Jonas, agreeing with Stinky's idea that someone should keep an eye on the rear heads toward the doorway and faces out towards the courtyard, his eyes darting left and right for any ambushes. He still holds the lantern/menacingly above his head.

Stinky watches Jonas as he bravely looks out over the courtyard, looking menacing with his deadly lantern. "Err, Jonas, who's looking after them going up that set of stairs then? I thought you was? Errm, do ya wanna help 'em?"

Layf begins up the stairs which have rotted throughout time. A few steps up the entire staircase comes crashing down on top of him. 2d6 ⇒ (6, 6) = 12 damage reflex for half1d20 + 5 ⇒ (14) + 5 = 19, success! 6 damage to Layf and you are prone.

That is when Dug and Layf see the spider lurking above them ready to pounce, Dug looses his arrow and misses the target.

Hearing the commotion Edward draws his club while moving into the room searching for the source of excitement. If the spider is within striking distance from the ground he continues moving to within melee range and attacks and commands charcoal to attack.

Stinkey turns round and sees the monster above. He lets loose a crossbow bolt at the beast. but misses it trying not to hit Layf.
Dug knocks and looses another arrow also missing trying to avoid Layf, while shouting "Shtinky, get Layf clear!!!"
Edward steps up swinging his weapon at the spider but misses him, shouts for charcoal to attack whose bite lands on one of the spider's 8 legs.
Layf thinks about getting up but decides to attack from the ground missing the spider and nearly connecting with Edward. too many if statements in your action so I left you on the ground, also saves you from a AoO. the spider is on the wall right above you and threatens your square.
Jonas, unaware of the chaos happening just behind him sees charcoal run by him into the room and thinks, "where is he going" action Jonas? probably glad you were not the one munched on first this time.

waiting on Jonas, but lets get actions for next round. the room is awfully tight with the boxes, creatures, and webs so everyone in the room loses dex to AC (up to a -2 AC) as long as there are more than 3 creatures in the room, the spider counts toward that number.
For Layf:

Spoiler:
I need a fort save on your turn every round from here until I say stop. poison sucks

make that heal for 5 pts. In the future all cure spells with be 1d4+4+level as usual. I am tired of seeing 2 pts heals. So the range will be CLW (5-8)+CL (max 5). The same applies to Faysal in the other game Dug.

Stinky looks down at the recovering Layf, You all right now?, he turns to Jonas and says, "Well, my oh my, you have the healing talent, just like my brother, must get to know you when all this is done."
Stinky, turns and stays in the doorway, looking at the continuing fight. Ready to jump in and...jump in and...he scratches his head and thinks about it a while, "I wish I hadn't dropped my crossbow, now. Hmm and too close for a bomb." He takes out his vial of potion and fingers it nervously.

Jonas helps Layf to his feet, well as much as a small gnome can... it was more for moral support. His eyes dart about rapidly, almost in a panic as he tries to decipher what the source of all this commotion is in his little silent world. Doing so he spots the spider, and happens to catch Stinky talking to him. He pauses and stares at the other gnome trying to read his fast talking...

"Your brover talks to the stawrs too?!.... Wonderfu!"

Not sure about what else it might help with though. You're more than welcome to try it if you want, its the potion I made up this morning.

Both Layf and Charcoal save. The poison has no new effects on them. Though Layf still has a -5 to STR.

Stinky, puts the potion away and thinks a moment, before he steps gingerly into the room, where the remains of the spider are splattered across the chamber. "Hmm, now that's interesting, I must be able to find something useful in the midst of all this ichor and gore. Maybe even find a poison sack of two. Gosh, its exciting stuff being with these fellas." Stinky starts to methodically go through the remains of the spider, picking up useful bits and pieces that might just go into a potion or two, but keeping a special eye out for the poison sacs. His arms and hands are coloured green and get covered in gore and bits of dead spider as he sifts the remains.
