Hey all,
It sure has been a while, I just graduated two days ago. I cannot tell you all how happy I am to have the freedom to work on this project again, I was unable to continue making images for Zuddiger's as non of my professors would allow for it. As such they are no longer assigning me work or directing my efforts away from this project. So this is my official announcement that the full book is on its way, I even have a graphic designer who is going to be doing the text pages. Page 6 is now nearly done, and Production from here on out should be speeding up. Looking forward to seeing how these later pages are accepted.
Cheers,
Anthony Ian Emerson
Hey All,
I posted a formal apology on my blog. I am so sorry for the slow in production, the one man marching band that I am, when I fell ill in December, I had no clue I would be recovering until now. I am just getting to the point where I feel well enough to work. Unfortunately, I am in my final semester of Art school and It must take precedence over my personal interests. To reiterate, I am not saying I am going to quit making the book, I am simply saying progress from here on out will be slower than intended, I had hoped to be finished by March, but we may be looking at mid June now as I gather myself and assess the situation of my work-life. I appreciate your constant encouragement, and I look forward to posting the next page for you all.
Sincerely,
Anthony Ian

Hey all,
Been a while since I've posted but Pages 1-5 are all edited and polished up, feel free to check em out, leave critiques, pointers, requests! I am a firm believer that no work can ever be too polished or reworked enough. That said, I'm going to continue pushing forward with the rest of the book even though I am not required to for class, I'm having a lot of fun doing this project, and It's nice to give back to a community that has given me so much. Also, after talking with James, I believe we may be bundling this all into a downloadable pdf booklet once it's all finished, free of charge, and complete with text, and cover.
In response to all of the kind souls wishing to donate money to my cause;
I am flattered, but in regards to this project, I simply am not willing to take payment. Aside from stomping on Intellectual Property laws, I really truly intended this to be a gift from the heart for all of you, James and The Pathfinder team included. That said, I do have a society six site, and will be posting some of my print work there, if you like my work you can always help me out by purchasing a print or a t-shirt or a mug or something, for those that are interested I'll be posting a link in the next two weeks on my blog, that will take you to my society six shop.
Again, many many thanks for all of the support, and happy holidays!

How on earth are you creating this?
(I'm not familiar with this technique)
Woodblock carving, is a printmaking process that is ancient, the Chinese (don't quote me on this) were some of the first to begin using this process. And in full effect it is a simply stunning methodology for creating images. James, in the forward, mentions this being the method of construction for the book. However, to do each panel entirely in wood block relief would, as it did for Zuddiger, consumer most of the next few years of my life. Thankfully, with a hybrid illustrator like myself, I can create portions of the image traditionally,(I actually carve into linoleum, cheaper+faster=happy art student, then run it through a printing press and voila!! "Wood Block" print.) Once its printed, I scan it, and use a digital process to edit, and fill in the gaps. This lets me work faster, while preserving some of the beautiful accidental textures and aesthetics you can only get from wood block and linocut prints.

Anthony Ian

Hey all,
Thank you all so much for the positive feedback, I do intend to complete the whole book. Each panel takes about three weeks to flesh out, between the wood block carving pieces and the acrylic, it has been nothing short of a labor of love. I originally undertook the project as a tip of my hat and a thank you to the creative genius of the pathfinder team, as they have supplied me with countless hours of jaw dropping art and fun. Having gamed since I was eight, this kind of work has always been a calling, I only hope I can do James and the rest at Pathfinder justice. It's a tall order to fill, but I'm aiming to give this my all. I'm in mid process on page three and should be to page five by December, as I am creating the work for a class, I have to balance the rest of my senior portfolio work with this project. That said, I should get back to work, page three is calling.
Sincerely,
Anthony Ian
