Runes on the door, everybody stay back for a moment while I figure out what they are...
The lashunta mutters to the group while he focuses on them.

He treads carefully into engineering and waits until he is fully past the threshold, before beckoning for this teammates to fall via telepathy.
I am inside. I believe it is now safe.

Spare parts lie scattered across every available surface and parts of the floor. What appears to be a transmitter dish has been partially disassembled on one of the desks here along with a blinking computer terminal. Wrinkled printouts with frantic notes written in the margins cover another, with cups of long‑frozen tea holding a set of blueprints flat. There are several dents in wall at human shoulder height, as though someone punched the wall in frustration.
Further around there is also a dead body.

Chivix Velloro |

Chivix poked his head into the central quarters and decided this looked like Officer Country. Nicer furnishing and decor, anyways. He pointed out the artistic map rendition. "We're definitely following in someone's footsteps here."

Going to Engineering, he was about to open the door when Sefel stopped him. After Sefel had disabled the rune, Chivix entered, ready to search or fight, and leaning towards the latter.
"We got another body, here." Chivix moved into the room, scanning and searching, and ready for the body to rise up and attack."

Can I get two fortitude saves from Chivix, Sefel and anyone else helping with the search.

Bluuuuu |

Then allow me Bluuuuu responds to Jackojare as he moves forwards to try and determine what he can about the fallen figure.

The figure is definitely dead. Looks a bit like that ghost you saw actually now you think about it. A pile of equipment sits along the western wall. A set of regimental dress II, n elite semi auto pistol with a dozen rounds ,a credstick and a set of fiery runeplates. (mk2).
On the desk there is a crude surface map with annotations that make it look like it is a route to the beacon, and some technical specifications of it.
A computer blinks happily in the cold air, power obviously restored when you fixed those on the bridge.
Bugface notes that the radiation seals on his suit seem to have become deactivated.

Donovan would be of little help with the search, but he is interested in seeing if the body matches the image of one of the lovers.
"If this one was the ghost, the other one may have been his lover. Even in death their luck and their love holds.".

Somebody was working on something here...
He looks up at the dent in the wall.
...and it wasn't going so well.
Sefel cranes his neck and looks over the blueprints on the table, under the tea.
Engineering, analyze blueprints: 1d20 + 17 ⇒ (12) + 17 = 29
After he heads over to the desk to check out the inviting computer terminal. He notices the map next to it.
Now we're getting somewhere.

Oh, wow, what's emanating from that body?
Sefel starts to double over a bit while he works at the computer.
Check penalty? Vomiting on the map?

![]() |

Give me another fort save Sefel. You are feeling unwell and currently at -2 on any fort saves you make. Luckily if you throw up, your armour will stop it going anywhere other that all over you. May as well give me a perception check at the same time.

Yeah... I don't feel so good.
Fortitude: 1d20 + 2 - 2 ⇒ (8) + 2 - 2 = 8

Sefel is rapidly feeling much, much worse. He does notice that the radiation seals on his armour have become inactivated.
You are now at -4 on your fort saves, con checks and related matters. You have also taken an extra 14 HP (not SP) worth of damage.
Lastly I need another two fort saves from you.

Are you doing anything other than staying put?

Bluuu 72/72 SP; 9/10RP;

![]() |

Are the rest of you pulling back too, or just bugface and Sefel?
What about the notes/body/etc

![]() |

Jackojare is just going to stay put after seeing everyone get sick. Plus he has lower perception and intelligence skills, so he'd only get himself sick and get nothing done.

Bluuuuu |

Seeing Sefel start to look dangerously unwell, Bluuuuu's first thought is to usher him out into the hall to get a better look at the lashunta.
Careful Sefel. get some air. The barathu looks at the others. Does anyone have any Rad-Out on them?

![]() |

Donovan helps to take the items and clues they've uncovered out with them, but he leaves with Sefel. "That thing at the threshold. What did it do? Are you sure you cleared it."

![]() |

Whoa, yeah I just need a minute. The lashunta trudges back towards the bridge of the ship and sits at the science officer's station to collect himself.
So, if I'm reading this right, with frequency 1/day Sefel is stuck for this at least three days, assuming successful saves on those days. *Looks around, see's no mystic.*
Donovan helps to take the items and clues they've uncovered out with them, but he leaves with Sefel. "That thing at the threshold. What did it do? Are you sure you cleared it."
I-I'm pretty sure, yeah. I think something else in the room released the radiation.

![]() |

Radiation is both a poison and a disease. It is pretty nasty if it affects you, but normally your armour protects from it. If the armor is working. For the purposes of this adventure if you have no way to cure it, then you are stuck with it until the end, then we have to resolve the condition.

![]() |

Ah, if also a poison then I could use antitoxin for a save boost. Does that at least provide another opportunity for this day?

![]() |

It would help with the rolls if you were still exposed, but not now you are out of it.

Bluuuuu |

Multiple radiation seals disabled though... Bluuuuu worries. that is not a coincidence. An EMP blast perhaps? Or ghosty gremlins?
The solider tries to make Sefel more comfortable, but is disheartened that he did not properly prepare for this. Turning to Donovan, he asks. The material you grabbed. I hope it is worthwhile given the cost.
is Sefel's HP damage a lowering of his max HP until the radiation is cleared? If not, Bluuuuu will gladly offer his two healing serums to the techmage (just mk 1s, but every bit helps)

![]() |

No, both Bluuu and Sefel's hp damage is just hp damage, you can recover it as you see fit.
The notes appear to provide a location for where the crew found the beacon, you could probably follow them. But access to the engineering computer and any information on it, will require going back in there - as would anyone wanting to do a thorough search of the area for other clues about what happened.

![]() |

Sefel coughs. Yeah, we I suspect we could use it. Do not go back in there unless you're completely prepared though. I have an antitoxin you should take beforehand, if you do.

![]() |

The team sets up in the corridor, and can quickly check their suit seals are now intact.

It would help with the rolls if you were still exposed, but not now you are out of it.
Chivix, per this, do please use an antitoxin for that additional exposure. Sefel has some to spare.

![]() |

Chivix checks his seals which are fine, and heads back in.
Can I get a couple of fort save from you please. If you take the anti-toxin, then feel free to apply its bonus to the second save.

![]() |

Chivix enters the chamber again.
He "acquires" the computer and hauls it back out to the corridor. You'll need to power it up somewhere, but you have the physical device.

![]() |

Sefel shakes his head rapidly for a moment to prepare himself to focus.
He nods to Chivix. My thanks. I hope you faired better than I in your brief exposure.
Sefel then pulls the rig near him and sets out to hook it up to power.

Sefel reconnects the computer and then seeks out what treasures it might contain.
A shopping list.
A recipe for fried duck.
3291 spam emails. Apparently a prince on Akiton has credits that his family made in the thasteron business that he needs to get off world.
Ahh.. a firewall. A tough one. He might need some help to get past that...

![]() |

Arg! Duck?! Not much spam mail. Must be a newer account. I've got a firewall to get through now. Who's up for some hacking?
Can Sefel make any more checks?

![]() |

He can try again, but I figure I'd give the others a chance to aid your current attempt first.

![]() |

Bugface collaberates and Donovan also helps and soon the Firewall falls.
You get some voice logs, and also access to some private "family" documents. It turns out that hte Xinya family owns the Bliss of Pursuit (this vessel)
