Nidhi Aashirya |
Round 2, Initiative 12:
Nidhi moves to the danger and climbs to stand on a chair. (1 square diagonal NW) Nidhi hoists herself to stand on top of the chair’s seat in hopes of getting a clearer shot at the undead. With her 5’6” height, the chair helps get a clearer view.
Nidhi aims at the orange zombie with a cold iron arrow in her shiny black bow.

Please let me know if I made any mistakes.
GM Euan |
Looks pretty good Nidhi - thanks! No need to list all your modifiers each time if you don't want to. You can just list situational ones, like point blank or inspiration, or bless (which you forgot to add)
Nidhi launches an arrow at the zombie, and though she hits it well enough, she does not pierce its thick skin and hit anything vital (no damage done due to DR).
Florence Corvina |
Round 2, Init 9
Florence scrambles over chairs and past screaming buyers to close the distance between herself and the melee. She stops near the eastern set of doors, thankfully still holding for the time being. Although she can't tell just how injured the poor servant underneath the door might be, she calls upon a bit of magic to at least try and stop the bleeding - if it isn't too late.

Florence moves to her current position and casts Stabilize on the guy stuck under the door.

Ben is now right in front of an undead. He closes his eyes in concentration for a moment, making some arcane gestures with his hands in the meantime. Then an explosion of flames is produced by his open palms, both pointed against the undead.

And flames cover the entrance, further horrifying those trapped inside, but burning away the bulk of the zombie hoard. The webs are now aflame as well however, and there's some concern the building will catch as the webs burn...
GM Euan |
Zilchus moves up, but due to the crowd in his way, doesn’t get a swing. Benedictus lights the zombies on fire, killing most of them! Cahal tries to do to the zombie what it did to him, but cannot manage it this time. Florence moves up and tries to save the servant pinned under the now flaming door. Nidhi launches an arrow at the zombie, and though she hits it well enough, she does not pierce its thick skin and hit anything vital (no damage done due to DR).

Cahal shouts in surprise as the web catch on fire, and in delight as the zombies burn with it.

GM Euan |
Zilchus steps up and misses, but Cahal drops them both with quick jabs to the throat. Florence steps in and finishes the job, if it needed finishing, so Nidhi can save her arrow as there are no more threats.
We are out of initiative, for now. The webbing is burning however, and parts of the facade are catching. There are some ladders nearby for some construction work planned on the next building over, so you can, if you’re quick, get the fire put out.
The crowd quiets a bit as the last zombie falls and the fire is put out. (I’ve moved the party just outside to put out the fire.)
You hear, as the screaming up close fades a little, screaming coming from all over the city. Something is clearly very, very wrong…
Nidhi Aashirya |
Nidhi climbs down from the chair she'd been standing on. She rushes over to join the others: "My- My grandmother! I have to check on her!" Nidhi looks worriedly at Cahal, "Oh and your daughter!" Nidhi looks left and right, down the street(?) (Are those pillars in front of us?)
Nidhi feels the heat of the fire behind her. "Err... wait! The fire!" Nidhi takes her canteen the splashes what's left inside of it on the side of the building where the facade is catching flame. "Quick, let's try to put this fire out. Let's be part of the solution - not the problem." Nidhi jogs towards the adjacent building where there's been construction.
Perception (something to put fire out): 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (16) + 9 = 25
So many things to do. Everything is happening so fast... Nidhi returns to the fire with whatever she can carry. She looks to see if the others have joined in.
Florence Corvina |
Although thankful to have the zombies taken care of, Florence shrinks away from the fire that's in danger of becoming an inferno. "N-No...no, I can't..." she stammers. Then her eyes settle on the unconscious servant, still trapped under the door.
"Quick, get him out from there, I'll make sure he's okay!" she calls out, thankful for the distraction and ashamed for needing it. Once the man is pulled clear, Florence kneels down attempts to call on her mysterious powers of healing...
Healing Hex: 1d8 + 4 ⇒ (5) + 4 = 9
"Hey...are you okay?" she asks once he begins to come to. "Don't worry, you're safe..." Florence then looks up, now hearing additional screaming coming from elsewhere within the city. "For the moment, anyway. You and the others should stay here and barricade the doors and windows!"
______
Once the fire is put out, Florence quickly pulls out the healing wand she still carries. "Nidhi's right, we've got to go make sure her grandmother and Cahal's daughter are s-Cahal, wait! Let me heal you first!"
Post edited slightly to account for Cahal's post below!
Cahal ud'Din |
1 person marked this as a favorite. |
The cold hand of Seth grips at Cahal's heart and shreds at it with its claws. She does not stop for a breath to consider the fire. All she hears is the sound of the city besieged and shadows of carnage dance in her mind.
She starts running. She ignores the others and she starts running. All she is, all she stands for, her purpose, is being hunted in the streets of Wati.
She is Sekhmet. She is rage with intent.
No healing can be done before she darts away.
Zilchus Lyghtlode |
While Zilchus would love to congratulate Ben on his brilliant use of web & fire to kill things, he has little time after casting Create Water to douse the flames that he grabs the Professor and drags him running after Cahal & the rest.
Zilchus can't run as fast as the others, but he tries his best to catch up.
Survival as needed to follow.
Nidhi Aashirya |
"Wha- Cahal?!" Nidhi looks confused for a moment before stopping her current action to follow behind Zilchus, who is following Cahal. Nidhi anxiously calls out: "Florence, what's wrong with Cahal? Zilchus? Ben?" Nidhi suddenly feels hyper aware of all of the sounds plaguing Wati: screaming civilians, undead moaning, steel clanking, fires crackling...
Prof. Benedictus Dickens |
Ben dismisses his web spell immediately after the undead threat is over. He helps the others to help douse the flames. "Hey! Someone, here, quick!" Cahal's sudden flee ruins Ben's plan, as the scholar is dragged away by Zilchus. "Okay, okay..."
GM Euan |
The party flees the scene, flames licking at the building they left behind, chasing each other into the streets (one round of create water helped a little, but not much).
As they run, they see crawling undead hands attacking those in the Sunburst Market, but that is not their destination.
They run, and run, while the sounds of screams and mayhem fill the city.
Nidhi Aashirya |
While the carnage and suffering of Wati locals is troubling to Nidhi, Nidhi attempts to follow Cahal. Oh geez, we left the auction house on fire. Nidhi starts feeling distraught as she chases after her crush. It's too early to say goodbye. I have to protect her.
Nidhi is greatful for her own habit of taking long walks through Wati. Even in the darkness, Nidhi knows where they are, but Nidhi worries about Florence and Ben. I hope they can keep up. They don't know the city like Cahal, Zilchus, and I do.
Prof. Benedictus Dickens |
"Zilchus! I believe we should come back! That building will burn down without us!"
GM Euan |
The party passes much suffering as it is become clear the dead have risen in the streets and may in fact be pouring from the Necropolis. It's impossible to stop and help everyone who may need it and so you rush to aid one of your own first...
Cahal rounds the corner to see one of the undead, wrapped as many are, pounding on the door to her home.

Nidhi stops when Cahal stops, her sides aching from running on a full stomach. Nidhi doubles over and starts puking up the auction house buffet.
"Blarg," Nidhi vomits into the ground, holding her stomach. Half-digested food falls from Nidhi's mouth to the ground. Nidhi's throat and mouth burn from her stomach acid. Oh gods, why did I eat so much? "Urp - Bleargh."
Nidhi's stomach continues to convulse, determined to rid itself of all its contents.
