Round 2
1d20 ⇒ 131d100 ⇒ 19
As Beppo runs across the field, he sees the beasts' eyes following him. Beppo is unsure if the creature sees, hears, or smells him, but the creatures actions do seem delayed Beppo almost expected an attack from the creature along the way, but none ever came...however, as Beppo stops and turns around....
Enemy Turn
The creature attempts to bite Beppo!
Bite & Grab: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (14) + 13 = 272d6 + 10 ⇒ (4, 6) + 10 = 201d20 + 13 + 4 ⇒ (9) + 13 + 4 = 261d100 ⇒ 81
Bite & Grab: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (8) + 13 = 212d6 + 10 ⇒ (5, 5) + 10 = 201d20 + 13 + 4 ⇒ (11) + 13 + 4 = 281d100 ⇒ 58

Round 3
Beppo cuts the beast deeply in the face, hoping that it will let go. As he becomes visable, the crowd gasps and a big smile comes across the nobelman's face.

Crowd They gasp as the hero is swallowed. They can actually see him slowly going down the creature's massive throat from the bulge. The creature licks its chops.

GM-JCServant |
It's just you. LOL, j/k. I'm trying to rush it because I realize that some of you are kinda bored and unhappy spending over a week of real time stuck in a cage...as evident by a number of regular posting periods being skipped by players. At the table, this would have been done in under 40 minutes or so. As always, if you were skipped/missed a turn, you can do two actions on the next round, the way Kyle got a jump start on his 3 round cast.
Tessai |
Ok, just felt lost there for a moment :D
Perception: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (9) + 10 = 19
"I cannot see Beppo anywhere - He.. He's been swallowed?!" - Tessai asks her companions, alarmed at the sudden urgency of the situation.
Turning to Brandon she adds - "I... I don't know..." - her hands gripping the bars of the cage so forcefully that her knuckles quickly turn to white, her mind madly pondering all the options before them.
Brandon Harcroft |
Brandon looks desperately around him. Tessai and Aemon grappling with what to do, the crowd in hushed silence, Thrax - that smug, self satisfied look on his face.
I won't watch another friend die..!
He thumbs the cork from his mutagen vial and downs the liquid in one.
Help him, Edmond. Show them all the man you can be.

Round 4:

Heroic Re Roll: 1d20 + 12 - 6 ⇒ (12) + 12 - 6 = 18
Round 4
The crowd and Shades of Grey stare, holding their breath for what happens next. The devilish creature roars at the people in response. They gasp. It starts to take a couple of steps towards the other side of the arena, when it stops, suddenly. It looks down to see a sword sticking out of the middle of its neck. With a mighty swing that decapitates the beast, Beppo appears, and falls to the ground, covered in disgusting ooze, his armor half falling off.
The crowd roars and starts chanting, Beppo! Beppo!! Beppo!!!
You don't seem to need to listen closely to hear the nobelman, Thrax, you fool! Your monster swallowed him, so he cut off his neck from the inside! That was your last summon! We've lost!!!
And yet, Thrax's grin that appeared when the monster swallowed Beppo remains undaunted.
As Beppo staggers over to his side of the arena, the announcer comes yells, using a spell to bolster his voice, Ladies and Gentlmen! It would appear that current champ has been upset! We have a new... uh...
At that moment, you hear a woman scream. Then more yelling. You scan the crowds and see them pointing to the body of the monster.
You look that way, and you see that it isn't as dead as you had hoped. Suddenly, where one head was cut off, two more quickly grow, taking its place!
His wicked grin now goes from ear to ear. You hear Thrax say, This is my favorite part of the game.... Sudden Death!
Kyle Gray |
Kyle finishes his restoration spell, looks up to spot Beppo, and cures all his ability damage.
As Beppo starts to make his way over, Kyle takes the opportunity to heal him.

Kyle looks at the beast growing two heads. He takes a piece of the beast still hanging onto Beppo to learn more about it.

