A surge of malign energy washes over Alahazra. She feels an anger rise within her, and steadies her mind against it. "Beware the Sihedron, Apprent... AH!"

She's interrupted by a quarterstaff across the back. She looks to her new apprentice and sees rage in their eyes. Alahazra's own anger flares. "Master yourself!" She commands, and summons a ward to block the medallion's influence. The apprentice, now themselves again, looks mortified.

Confident but cautious, Alahazra infuses extra divine power into her blast of flame, incinerating yet another cultist.

With the death of the cultist, the Shadow Clock begins to tremble. There's a chance to seal off its power, but Alahazra knows there will be a cost. She hesitates to pay it. Someone must stay. Then, from the rear, the Magical Child approaches and puts a hand on Alahazra's shoulder. "Let me do this, mistress. I know I can't make you forgive me for when I betrayed you before," she says, eyes cast down. "But I hope this will make you think of me more fondly when I'm gone."

Alahazra smiles sadly. "I forgave you already. I think I was cruel to you so this moment would be easier - I must have sensed it in our future... But it was wrong to treat you as I did."

"Time to meet your destiny." With a bit of of will, she pulls the protective powers from the relic and uses it to ward the ferry. The amulet crumbles to dust. For her efforts the townsfolk award her with a Cape of Escape.
