Male Tiefling Warlock 2

Aglaeca seems hellbent on burning all these miscreant creatures into ashes using eldritch blasts.

Minor, Curse S2

Male Tiefling Warlock 2

If there is a goblin within 4 squares of the pit, agaeca will curse it and Force Grip him, into the pit hopefully, otherwise Eldritch Blast the nearest Gobbo.

(invisible castle is down , I will roll live or you may reroll as you please gm)

Male Tiefling Warlock 2

Aglaeca looks for more goblins to kill but failing that he will take a potshot at the rats in the bottom of the pit.

Minor, Curse any Goblins or failing that curse the rats
Move, none or move up 1 square to shoot rats
Standard, Eldritch Blast 16 to hit for 5 damage

Male Tiefling Warlock 2

Aglaeca throws his torch, 20 to 30 feet ahead and relying on the expanded light range and his own low light vision attempts to shot any goblin caught offguard.

Move:Throw Torch
Minor: Curse Any Enemy he sees (+1 ac)
Standard: Eldritch Blast [http://invisiblecastle.com/roller/view/2275520/]24 to hit 9/url] 12 damage and 2 damage from a curse if applicble

11...

Male Tiefling Warlock 2

Aglaeca opens fire immediately as he comes into view

Surprise Round? Eldritch blast

16 to hit and 14 damage if it hits

Here's an initiative for you when you need it 17

Male Tiefling Warlock 2

( I wanted a first class light show, but its was more of a , of the moment, thing retroactively adding facts is not nearly so cool).

Aglaeca slumps getting off the cart, steam from the sweat of his last escapade, still rolling off him gently. Lurching in a somewhat alarming manner, Aglaeca grabs a light and point, leading towards the door in the ground.

Speaking back bittersweetly as he leads Aglaeca says, "Don't worry folks, I've done this before. Just follow me and kill everything that moves" .

Aglaeca pulls open the door/hatch if appropriate and enters the hole. Walking with a strong but lurching pace.

Male Tiefling Warlock 2

Aglaeca attempts to steer the cart back onto a safe track before his magical prowess starts consuming his life force. The Smell of burning hair and flesh begins to fill the car as the fires of hell lift the cart higher, Aglaeca, using his knowledge of streets and bypasses , lands the car as best he can.

Invisible castle is down again aparently, that's +9 streetwise gm, please roll. Can i spend a healing surge for kewl magical effects of awesomeness?

Male Tiefling Warlock 2

Aglaeca uses his knowledge of demonology and evil magic in an attempt to make the infernal mechanism go.

Arcana Check 16

Male Tiefling Warlock 2

Aglaeca spoting the idle folks in the crowd starts giving out orders, preparing the group of people to attempt to right the cart, regardless of academic pursuits.

(that's 18 to athletics check to aid another. Can we get a bunch more people aiding, and then get sturdy or someone to make the main check...)

Male Tiefling Warlock 2

Aglaeca says, "They must be aware that we have dispatched bairwin, making the most likely answer, baring magic, is that bairwin was supposed to send some kind of signal to whoever is on the other end of this track, and as a result of the absence of that signal, they have assumed the worst.

This means that the foe on the other end of the track is both in league with the cult and knows that we are coming, I propose we follow these tracks, perhaps even using one of these carts for most of the way if possible, and destroy whatever necromancy using cretins are on the far side. Who's with me.

Male Tiefling Warlock 2

Aglaeca stands boldly at the middle of the little opening, holding no weapons, smiling, and saying loudly when the people get into sight,

"Bairwin sent me to meet you" [Bluff Check 21 ]

Aglaeca does his best to look nonthreatening and helpful.

Male Tiefling Warlock 2

Aglaeca steps close to Sturdy, to hear what the not so gentle giant has to say.

Male Tiefling Warlock 2

Aglaeca shrugs "You can make the lion a mouse but can you make the mouse a lion... Where is Karn anyway "

L

Male Tiefling Warlock 2

You generally need something to lure the cultists out for an ambush to work no? Lets all get topside and find an appropiate place to hide then set the house on fire, Hopefully we can kill two birds with one stone.

