Allovin was born a slave to a minor Chelish noble in the city of Khorvosa. Life was comfortable growing up for while he and his family were slaves, they were treated with the same respect and love as members of the family. Allovin didn't really think much of the differences between slave and owner until the day that he, his family, and most of the household slaves were sold off to a slave trader to cover the eldest sons massive gambling and drinking debts.

Life changed quickly on that day. He and his family were chained and stuffed into a small room with dozens of other slaves for several weeks, with little to no food, before being packed into wagons and shipped out of the city. They were often beaten or whipped with little or no provocation and one slave grimly joked that they were treated worse than the livestock they were being shipped with. Allovin, not yet an adult, had begun to despair that he and his family wouldn't survive the trip when the caravan was ambushed on the road. Arrows and spells flew in from both sides of the road and men rushed forth to do battle with the guards. During the chaos a man in armor appeared by the cages and using a key opened the door and began to unchain the slaves. As Allovin's chains were undone he noticed a slave guard, one of the particularly brutal ones, carrying a spear and sneaking up on the brave man who had come to rescue them. Before he knew what he was doing Allovin lept from the wagon onto the man and strangled him to death using the very chains that had bound Allovin to the wagon. With a quick thanks the man led Allovin and the rest of the slaves off into the country-side to freedom.

Over the next several weeks Kindle, the man who had freed Allovin and the slaves from the cages, and his friends, a small band of thirty or so adventurers who had dedicated themselves to freeing slaves, made their way north and west towards Varisia. Kindle and his friends hoped to lead the slaves to Sandpoint or further north where the slaves could restart their lives away from the threat of recapture. When it came time for Kindle and his band to leave and head back Allovin decided to leave his family and join them. The memory of the pain and suffering that he and his family had suffered gave Allovin the desire to help however he could and Kindle, remembering the bravery with which Allovin had attacked the guard, agreed to take him along.

Allovin spent his time at first helping anyway he could. Whether that meant cooking, cleaning, mending gear, buying supplies or gathering information on slavers he was dedicated to helping. During this time Kindle, a priest of Iomedae, and his band taught Allovin how to fight and Allovin, grateful for the hope and salvation provided by Kindle, became a devote follower of Iomedae, dedicating his life to bringing freedom to those who are enslaved. Eventually Allovin began to join Kindle and his band on missions and attacks against slavers with their efforts culminating in an attack on a slave ship bound for Sothis in the harbors of Khorvosa. Allovin, Kindle, and the others were able to steal the money on board and sink the ship before the captain was able to purchase his slaves. Fresh from their success Allovin decided to take a few months to travel north to visit his family. With a smile and a wave Allovin set off for northern Varisia.

After spending a few months at home with his family Allovin returned to find the farm they used as a base of operations burnt to the ground. Speaking with the nearby villagers Allovin learned that agents of the slave lord who had owned the ship they destroyed in Khorvosa ambushed the farm while he was away. Of the 30 or so members of the band the villagers buried six of them, including Kindle, while the rest were unaccounted for. After visiting the graves of Kindle and his six friends Allovin started searching for the whereabouts of the rest. Over the next two years Allovin took odd jobs and worked with several different groups, including a local chapter of the Pathfinders, in order to make money so that he could continue searching for his friends. Eventually he got a lead that most of his friends had been sent to Sothis as slaves. Hopping on a ship with a couple of his Pathfinder friends Allovin made his way to Sothis.

Allovin has spent the last three years in Sothis searching for his friends and trying to figure out how to free them. He joined the local Pathfinder guild in Sothis upon arriving as a means to gather enough money to buy his friends back if needed but so far has only been able to free a couple of the villagers who were taken during the ambush. While he has come to enjoy the trips and explorations with the Pathfinders and the variety of peoples that can be found in Sothis he constantly strives to free what slaves he can and to find information on his friends.
