seems to know what arrangements and such to make and she hasn't the faintest clue about livestock.

Anyssa, I'll go half with you if you want to get a mule and packsaddle, The mule would be a total of 8 gp and the packsaddle another 5. Feed for him would be cheap, but a bit weighty, 5cp/day and 10 lbs.

"I would and gladly. But I only have seven gold total left of my own money."

female human Fighter 2

Anyssa purchases some more rations and a bedroll. The extra weight in her pack causes her to grimace and agree that a packhorse or donkey or something might be a really good idea.

female human Fighter 2

Anyssa can be a very clumsy servant. With her slight figure and oversized clothes she looks more like a young boy than a girl, so servant is probably her most believable role.

Eland tries to hide his glee at the revelation of the conntents of the scrolls. He eats his fill and makes a display of leaving a couple gold coins on the table to pay for the meal.

"I think the overland route may prove the wiser. Asking around for a boat may arouse too much suspicion." He looks around the table to see if his companions are in agreement.

"I've never been on a boat before. All in all I think I'd rather stay on familiar footing just now, and that means on dry land. Wouldn't want to get trapped on a boat with cultists."

female human Fighter 2

Anyssa stumbles and weaves her way into the back room and sits quietly while Eland does the talking.

Eland Westlocke wrote:

Eland stashes the letters, the scrolls, and the metal bar in his pack. With a glint in his eye, he leads his companions out the back of the warehouse. The thought of a warm meal and wine in the back of his mind.

Unlike Damandor, Eland is lost in thought about the letters and scrolls. As is usual for him, he is blissfully unaware of his surroundings. Without thinking, he begins to hum a tune.

"Woops!" Anyssa says, 'tripping' over a loose cobblestone and bumping into Eland, interrupting his song. "How clumsy of me."

female human Fighter 2
Eland Westlocke wrote:

Eland will bring the odd metal bar also.

"If any of you fellows would like to accompany me to the Wilted Rose, The first round is on me. A warm meal might be just the thing after a couple of days eating dried meat and bread."

"Sounds good to me. Er, is anybody staying here? Because we really shouldn't leave that sword just laying around unattended," she says, glancing over at Selenial.

female human Fighter 2

"Am I the only one here who doesn't hear voices in their head?"

"Wait, what was that about destiny? I'm sick of being a destined hero." Garret sits there looking annoyed.

Anyssa the Clumsy wrote:
"So what are we supposed to do now?"

"Find this Kellian guy? Me, I just want a look at this prophecy thing they keep talking about. There's got to be a way out of this, I mean, I only signed up for this for the money!"

Anyssa raises an eyebrow. "You've got somebody telling you that you're destined to be a hero? Me, I'm usually being told that I'm destined to end badly," she adds with a self-depracating smirk.

female human Fighter 2

"So what are we supposed to do now?"

female human Fighter 2

"So is somebody going to read the letter at least? Maybe that will give us some idea what some of this stuff is."
She shudders remembering the state she last saw their former employer in.
"And whether it was worth it," she mutters.

female human Fighter 2

Anyssa laid down on the floor, too exhausted to care how hard it was. She was almost awake enough to envy the half-orc for having a bedroll, but not quite. After tonight the cheap boardinghouse she'd been living in looked like the lap of luxury. She was fast asleep before she even had time to think about anything else.

female human Fighter 2

"Thanks, Damandor. I appreciate it." To the others, "Retrieve the chest in the morning? Cause I just don't know if I'm up to it tonight."

Ivan Boldreiva wrote:
Burn the place then? Good. That should help in some disctraction. Possibly we could dress as servants or split up into smaller groups to evade the authorities?

Anyssa nods. "Dressing as servants is a good idea. Nothing says I'm out to cause trouble like walking around in bloodstained clothes," she says with a grimace, pointing out her own slashed and bloodstained shirt.

Garret Highhill wrote:

"Alright, we found the hidden cache of goodies, we found what's probably the key to the crate, can we please go now?"

The crate did have a lock on it, right?"

"I second that," Anyssa says with a shudder. "The sooner we leave here the better."

female human Fighter 2

Anyssa turns her back to the carnage in front of her and breathes the scent of the willow bark as instructed.
"Thanks, Flint," she says weakly. This had gotten so far beyond what she was prepared to deal with.
"Guys, can we find the keys to that crate anywhere?" she asks, trying to concentrate on something else.

Garret Highhill wrote:

Garret recoils from the body. "If they could get past that door no problem, why did they kill the servants? Oh, these guys will be killed by the time this is done."

"Well, shouldn't we leave now? The Watch will probably show up in five minutes, knowing our luck."

Anyssa has gone pale and looks like she's going to vomit.

"Wha - Yeah, we should leave," she agrees, her eyes glued to the grisly scene.

Eland Westlocke wrote:

Eland unclinches his cheeks as he thankfully detects no magical auras at the same time that Ivan strikes the door. "Maybe we should check Antius' room for a key, whatever is behind this door, we may want to lock it up again once we have exmained it."