Male Tiefling Warlock 2

The Tiefling crawls up threw the hatch, his thick tail surprisingly not hampering him in the least.

Looking at the cabin the teifling asks everyone else, Anyone got some Oil and an actual torch, we could just burn it down and nab the cultists as they come out"

Male Tiefling Warlock 2

I'd be more inclined to clear out the cabin and then continue on the tunnel, we don't know how far it goes, it obviously has already absconded the city walls, so the nine hells knows when we'll get a chance to come back for the cottage.

Male Tiefling Warlock 2

Lets poke up through the hatch, probably sturdy first, and see if we can catch any more cultists in the act... We can then go down the tunnel without worrying about our rear then, that's tactical right?Aglaeca sheepishly asks.

Male Tiefling Warlock 2

This tunnel may lead right out of town, which was how Bairwin was getting his goods in without anyone knowing. There was a name on the crates 'Grimmerzhul Trading Post' if it means anything to any of you.

Aglaeca checks the crates here to see if there are the same markings on them. Looking up at the hatch, he says to sturdy,

"Sturdy, You say the strange fellow who was meeting bairwin just disappeared on you? As if he dropped down a hole maybe This may be his hole. I think we should follow the tunnel and destroy what we can find there. Then we can come back and have more words with Ninaran, I don't trust her either. Then Finally we have to find where this Kalarel is holed up, although I have an idea about that as well, sadly. Hopefully after this, the town will be free from misguided miscreants, althought it is impossible to tell. The Altar room was built to hold quite a few people.

Male Tiefling Warlock 2

Aglaeca without looking at the equipment, says "Chances are bairwin's staff has something to it, it was spitting out darkness and other things in his hands after all"

Male Tiefling Warlock 2

Makes sense, lets go

Aglaeca seems positively helpful, sticking near the middle of the group. During the short rest, Aglaeca pulls out a torch from his backpack, an ...eternal ... torch.

Male Tiefling Warlock 2

Aglaeca wipes the blood off his hands absent mindedly onto his leathers as he moves forward to help investigate the altar. After smashing and sweeping anything he can off the altar, Aglaeca will look for hidden switches or compartments. Looking up at everyone Aglaeca somewhat bashfully says " Its good to know that there are still people out there willing to do the right thing... Thank You"

Aglaeca will help others search the altar

Perception Check 13 to aid another

Male Tiefling Warlock 2

Aglaeca shifts to D3. Decidedly avoiding the light.

Shoots eldritch pain at D4

12 +2 from aldric = 14 vs reflex

8 damage if it hits.

I also curse d2, +1 to ac until the begining of my next turn.

Male Tiefling Warlock 2

Aglaeca seems to drink in the darkness , both the absence of light and the rotting abyss that seems to serve as Bairwin's Soul, taking strength from the other's depavity. Aglaeca's Horns seem longer and more regal and his tail longer and more supple. Aglaeca then surges forward, skirting forward and diagonally in front of a reaper before ending behind them and gesturing to Bairwin.

Minor=> Fiendish Resilence +8 temp hps
Move=> Ending at e5, only entering melee rage at h5
Standard=> Diabolic Grasp, 8 total, 9 if he's bloodied, which aint gonna do it, dammnit.

Male Tiefling Warlock 2

Aglaeca's Initiative 19

Can I tell any difference in Armament between R's and D's? (aglaeca has low light if it helps)

Male Tiefling Warlock 2

Aglaeca with a sincere face, passes extra ropes and whatever other supplies he had managed to find in Bairwin's to the newcomers.

With a serious air he says "Better be careful, I have it on good authority that entering the place of business of someone else at night is illegal in this kingdom"

Aglaeca will ask Dran how far he wants to go ahead, and will go down second, thinking furiously to himself behind a calm face I wish I knew who these people are, but we don't have time to bother with them now, if they want to come, there is little I can do to stop it

Heading Down

Male Tiefling Warlock 2

I'm supposed to explain my work to a bunch of hecklers in the middle of the street at the stroke of midnight? Sorry, bub, I got an important cultist to hunt down and ... show the light to. If your looking for the Inn its right behind you.

