Hey DM, I totally understand how you feel, but I say take heart, I'm liking my first PBP experience, and I'm hoping we can play together some more

If Anath did not have any trouble climbing, he will stay right behind Godwin to provide Backup if needed.

Anath grabs the rope and tries to climb too:

Climb:1d20 + 1 ⇒ (12) + 1 = 13

"I don't suppose any of you brought a grappling hook, did you?"

Places sword back in scabbard and shield on back, and tries to climb the wall

Climb:1d20 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5

"As a matter of fact, I do!" Takes out his hemp rope (50 ft.) and hads it to Loren.

Who'da know it would have come in handy? Good thing I thought to bring it ^_-

Anath peers into the doorway, trying to see anything inside

Perception roll:1d20 ⇒ 3

"Well then, which way do we go now?"

"Well, shall we open the door to the south then?"

"You might be right, Sir Loren. Can we entrust you with keeping tabs on said escape route?"

Sighing, Anath sheathes his sword...
"I'm fine, you should tend to your wonds"

Having felled his foe, Anath moves forward and slashes at the remaining spider:

Attack:1d20 + 5 ⇒ (3) + 5 = 8
Damage:1d8 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 6

Anath will continue to attack until the spider is dead!

Attack:1d20 + 5 ⇒ (11) + 5 = 16
Damage:1d8 + 3 ⇒ (8) + 3 = 11

Anath continues to press his attack on the spider, hoping to neutralize it before beign bitten.

Attack:1d20 + 5 ⇒ (5) + 5 = 10
Damage:1d8 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 6

DAmn! Didn't see this on time... if I'm still allowed to change action, I'll ready an action to attack a spider if it moves within range, is that ok?

Anath will carefully move towards Spider #2 (normal move) And attack with his sword:
Attack:1d20 + 5 ⇒ (4) + 5 = 9
Damage:1d8 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5

Anath strains against the webs, trying to break free

Strength check: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (19) + 3 = 22

"Well comrades, what will it be? Left, right or up?"

Anath lashes at the attacking dog with his sword:

Attack: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (17) + 5 = 22
Damage: 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (8) + 3 = 11

I think that, with a double movement, I can reach H-14, right?

Anath moves forward as fast as he can, placing himself between his comrades and the assailants, shield and sword ready.

Anath dismount from his horse, leaving the lance in the saddlebags before making sure Stalwart is properly secured, then draws his sword & shield:

"Well, here it is. Let's get going, shall we?"

Survival1d20 ⇒ 9

With a saddened look at the slain dog, Anath regrets letting such and end come to the poor beast. shaking his head, he turns and spurs his horse onwards, catching up with his companions.

apologies for taking so long. Something unexpected came up and just now took care of it

"I honestly don't think it's something to keep mulling over. Probably a pack of starving, feral dogs, desparate for something to eat. Do with the unconcious one what you will, and if no one is gravely wounded, let us continue"

Anath stays his hand, unwilling to slaughter a creature that has been subdued.

Anath quickly drops his lance (free action), draws his sword (move action) and lashes at the persistent mutt:

Attack: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (15) + 5 = 20
damage: 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7

Anath directs his horse to charge into the fray, bringing his lance to bear:
Attack:1d20 + 6 ⇒ (4) + 6 = 10
Damage (x2 b/c of charge):2d8 + 6 ⇒ (1, 2) + 6 = 9

Initiative: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (6) + 3 = 9

I want to charge at one of the dogs if there's room to, If not, I'll just try to skewer them with my lance

Anath readies his lance and shield, gearing for battle.

"There's naught a place for we to take refuge, and we wouldn't be able to outrun them, at least not the entire group. No, we stand and face them, make them realize we are too tough for a meal!"

I want to ready an action to charge as soon as one of them is in range, ok?

Anath shields his eyes with his hand, squinting in the direction of the ruined fortress. "It looks like we still have about an hour of travel ahead of us."

Good grief! For a while I thought Lord Soth got the jump on us =D

Riding his horse, Anath turns to answer:
"Indeed it is, yet it appears some overeager seekers of fortune went there to make a name for themselves, and haven't been heard from again. Captain Kerlion has issued orders to investigate said fortress, and bring back the missing men, or at least, word of their fate."

"Well, I guess that should be enough of a rest! Our path is clear and the Sun shines on us once more! Let us depart, Comrades!

"Indeed, I can see the fell structure from here. We should make our way in a short while" With that, Anath hands out the additional provisions to those who want them.

"It's no big thing, really. When duty calls, I must answer. And this time, my duty is helping those poor folks by solving the mystery of this dark hole."

"Well comrades, we should look out for a place to take cover then; I was given some supplies for our trip before we left, and it would be an adequate time to distribute them."

Perception check:1d20 ⇒ 2

"Truthfully, I wouldn't know. Comrade Loren, you have a map, yes? Can you estimate the distance to our goal?"

"Onwards then, my valiant companions. We have a duty to fulfill, let us not tarry any longer!"

Anath is mounted on Stalwart, his faithful horse. With a nod of the head, he acknowledges Godwin.

"Greeting, good sir. I'm Anath Matteus, an Eagle squire, skilled in the Sword and the Lance."

@Anath - keep in mind that this is PBP: you'll be playing through forum posts (due to convenience sake and time differences everywhere), so it doesn't matter to me if you can't post within the hour or half a day of the module starting.

Having said that, I do want everybody to try to post at least once per day. The more, the better.

If my calculations are correct, I'm not going to be able to join tomorrow (May 3rd) in a timely manner. I'd probably be able to about 1 hour later though. I'm sorry, and I hope this is not a huge inconvenience :(

And here's Godwin!

Anath, Godwin is also an Andoran, from Almas and aspires to be an Eagle Knight as well, though he focuses more on the releasing from bondage parts... He and Anath may have met on the sea voyage from Almas to Absalom, if you'd like.

Sounds good to me! Looks like we have 3 aspiring Eagle Knights... this ought to be interesting :)

I might also have to be the "tank"?

Well, I'm pretty Tank-ish myself, especially with the Order of the Shield abilities, so you can leave the job of damage-sponge to me ;)

I'm going to expand on my character's background/motivations:

He is a born Andoran, an idealist, and fervent believer in the Andoran ideals of Freedom and Equality. His parents were slaves freed during the Andoran uprising, and they managed to become successful entrepeneurs afterwards. Thus, while he never experienced slavery first hand, he has a past with it. He is an aspiring Eagle Knight, dreaming to join their ranks and fight tyranny and slavery wherever they rear their ugly heads.

Mmmm, not too familiar with Absalom, but my Anath would likely be in the stables seeing after his horse, near some arms merchant looking at his wares, or perhaps near and Eagle Knight outpost, if they have presence in Absalom.
