Just a heads-up, I am going to be at a con tomorrow through Monday. Will update on my return.

Norasha Mountainrunner |

Thank all of you for understanding.

Norasha Mountainrunner |

Thank all of you for understanding. After October 6, I should be able to post regularly from then on.

Norasha Mountainrunner |

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news everyone, but my iPhone is acting up, so I'm trying to get it fixed (could be a software issue, or worse the battery is messed up). This will impact my posting rate some, but I'll still try and post as often as I can from my laptop before work.
So, keep y'all's fingers crossed. And I apologize about this. I'm concerned that my phone got messed up during the hurricane when I had numerous power surges prior to losing power when Matthews came through.
Okay....
Crisis averted! After looking online, I found that sometimes if you let your iPhone's battery drain to 0% (which you're supposed to do occasionally), the battery may not have enough juice to charge back up. According to what I found online, simply using a blow dryer to warm the phone up enough for say 5-10 minutes and then immediately plug your iphone into a charger, the iPhone starts right back up. Phew! Glad that's over.

Posting to all my games
Just wanted to inform you all that I am currently wading through a veritable swamp of work, obligations, and schooling. As such, for the next two weeks of I do not guarantee my usual posting rate but will attempt to update games when I am able.
Happy Holidays.

![]() |

Posting this in all my games:
Some of you may or may not be aware, but my wife has glaucoma which has already claimed the sight in her right eye and is eating away at the vision in her left. To further complicate matters, she had a cataract removed from her left eye, but during the operation, there was some minor temporary damage to the optic nerve. Long story short, it should heal in two to three months, but until then, I am her official reader. She can make out blurred images of people and if they speak, she is pretty good at recognizing voices, but she can't read anything.
Further, I am the only one of us who drives, since her vision started getting worse last year, so I have to take her to any and all doctor's appointments. About once every two weeks, she has to go to Tulane in New Orleans, about 90 miles away (and that's not to mention local appointments, errands, shopping trips, etc.). So if I seem slow to respond or post, please bear with me. If I am a player, bot me as needed. If I am your GM, rest assured that I have not forgotten you. I may just have had a hella busy day.

Norasha Mountainrunner |

My posting rate has actually slowed down a great deal because of work and the holidays. So, if I don't post, then please bot me. I'm posting this to all of my games I'm in, just to let people know. Sorry about this.

Norasha Mountainrunner |

Sorry y'all but I'll won't be able to update my stats until next week. The holidays are upon me so my posting rate is going to drop to almost zero really quickly. I can still post but I want to make sure I have my numbers correct when I make rolls. Again I'm apologize for the inconvenience.

Rokar Longclaw |

Hi all, hope people had a nice weekend (and holiday if you were/are celebrating).
Rokar is all leveled up. Picked up HP, BAB, a spell/day, and another min/day of Animal Focus, and bumped skills up by a point. Feat-wise, I grabbed Combat Expertise
I also picked up the Hunter Tactics class feature which I'm using to give myself and Milani 'Pack Flanking'. Basically we only have to be adjacent now to be considered flanking. Pretty big combat upgrade.
As for Milani, she got a little better at hitting/damage, and can let me cast some different spells while adjacent, as the Totem Guide companion archetype has started to affect her.
I'll wait until we've all leveled up and posted before posing my action, but I suspect Rokar will at least investigate the pole-arm barrel before readying himself on the line. I may also be in the market for another healing potion if someone's got one. Cheers!

Norasha Mountainrunner |

Not yet. I should be able to update sometime tomorrow, most likely late afternoon. Things are starting to calm down some, so I can now play catch up in all the campaigns I'm in.
I do apologize for making y'all wait for me. Things got hectic around the holidays.

Norasha Mountainrunner |

Apologies for being absent.
Been busy lately.
If it isn't too much trouble can someone please bring me up to speed on what has happened?

![]() |

Nothing at the moment. We've been waiting for you to update Norasha to 3rd level before proceeding. :)

![]() |

Just so everyone is aware; convention season is upon us again! I serve as the Game Operations Director (that is, the Director of the Game Room) at CoastCon, a local convention in 1.5 months, and this takes up a lot of my already pressed time. So if I am slow to update or respond, please bear with me and bot me as needed.

Rokar Longclaw |

We've cleared most of the town, except now it looks like there's a hoard at the front gate. We've got a minute of so (maybe less! to get ready. (The roll20 map is accurate, I believe).
Before that, everyone needs level to 3. I believe we're just waiting on you.

![]() |

Yes, the map should be accurate, though the horde is not shown.

Norasha Mountainrunner |

I got it updated. I'm sorry. I thought I had let y'all know that I had updated it. Must have gotten eaten up when Paizo's website acted up.
My apologies. I feel just awful now!

![]() |

Don't feel bad. I think we all lose a post now and again; I know that I have. I will try to get the new move up tomorrow.