Aglaeca then goes to work , double checking his scant kit before entering the store, and examining the hidden hatch, trying to get an idea of what they will be dropping into.

Male Tiefling Warlock 2

You mean that pretty little purple dragon knight we spent the night with?

Male Tiefling Warlock 2

Aglaeca smiles, pleased to find a willing target for his vitrol, and calmly flips them the bird (or gives them the V or whatever the appropiate rude teifling hand and/or tail gesture may be ) and yells back "Sod Off"

Male Tiefling Warlock 2

The Tiefling Sucked his Teeth before begining. He hated admitting Failure.
The Miasma of his last spell broke as his other party members came into range. Patting himself down for wounds, Aglaeca was pleased to find none, any damage being taken, haven been healed by his dark masters.

I broke into Bairwin's Shop, hoping to find some incriminating evidence. Instead me and him had a conversation. He tried to recruit me into the cult and I told him about the virtues of cult free living. I thought I could take him and I tried, but the Kobold managed to get away. He fled into a secret level below the shop. I think we should go and end his life

Male Tiefling Warlock 2

Cursing, Aglaeca goes to stomp out any bits of fire that may have been, inadvertantly or not, caused.

Then going to just outside the store, Aglaeca will wait a few minutes to see if he can catch sight of any of the other members of his party. If he can he will get them to go rouse the others in preparation for pursuing Bairwin.

If he can't he will quickly move to the Inn, Wake all he can find and start getting them ready before returning.

At Bairwin's , Aglaeca will start preparing for the fight and such below. He Will Sack, Bairwin's Place, already considering them forfeit and using whatever knowledge he can gleam from the manifests and such to find any and all useful objects.

I'd like to prepare a half dozen lanterns and extra Rope Kits.

Arcana Check to find Magic Items (focused once at the store front and once in the back room again) Front Room 19 Failure, Backroom 10 Failure

Search Check to find Magic Items/Useful Items. 8

Giving up on being able to find anything useful, Aglaeca thoughtfully presmashes/opens what display cases/boxes he can randomly before everyone shows up.

Male Tiefling Warlock 2

"Keep Talking Maggot"

Perception Check to pinpoint where the voice is coming from

Minor, Perception while blinded, 5, Passive 10 not sure what I need to target someone who is quite audible and i'm not sure if I need to put the negative 10 perception for being blinded (that would be -5 and 0 passive respectively then.)

If I can tell where Bairwin is I target that square, otherwise I target B10

21 vs Ref to hit (with the -5 for being blindand all) 12 Fire Damage if it hits (including warlock curse)

I save vs blindness

Male Tiefling Warlock 2

Minor Action: Curse Bairwin (+1 Ac until the begining of my next turn)
Minor Action: Infernal Wrath

Action Point: Eldritch Blast 14 vs Ref, for 6 damage

Male Tiefling Warlock 2

Aglaeca smiles, blind and blood dripping down his face, "it was good for me how about you"

(Hai Guys I found a Darkness Cultist... , I wasn't expecting *blind*)

Minor Action/move action: Stand if necessary, Mock Opponent

BWAHAHAHAHAHA You're covers blown bairwin, You know what happens to cultist who are exposed Bairwin, You know what happens to their souls Bairwin, They burn in a special place of torment Bairwin, I know, I've been there Bairwin, and you know what the only thing worst than devils are bairwin for how they treat their cultists?

That would be gods bairwin, Your going to burn in the light forever bairwin BWAHAHAHAHAhah so why dont you show me what you got before I end your miserible life.

When I get hit, and I hope I do

That Hurt Bairwin, Was it good for you? you degenerate, Ass sniffing, kobold

Standard Action: Shooting Blindly with Hellish Rebuke, Attempting to set things on Fire if I may (towards the drink if I may to get things to burn faster)

(gm should i just abandon my planned turn rolls or should i attempt to reuse them somehow.(probably easiest and fairest to just start from scratch)

Male Tiefling Warlock 2

Aglaeca stands saying You know what, scratch that, Why don't I do this for you , to prove myself, before we start getting into money reaching across the table to clasp Bairwins arm in a jovial fashion the Teifling Smiles as sincerely as he can manage.

