Tsaurat was born into a pious, hard-working family of little means. His childhood was spent attending temple or working. As he grew into adolescence he found his presence required more and more at work and less at temple.

When the family crafts business failed they needed help. The local temple priest suggested he take vows and dedicate his life to Erastil. He would receive martial and religious training at the academy. In return, the family would receive a stipend to help them survive. As an Elf, he was a preferred candidate. Their longevity and natural martial prowess and immunities to magic are highly valued by a religious establishment seeking to establish its intransitive nature in the world of men.

After an extended stay at the academy he went to work, chaperoning clerics and officials of the faith through dangerous lands. More often than not, once a mission was over he would be ordered to sit tight in whatever cut-throat backwater he'd been left in ...