GM-JCServant |
Edmond Harrow |
Ah Beppo, our mutual friend Brandon worries too much. I knew that thing had bitten off more than it could chew - if you'll pardon the expression. he says with a devilish grin.
Still, I'd rather afford myself a better view than from between these bars.
I suspect these cages are strong so can I get a GM hero point roll with my crowbar for an overall +16 please?
Edit. Actually if it's two rounds I'll drink my extract of bulls strength first for an overall +18
Edmond Harrow |
I didn't hear anything in the rules about bending the bars of my cage.
I won't step through unless absolutely necessary. But if it is necessary, he dies. Edmond says, pointing a claw at Thrax.
Besides, aren't we supposed to be fighting against this kind of mockery of entertainment? He asks Kyle but looking pointedly at Tessai.
Kyle Gray |
Kyle looks around to make sure no one heard or understood what Edmond meant. "I don't know what you're talking about. Hurry up and hand Beppo your morningstar."
Kyle sees Beppo ready to charge and prepares to tap him with a bit of luck before he does so. "Let me know when you're ready to go."
Aemon Brooks |
As Beppo slices the beasts head of Aemon cheers. "Amazing job Bepppo!" But then as the beasts starts to stand up again He points for Beppo to see. "It's not over.." Then seeing Edmond out and going for the cage Aemon moves over to him."Edmond i'm not sure what you have planned but i've got your back." He then loosens his bow and readies his blunt arrows.
Tessai |
"Beppo, grab this!" - Tessai shouts as she waves her Masterwork Silver Light mace, nodding to Kyle - "If he comes to get it, cast your spell"
At Edmonds' comment Tessai smiles - "Why Edmond, I could imagine you growing a lot of things - thorns, spikes, a forked tongue... But a conscience...? For a companion?! You amaze me" - the smile then vanishing from her face, she adds - "If NEEDED, I take care of the creature, and you disembowel Thrax, how's that?"

Beppo will drink the potion if someone pours it for him. In any case, he will hold a defensive position this round. Total Defense.
Edmond Harrow |
I thought I'd posted that I was giving up my morningstar but upon review I didn't. Perhaps it didn't take but it's Beppo's if he wants it.
My lady, clad in iron bars all I grow is bored. But Beppo is far too an interesting companion to be thrown to the wolves. As are you. So I say your deal is entirely agreeable.

Round 1
Beppo feels much better as Kyle is able to heal him of his ability damage. He holds his ground as the large creature charges him...using its huge reach to its advantage. Despite moving, each head attacks in rapid succession.

GM-JCServant |
Yeah... still sickened. 10 minute deal. Oh....here's something that's funny. When you're grappled, you cannot move. I guess you can only beat on the head that's got you held, or attempt to escape.
GM-JCServant |
Yeah, he's not grappled...just thinking out line...didn't realize it held you in place.
Round 2
Beppo approaches the beast. Both heads attack!
Bite Attack: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (14) + 11 = 252d6 + 10 ⇒ (6, 3) + 10 = 191d20 + 11 ⇒ (12) + 11 = 23

Beppo then jumps up in the air, and hits both of the heads!
Enemy Turn

Round 2
Beppo attacks both heads. It's quite a sight, really. The necks on these things are so long that they are effectively able to attack Beppo from both sides, even as he attacks them both.

Beppo takes 32 points of damage. With one hit point left, he's beat up, but still standing. The crowd goes wild!
Thrax moves to the front of his cage. This is absolutely ridiculous. His friends keep healing him! This will end...NOW!
Thrax disappears, and reappears, floating over the monster's heads. He points at Beppo.
3d4 + 3 ⇒ (2, 3, 3) + 3 = 11
Golden orbs quickly spring out of his hand, knocking the fighter out. The crowd boos at the clear infraction of the rules. He laughs loudly. No one...NO ONE beats ME!!!

The announcer exclaims, Everyone, remain calm! Thrax, return to your cage, you cannot...!