Eland begins looking through drawers and on tables. "Although I also suspect we might want to bring whatwe find with us."

"Great idea. You work on that. Anybody got any acid? We could use that to burn out the lock. Or the hinges. Good thinking on that one Flint."

female human Fighter 2

"I'd complain about his paranoia if it wasn't so obviously justified. We got any way of getting through that door?"

female human Fighter 2

"Let's just find out what's on the top floor and then worry about the rest of it. I think we've done enough killing for one night. And I'm sorry that it went so far as it did with Lyl and her group. Other than their leader, the rest of them were just doing their jobs same as us. And we're not butchers. Not like whoever came in here and did this to these poor people in their beds."

female human Fighter 2

While her wound was still not fully healed, it had at least stopped bleeding. Other than being a bit sore, she was fine now.
"Thank you, Damandor," she said, moving to begin binding the wounds of those burglars still among the living.

female human Fighter 2

Anyssa presses a hand against her stomach trying to slow the bleeding. It was a shallow cut, and she was sure she'd be alright given time, but it still hurt like the dickens and her shirt was a mess. Her other hand, still clutching a starknife, she pointed at the burglar who surrendered.
"Okay, now would be a really good time to tell us who the woman you were working for was and why you were here looking through this house."

female human Fighter 2

Anyssa hisses with pain. She needs to end this fight, but she's not sure she can. She swings at the burglar.

1d20+3= critical fumble.

Okay, how do you handle this? I know that we have to roll to confirm for critical fumbles at the table, but I think that may be a house rule. (Sometimes it's hard to remember what's in the book and what's a house rule.) Let me know what you want me to do. 1d20+3=13 That's what I would have gotten on a confirmation roll if that's what we're doing, so still a critical fumble. Also, depending on what happened, do I still get my second attack?

1d20+3=12
Not that it matters apparently. Invisible castle does not like me today :(

female human Fighter 2

Anyssa once more tries to hit her foe.
1d20+3=12
She fails to connect on the first try, so attempts again with her other starknife.
1d20+3=8
She overcompensates for the last miss, and once more fails to hit her target.

female human Fighter 2

Anyssa swipes her starknives at the thug in front of her.
1d20+3=18 and 1d20+3=12

Damage: 1d4+1=4, and in case he has a really bad AC,
1d4+1=5

female human Fighter 2

Anyssa draws her starknives as she runs up the stairs, hurrying towards the nearest burglar.
Heading towards Q4. I'm having a really hard time understanding the map, so I'm not sure how close I can get to that position. I always have trouble with 2d maps involving stairs and landings.

female human Fighter 2

"Okay. So who's going in?" Anyssa whispers back.

female human Fighter 2

"I'm not the sneakiest, but I can usually deal with threats pretty well. Up to you guys where you want me. I'll go over the wall or stay behind as you like. Of course, on the plus side, I'm probably one of the easiest one of us to actually lift over the wall."

female human Fighter 2

Perception 1d20 =5. Nope, I don't notice anything at all.

female human Fighter 2

Anyssa shrugs. "Okay, I guess we go straight. Always a good idea to follow the guy who actually knows where he's going."

Grunthor Firbolg wrote:
I just had a brilliant plan, lets go left.

Anyssa grins at Grunthor, appreciating a moment of humor in a tense situation.

female human Fighter 2

"We should go left."

Kno:local (untrained) 1d20 = 10

female human Fighter 2

"Stop talking and run," Anyssa says, following her own directions. She doesn't fancy a run-in with guards and there's sure to be a better hiding place once they get further in.

female human Fighter 2

Stealth : 1d20+4= 9 Of all the times to live up to her name :(

female human Fighter 2

Anyssa nods agreement as Eland suggests his plan. It may not be the world's best plan, but it would hopefully work, and they really didn't have time to be worrying about anything elegant. She prepares to go as soon as the guards are distracted.

female human Fighter 2

Anyssa shrugs. "Sure, Ivan. Whatever floats your boat."

female human Fighter 2

Anyssa shrugs. "It seems like a sound enough plan to me. We want to stash the crate in the warehouse next door, or does somebody have a better suggestion?"

female human Fighter 2

"Well, I don't know if I believe in any of this prophecy stuff, but I do agree that we should try to find Antius. I thought it was weird that he asked for me for this job. Like he knows stuff that he shouldn't be able to. I don't know. Anyways, if his house is the best place to start looking then I say we should get to it."

female human Fighter 2

"Okay, I've used up every bit of patience I had already today. And there may have been threats of physical harm at one point if I didn't stop singing," she adds with a wry smile. "So what did you guys find out?"

female human Fighter 2

Anyssa is basically doing whatever the fantasy equivalent of "100 bottles of beer on the wall" is in an attempt to stave off boredom. Quietly of course. She really can't carry a tune :)
