Anyone have any ideas? Does anyone have the ability to send a message? We can't take this group. We either head back before them or we keep heading further out looking for other groups we can take on or the leaders group and shadow them back to the fortress so we know where the leader can be found. I'd like to get this moving again.
Not to tip the scales one way or another, but I think you might be surprised at what your group is capable of handling. Then again if you all died I would feel bad hehe.
I guess its really about planning and strategy that would make or break the attempt.

I think that's a TPK waiting to happen. I'm guessing that's at least a CR 20 encounter depending on exactly what some of the creatures are and how many of them there are.
I know we're not a typical party and our APL isn't 3 but I'd put it at 5 or 6. We could probably take the giant on it's own but with losses. Just my two cents.
But hey if someone comes up with a good idea I'm all for taking them down.
If we could lure some of them away to soften the encounter maybe. A standard fire giant is cr 10 and quite easily capable of squashing any of us in a single round... we would have to do some real debuffing or hope we can take him out fast.

That's a Manticore, not quite as scary. Still dangerous though...
Hopefully people are able to consolidate a plan of action. Also welcome Prar to the table. He can slip into the action whenever he can post, and explain exactly how he ended up appearing out of thin air.

Its a skull to denote unconscious or dead opponents.

There about a half dozen or so people i guess on the recruitment thread. I have to double check the submissions to make sure how many account for how many slots we have open. Some are also awaiting the possibility of a new table, but that is low priority for me as I want to stay on top of the current tables.

Giving Prar and Greebins some time to post. I PM'd Prar as he is actively posting, even in a couple requirements. Greebins hasn't posted in a while. Feb if I recall correctly from looking at his aliases.
Yeah, I am ready to move it ahead. Everyone has 10 rounds to add some additional spells and get into position. The map hasn't changed, although it looks like someone moved the hellhounds. I just moved them off the map entirely now.
I think I will replace Greebins with one of the new recruits.

I would not have spent my hero points if I knew we had that much time. I thought they would be on us in just a rounds or two.
Nathan, would you cast Mage Armor on Lotham?
Lotham can cast Obscuring Mist. It is debatable how helpful that would be since it would make it much harder for Nathan to do damage.
Other than that, the 3 minute duration on Lotham's Shield of Faith should be plenty. He'll probably cast Resistance and Guidance on himself.
And use up the last of his Martial Flexibility. I'm having a hard time pick feats for that though; most of the ones I want require BAB +6 or feat prereqs I don't have.
I would take Big Game Hunter but it is a regional trait.

Yes you didn't need to blow hero points since you were effectively non combat at that point and had some luxury of time.
you can take regional feats, i don't restrict things by region.

CT, you may want to PM our two missing friends if you haven't already. I haven't heard from Prar after sending him one. If we do end up with new recruits I would prefer another worshiper of Sarenrae to keep the group identity intact and I think we need a roguish type.

Re: Positioning
I can't use my bow with creatures on top of me and Prar isn't a melee character. I'd recommend Prar and I in the middle and the rest of you around us. My 2 cents. Any line of retreat we take should probably be toward the river/lake. Don't know the fire giant is going to want to get into it and if anyone catches fire they can put themselves out quickly.

I think we may be ready to proceed.
I will have Crest the Wave Terror probably join here, to fill the rogue role. He isn't a Sarenrae worshipper but I hope will help as we replace Greebins and Prar.
I might have him join in this battle even in some future round.

You and several other groups comprised of various Goodwin's children have also been scouting outside of Cliffort lately, ranging far and wide. Your group happened to be camping near a lake this night, and you noticed a large fire down shore. A short time later you heard the baying of hounds or wolves. You decide to investigate. Swimming swiftly down shore you peer from the water's edge and notice another group of your adopted siblings about to engage a giant and some other humanoids while a large winged thing comes in over the water.
You can join round 2. Some semblance of in story introduction may be necessary once you scramble ashore and, in theory, aid your friends. Crest added to map on square D, -7.

Totally will to accept that they don't have a collapsible bathtub available, but I loved the idea of having one of those instead of a bedroll for on-land sleeping, and hey, I've been at Cliffort for a while. Maybe they made one?