Norasha Mountainrunner |

Hey y'all, which skill is used for taunting?
Diplomacy, Bluff, or Intimidate? Or do I roll all three? That's what I did when I gmed a long time ago was to have people roll all three and then add the three rolls together, divide by 2 (to make it fair I guess), and then see if they beat the enemy's Anti-Taunt DC (I made on that the fly!). If the DC is beaten, the enemy suffers a -2 on all AC, Reflex, Will, Attack, Concentration, and Confirm Critical rolls to signify that a bad guy is really, really mad at you!
However, this might be a more complex method and one that everyone might not be comfortable on using. Thoughts?

Aisha Rageborn |

There's technically a feat that does that. It's called Antagonize.

Norasha Mountainrunner |

There's technically a feat that does that. It's called Antagonize.
Ah I see.
Now is it useful?

Norasha Mountainrunner |

Hey y'all, where are the orcs in position of the logs?
I'm trying to see on roll20, but the site keeps hiccuping for me.

![]() |

We're one week out from the convention. As such, my time is getting crunched pretty badly. I'll try to check in as much as possible until Wednesday, after that, don't expect to hear from me until Monday. Please bot me as necessary. If I'm running your game, I ask for your patience. We will continue!

Norasha Mountainrunner |

I'm here. Sorry it's been a busy past few days. I'll try and post something.

Norasha Mountainrunner |

Did we cut the logs?

Corric Toppleton |

Just to keep you all in the loop, during the no-new-notification incident (where forum games weren't alerting folks to updates), I had a member of my family pass on.
As such, I feel it fair to inform you that I updates might take longer than usual (which I know, is plenty long of a wait already) and if you feel the need to drop out of a game I'm DMing or drop me from a game I'm participating in, I understand.
That said, I do hope to update within a couple days as I could use the distraction as the usual business of these events tend to warrant. Thank you for your understanding.
Life moves on eventually. I just need some time.

Norasha Mountainrunner |

I'm going to try and post sometime next week. Wifi at the store is acting stupid again, so I can't get Roll20 to work right.
Sorry about that y'all.
And sorry to hear that Corric. You and your family are in my thoughts and prayers. Take your time. We'll still be here.

![]() |

I'm sorry to hear this Corric. Do what you must and we will keep your seat warm.

Rokar Longclaw |

First off:
Corric, really sorry about your situation. I've had a couple particularly unfortunate experiences like that as well, so I can appreciate the need for time. Please take whatever time you need and don't feel pressured.
Back to Gameplay Stuff:
Since we've hit level 3, Milani and I can flank even when we're standing next to each other, and we get a +4 instead of a +2 for the flank, pretty well-suited for this encounter. So if we have any healing left, either a potion someone has, or a Lay on Hands, that would be super appreciated and useful!
Also, I've really got no other plan than 'hope we hold out'. Should we be thinking outside the box WhyKnt? Like, is the horde impossibly large behind the gate, or is this a non-winnable battle? Might you tell us if/when our characters start thinking retreating is the only valid choice?

![]() |

I can tell you that the battle is winnable, provided that you can hold out. There are a finite number of waves of orcs. Whether/when you retreat is up to you, but Omast is staying to fight to the death, just so you know. The problem with the orcs is that, while they don't have a lot of hit points, it seems like they do because they can fight on after reaching 0 (albeit at a penalty). You would be able to tell by observation that after a couple of hits, they become Staggered.

Norasha Mountainrunner |

Still keeping you and your family in my thoughts and prayers GM!

![]() |

It is much appreciated. A possible ray of hope: there is a new device that may present the possibility of at least making her a little more independent. It attaches to an ordinary pair of glasses and has a little OCR camera that can read text aloud through an earpiece (or it can be plugged into an external speaker). It can read labels, magazines, newspapers, books, television screens, phone screens, etc.
A more advanced variant even has limited facial recognition and will tell you who you are looking at (if you have preprogrammed their image into it). It's a far cry from perfect, but it represents a great leap forward.
Of course, there is a price tag. The basic unit (OCR only) costs $2,500, while the more advanced unit (with facial recognition) comes in at $3,500.

Norasha Mountainrunner |

Sorry I haven't posted yet. Been busy with work. I'll try and have a post up either tonight or tomorrow.

Rokar Longclaw |

I'd love to fall back, but I believe we're fresh out of healing. This might be a battle of attrition!
On a more tactical note, might Norasha be able to step left one square so Rokar and Milani can get back to a position where they can both threaten the same opponents? The +4 to hit from that might be the difference-maker!

Corric Toppleton |

Finals are over and I'm currently competing at a national leadership conference. Should be back by Monday and resume a better frequency of posting now that schools out.
Apologies for the lack of keeping you all informed. Up until now most free time was trying to fix metaphorically shooting myself in the foot on one final.

Norasha Mountainrunner |

Sure that works for me!
And sorry for not posting yet. Been busy with work and all.