Bluff 29

I hope shaking the dwarfs hand counts as a grab (the description just says seize a creature bodily and I dont plan on releasing the clasp.
but either way here is my surprise and first round of actions.

Surprise Round:

Armour of Agathys (Gain 13 Temp Hps and bairwin takes 1d6+3 cold damage when they begin adjacent )

Move->Minor: Infernal Wrath (+1 to hit, +3 Damage on my next power)
Standard: Hellish Rebuke ( 15 vs Ref to hit, for 10 Fire and 6 curse damage if it hits and an extra 1d6+8 if I am damaged before next turn (not sure if infernal wrath applies to hellish repeat damage but otherwise 1d6+5)
Action Point: Hellish Rebuke ( 8 to hit, natural 1 )

here's a couple Armour of Agathys Damage if you need them (which you probably will) 5,6 and 8 in order

Male Tiefling Warlock 2

A sage of some kind then, that can be arranged but tell me , how shall we arrange payment, and ...shall we say ...a token of your good faith in me would be appreciated

Male Tiefling Warlock 2

These Pests, Tell me more about them. I'm sure we can come to an arrangement of some kind

Male Tiefling Warlock 2

I got dragged here on a fool's errand, and now I'm doing a bit of work for the lord, trying to deal with these kobolds, not too successfully I might add.

And yourself?, You seem to be doing a brisk trade here. Old Thair is more than a little jealous of you , you realise, and the Lord doesn't seem to favourable to you? How do you do it? Where is this money and power your so promising with

Bluff 19 where required

Male Tiefling Warlock 2

Aglaeca, with as much grace as he can manage, walks into the back room with Bairwin.

Scaning with his eyes and magic, He sits down nonchalantly.

Arcana 15 to detect magic items, like say if the chair is enchanted etc,etc (this is a big fat failure, I generally need 20+1/2 magic item level)

Perception 18 to look for hidding assailents

Sitting and looking back expentantly at Bairwin, the Tiefling Smiles and Waits.

Male Tiefling Warlock 2

Aglaeca attempts to palm the manifest and turns to face the shop owner with a big smile, Thievery 24 to palm the manifest

"Money, Powah, Whats not to like , You have my attention, lets get something to drink and talk"

Male Tiefling Warlock 2

Hoping that SOMEONE has the cajones to follow mysterious fleeing the scene man, Aglaeca Continues his search of the store.

Like I said, Quitely making it look like a robbery, looking for paperwork or clues that will tell where Bairwin is getting all this stuff.

if you need more rolls, fell free or ask.

Male Tiefling Warlock 2

Aglaeca, letting himself down out of sight, sets foot onto the ground and attempts to stealthily move over to Bairwins

Stealth 4, natural 1

If Aglaeca makes it to bairwins without being called out, he takes a moment to look for anyone who might have seen him, or be watching the from door.

Perception 7

If Aglaeca does not see anyone, he will break into the Bairwin General Store.

Theivery 16

If Aglaeca gets inside, aglaeca looks for whoever is hanging arround the store so late at night, hopefully without being seen.

IF no one is still in the store, Aglaeca will search for any signs of cultic activity. To make it look like a robbery, Aglaeca will quietly toss the place about and take any valuables (Coins/Gems/Magic Items) that he can get a hold on in his quest for incriminating evidence.

If someone is in the store, Aglaeca will attempt to observe them a bit before deciding what to do.

[ooc - I'm not sure how many more rolls you want, so here is a extra perception/stealth/theivery check if you need them.]
3 Perception
17 Stealth
18 Thievery

Male Tiefling Warlock 2

Aglaeca taps sturdy on the shoulder, "Common, I want to get some air,"

Once outside, and away from ears, Aglaeca saunters towards the stables. Did you notice that elf, Ninaran, disappeared Sturdy? .

Is the stable busy/ Have signs of being recently used? (walled town is barricaded at night right?)

If it is in use I (and hopefully sturdy) investigate

If it has been recently used I (and hopefully sturdy )will make our way to the gate to see if it has been opened/used recently.

If neither, we return to the Inn, I excuse myself, return to my room. Baricade it. Exit onto the roof from my window, and carefully attempt to find ninaran's room.

