Old Haldock was pretty proud of himself for having had this idea. No way was he dealing with these rascals for one more summer. He sent them on a long ranging mission through the Far Havens. "Go and figure out what the heck is going on in the West." He told them. (And get lost on the way.) He thought. "Try to help folks when you can." He added without believing it. And off they went.

The characters wake up battered and bruised from a groggy sleep, in a cage. The cage is located in a cave, which opens to another one where a loud ruckus can be heard. A weary goblin guard is nervously looking in the other cave. When a giant wasp suddenly erupts through the entrance, the goblin quickly backs away and falls against the cage.
