About Veshka
Veshka was born into a crazy family--especially the egg layers. This extended to some of the other adults that lived in the same house; one was a self-proclaimed "lactomancer" who studies the ways of milk magic from a book he claims his future self wrote, the other was Nefris, who constantly complained of being hungry and attempting to eat people's shoes (and other things). Veshka was the middle of three children between her father Javvek and her mother Kiffy, hatched between two brothers Kaven and Kovesh.
Kaven was extremely adept at being able to get into places unseen and causing trouble, and was often urged on by Veshka. Though Kovesh proved himself a natural diplomat early in life and often talked himself out of trouble with the kind of skill that normally didn't come until much later in life. Veshka on the other hand tended to rely on her sheer innocence; don't get mad at her, she's just a hatchling! A poor defenseless hatchling, isn't she adorable? And despite all the trouble the three of them got into (and out of), their parents loved them very much.
Veshka would always follow her father's orders to the letter, although this frequently meant creative interpretations hinging on the exact wording he used. It was one such night that landed her and Kaven in a whole lot of trouble. Javvek and Kiffy were going to be gone for a few days, leaving the three hatchlings with Nefris. Javvek told her, "Don't go outside without supervision until we get back." That night, after Nefris was asleep, Veshka woke Kaven with, "Lets go play outside! Daddy said not to without somebody watching, you're somebody! We can watch each other!" One thing lead to another and landed in deep with the city thieves guild, who didn't much appreciate the two of them showing up and ruining a heist--a well paid heist. The guild decided that to recoup their loss would be to sell the two into slavery.
Separated from her family and all that she once knew, she started hearing a voice in her head that was not her own. It comforted her in the darkness and solitude that she now faced, her new "home" was not kind to her--they weren't abusive either, but they showed her no more love than a tradesman showed his tools. The voice in her head was the only thing she could cling to, oh how much it sounded like Kaven. Truly she must now be as mad as the rest of her family.
It was in this state that Hokuto Ichihara found her, robotically cleaning the tables and rooms at an inn on the outskirts, quietly chattering away to the air, her mind somewhere far from the painful reality she lived.