I then observe the window, looking for dropped packages/messages/light signs/and the like.

Here's a stealth and a perception check?
Stealth 10
Perception 2, Passive 10

Aglaeca keeps up the survilence until either its clear ninaran is going to bed. After Ninaran does, Aglaeca turns his attention to Bairwin's general store, what can I see Gm

Perception 12

Male Tiefling Warlock 2

Aglaeca, after returning to the Inn, goes and seeks out the Merchant, where he begs, borrows, or steals, some writing materials and returns to the Inn. (should I perhaps mark off my sling and ammo for trade/sell to purchase a writing kit?)

Aglaeca then writes out a note, outlining the situation, and describing the statuate and amulet. Sealing it with wax and impressing with wax with the amulet. Aglaeca hands off the note to Dran or whoever is tasked with finding the lord... without being found.

The Note, In Elvish

Spoiler:

My Lord,

In the course of our investigating the kobolds, I have found some ... unusual objects of worship. An Amulet and a Statuate which I believe both depict an ancient threat. 12 centuries ago the Great Dragon Shadraxil was defeated in these very lands (236 DR). Finding relics of Shadraxil today, in multible places seem beyond comprehension.

I do not know if or how Shar cultist would be involved, but regardless. Someone seems intent on doing something with the Dragon Shadraxil a wurm that took ancient warmages of legend to capture/kill in the first place.

We have also uncovered evidence of spies in town. I am going to begin sniffing them out, I presume with your permission.

We must investigate this keep. Perhaps this is overreaction, and if so we should find the keep abandoned. Please tell my messenger the location of Shadowfell Keep, any other requests and if possible, the name of someone who may know how to get their quickly/efficiency.

Otherwise act normally, and know that we shall soon have the spy, the kobolds, and the cult in hand.

Sincerely in Service

Aglaeca

Also I am going to be out of town this weekend, See you all monday.

Male Tiefling Warlock 2

What perspective is that, your perspective, tempus's perspective, the priests perspective? Why are you making such a large fuss over such a simple, polite matter. For one who talks of battles and how tempus cares not for big pointy objects or little pointy objects, you certainly seem to have some prejudices against someone who is willing and able to get the job, nay the battle, against evil done.

All you know about this old witch, is that she sent some boy to get help, an incompetent boy, not exactly the level of resources and above reproach behaviour I would want to trust not to be compromised in someway. The Spy is in town, its not the lord and that's about all we can even be reasonably certain about. Why would the lord hire us to deal with the kobolds, who are connected to the cult, if he was influenced by the cult? He wouldn't.

Turning to face sturdy aglaeca smiles, " I have no doubts that you would not blab intentionally, but everyone makes mistakes, its a rule of life. My secrecy reflects not my trust in you, but rather my distrust of myself, everything I do must be weighed against what may happen. You may not blab but what if these dread agents of darkness got to you with pliers, and hot irons, whips, and succubus, and needles, and cheese. What about then sturdy. "

But really its a null issue, I will divulge the information to our employer, you know that man who has promised to pay us and gives us support in our quest

Male Tiefling Warlock 2

"Because it is of little importance to our immediate activities, and the less people know the less they can inadvertently blab to spies and cultist"

Male Tiefling Warlock 2

"I see no reason to speak with the priestess, but you are correct about being watched. Perhaps we should go back, and as a clever rouse, pretend we found nothing at all. "

"Then we can send the drow or a skulk to the lord at night, to relay our message. After we can be sure the message is through, we can start watching for the spy. However decent and/or nice the priest lady is , our employ is with the lord. "

"I can write a message for the lord if you like, otherwise the Lord and I need to talk about whether this is actually a shar cult. I have some knowledge of the relics we found that the rest of you probably dont."

Male Tiefling Warlock 2

Aglaeca waits for the soliders to leave and get out of sight ,before moving to mount up and get everyone else to do the same.

"We got to go speak to the lord, now, We got spies and worst in town and we're gonna need directions"

Male Tiefling Warlock 2

with a smile and laugh at his suddenly verbose compatriots. Habber walks over to the fire pit, and if no one minds, sits down, and starts poking a stick at the fire.
