After shoving the book in his backpack, Alton begins to run after Welby. What does it say!?

Happy 4th! :)

Alton peruses the book with a mixture of disgust and curiosity. Ooh.... When Wellby begins shouting about the lying kids, Alton says I knew there was something wrong with those kids!

Ok, ok...... Alton backs off, and begins to read one of the books he took off the shelves.

Alton stands over Welby, reading the letter as well

Taking out his rapier, Alton carefully treads over to the the skeleton and pokes it with the sword. Grimacing, Alton begins to inspect the pentagram in the middle. With a thoughtful look and his face, Alton rips a small piece of parchment, balls it up, and throws it into the sand.

Ignoring the strange book, Alton begins to pull the fictional and poetry books off the shelves. Oooh..this is nice...A classic!...Look, my tutor wrote this one.... at least, I think? He turns to the side and notices Welby holding the strange book. Welby... whats that?

Alton rushes to Welby I'm afraid I have no healing spells..... He quickly moves to write about Gryms healing, but discovers that he ran out of parchment. Drats!

Ah, greetings Glym, Knight of the Bridge, Earnest, and Ms.Hackett. My name is Alton Underbough, and I am the second to hold that name. As for my companions, I shall let them introduce themselves

Seeing a banner-carrying man as well as an old lady and balding man appear unexpectedly, Alton quickly writes their description down on a piece of parchment, which serves as his "Book of Adventures That Have Been Undertaken By the Bard Alton Underbough". Hello! Who are you?

Yay! New player! Welcome to the party!

Alton begins to inspect his scroll Ok.. Ok He quickly drops it and pulls out his lute. Stumming it a couple times, he points toward the armored knight and shouts

Alton rushes upstairs, mentally thinking of the spells he knew. Passing Welby, Alton shouts to his fellow halfling You ok? He then pulls out his lute, and begins to move toward the suit of armor.
Init: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (20) + 3 = 23

Thanks Dinaeri :) . If I can still hear you from the room with the harp, I'll go over to your room and do what's in my previous post. If not, this is what I do:
Alton begins to investigate the space around the harp looking for anything important, or even another instrument.
Barlowe, if you wish me to make a new roll, here it is. But, if you want to use my previous investigation roll, that's cool :)
Investigation check: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (7) + 1 = 8

Looking at Dinaeri, Alton mutters Weird... He stops tuning the harp and picks up his piece of parchment, drawing the crest, and writing a description of it. He turns back to the harp, and attempts to finish tuning it. He then walks to Dinaeri, and begins to look around the room, looking for any secret doors.
Investigation check: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4

Alton begins to tune the harp, absently humming a tune himself

Alton, having put down his rapier (once again) and picked up his piece of parchment, drops the parchment and runs to the harp. He begind to start plucking the strings.

Alton moves in beside Wellby, one hand on his rapier.

Alton simply follows along, working on a magnificent story about the adventure sure to come.

Alton walks beside Welby, and checks the cabinets himself. After a few seconds, he picks a piece of parchment out of his paper and begins writing something down

Sorry I did'nt say what Alton is looking for. He is looking for any people. As for the marching order, Alton is at the front, or, if someone else wishes to be in the front, he is just behind that person

Alton, rapier drawn, slowly opens one of the doors, and attempts to look for anything inside
Perception: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (19) - 1 = 18

Alton also attempts to walk in step with the rest of the party
Stealth: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (13) + 5 = 18

Alton looks toward Vasilios and whispers The children!

Alton walks up to the children, who, since Alton is of small-stature, are probably the same height as him. Monsters! We've fought worse things! Don't worry, we'll get 'em!

Alton begins to look around for any other beings
Perception: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (17) - 1 = 16

Vampires! Don't worry, i'm sure we can take 'em Alton does a few practice moves with his rapier

Alton stares at the body, looking a bit more sad than you would expect of one who stated that they used to be in the business of waging war for hire.

Expecting trouble, Alton pulls out his Rapier, and tiptoes forward. Let's hope my mercenary training helps.....

As Alton sees Welby return, he whispers Are you all right, my friend?

I say one of use try and sneak down there, see what that light is, then report back

Ha Ha! Adventure! I don't know about you, but thats why I joined an adventuring company! Lets get right to it!

Fingers crossed, though I deserve to get in just as much as every other applicant, so may the best contributor win.

It's 7.40am for me now, so I've stayed up way longer than I wished, but my story is complete and now in my character profile.

I apologise for the long read, but if I was awake more it would have been even longer, so I guess consider yourself lucky!

Another question:
I've never used Roll20 before, would I need an account to move my character on the map?

As we are using maps, what map tool will we be using?
