Security management - I'm going from second in command to head honcho at my own site. I'm excited and terrified all at the same time, especially since it means relocation. XD


Being the boss should be good though - more time for RP while the underlings valued co-workers do the heavy lifting! ;)

Nice. Relocation can be tough but if you like where you are going it can be good.
I'm from New York but I moved to Japan to work for a little while. It was tough leaving the people I knew back home but I loved the experience. Now I'm back in New York.

It won't be that intense of a relocation for me, but it'll be a few states away, and the first time my husband and I have been separated this far from the rest of our families. I'm excited, though - a change of scenery will be nice. And no, it will most assuredly not be less work. XD


This is going to be a rather abstracted maze so I'll be calling on skill checks and so forth as you explore each area in order to find clues and hints to the way forward.

I'm not familiar with how Burn works. Will it go away if we rest? Or otherwise, I don't mind sharing the burden. Does it inflict some sort of penalty?

Every point of burn inflicts non-lethal damage equal to your level. Thats why kineticists work so hard to have high health.

I'd allow spectacles of detect magic for around 4000gp. :)
(Might be less once I check the rules for custom items).

As Nikolaus said, each point of burn inflicts non-lethal damage equal to your level, which only goes away with a night's rest. And I'd pay 4000 for spectacles of detect magic once we have it. :)

What are your thoughts (both of you) on me rolling the saves for you in situations like this? It might speed things up, but I don't want you guys to feel like I'm forcing you into things.

Especially in situations where I'm going to have to roll the save no matter what, I'm good with you rolling saves for us. Whenever I GM play by post, my goal is always to take the party to the next point where I need their decisions, and I'm not choosing whether to make that save or not. And I'm ok with being botted in general if I haven't posted in a while - if I let myself fall behind it's on me that I miss decisions.

You're under a suggestion not to harm the Siren. Ambrus however isn't so its not too much of a problem... :)

How do you guys want to deal with magic items? Neither of you can discover what they do by RAW, but I know that can be dead irritating so... what would you prefer?

1) a magic item or 2) an NPC seem like the two best bets to me. I know the lantern of auras exists and could be used for that purpose; maybe tack on an added benefit of a bonus to Spellcraft/the ability to use Spellcraft untrained. Or I could start putting some points into Spellcraft to use with it.

I have Use Magic Device, so I can use a Wand of Detect Magic to determine if an item is magic or not. But I'd also need Spellcraft to actually identify it, which I don't have, and I'm probably not going to invest in. It's not a big deal having some on in town helping us or I'm open to any other idea.


Ok, I'll work something out.

Moving day is tomorrow! It should just take us the weekend to make the trip (at a casual pace, even), but if I miss posting over the next little bit it's because I'm a tiny bit distracted. What with the new city and new job and all. ;)
