Verilich mulls over the events in his mind and checks that his memory is correct. He did nothing wrong and those three attacked him unprovoked. Clearly I am not under any spell because I am acting nothing like Natalya who used lethal force against those only wishing to parley. They are the ones that the VC should be warned. Perhaps there will even be a bigger reward for the one who delivers such a dire warning from cunning insider threats

He flies directly to her door with speed and asks in the most polite way possible to see the Venture Captain immediately because he has dire news regarding her Pathfinder agents sent to rescue Natalya. And with the instructing tidbit of information that he has personally subdued Natalya alive … when last I saw her in the hands of his treacherous companions implying both speed is of importance and that any change in Natalya’s condition beyond being alive is now on their heads.

The basics of the story are related to the VC from a complete position of honesty. He describes how we helped the watch, cleared out a wanna be kidnapper, and found a person with the information as to Natalya’s whereabouts. Of course highlighting all of Verilich’s heroic deeds and emphasizing his non-lethal approach to conflict until bloodshed has occurred.

”We approached the hideout and were met by two thugs. We attempted to parley and I approached them in a non-threatening manner. They struck first and I quickly subdued one for questioning. I found out that there are goblins and giant mosquitoes in the hideout along with Natalya. Therefore I leveraged my ability to fly and create a clear pathway for my companions who immediately deviated from the plan and jumped down into a mucky pit to attack goblins. And while I don’t particularly like them, we could have traversed the room without blood shed. I was then injured after the bewilderment of the party ignoring the plan and faced sharp shooters alone. I quickly dispatched them and again created a safe way for them to proceed. I flew into the rafters and cleared out the threats from above and located Natalya. My party requested time to parley to which the bard flubbed the engagement and raised the ire of Natalya. With the party helpless to cross the terrain, I once again led the charge to fly up and confront more goblin sharp shooters and Natalya herself. After I dispatched the goblins I attempted to stun Natalya to take her unharmed but alas she did not succumb so I began to use non-lethal means all the while my bloodthirsty companions continued to seek her death. She got in a lucky strike on myself to which I was forced to respond in kind. But by my earlier actions, the combined effect kept her alive.

I immediately brought her to the healer of the group—which is the only one I trust at the moment—and secured her possessions. It was at this mutinous moment that the bard began to tell people what to do and who should hold what. I had enough of that and told him to stand down and that I had the better authority to know what needed to be done. Have instructions to bind Natalya, heal the party, and interrogate her. Almost immediately Caius starts talking about taking me out and Ghaernan hands him a weapon to do so. Still not believing my eyes until Caius struck at me! Ghaernan used magic against me. I withdrew from their bloodlust for battle and then even Khalid swung his horse chopper at me as I was merely trying to move away. Not once did I engage or provoke them.

I immediately flew here to both tell you of Natalya’s rescue and being alive … along with grave news that your Pathfinder agents may be under ill effects of some sort of bloodlust magics. I fear for Natalya’s safety and what lies they may spread about me since I know their dark secret!”
