Backstory:
Ancian is a traveler at heart, and a warrior by trade. He was born in Fairhaven to an Aundar military officer and his wife. His father was a respected and high-ranking captain in the army, and after his service was finished he was commissioned as a diplomat for the nation of Aundar. As such, Ancian was often whisked away to far away lands; however, this lifestyle suited Ancian perfectly.
During their travels, his father taught Ancian the ways of combat. On his 13th birthday, Ancian was given two warhammers that his father said were family heirlooms, the only time his father ever spoke of his family. He continued to travel the world, with and without his dad, until his 18th birthday. He joined the Aundarian military, which had been his dream since he was a child. He excelled at all facets of military life; combat, strategy, and diplomacy.
On his first patrol, bandits ambushed his squad. During the melee, he inexplicably vanished and reappeared behind his foe, dispatching him quickly. That night he discovered the cause, a Dragonmark. He was confused, of course, but continued on with his military service. The next time he saw his father and mother was one year later.
He questioned his father about the mysterious emergence of the Dragonmark and his father told him that he was once a member of House Orien, and was chosen, along with 49 other lower-ranking members, to serve in the Aundarian military. It was a gift from House Orien to the nation in which they are head quartered. However, because of the Korath Edict the chosen were forced to renounce the house and take up new identities. Ancian was stunned, and angry at first; however, his father explained that it was an honor and that he was still held in good standing in the House Orien. His father also told him that now that he has manifested a Dragonmark he is what the House calls a Foundling, and would be asked to join the house.
In the months to come, Ancian was introduced to many house members and spoke with viceroys and even had a short meeting with the Patriarch. He still had 2 years of service to nation. After he had fulfilled this promise, and become quite adept in the use of his Dragonmark, and was able to use it as quick as a thought. He became a full member of House Orien two days after his 21st birthday.
It has been three years since he joined Orien and he is now a respected scion of the house. He is now waiting for his Dragonmark to evolve so that he can join the Blades of Orien, but until then he continues his travels around the nations, continuing to do what he loves.
